Police News Posted Home » Featured » Police News May 26, 2018 Police received a mischief complaint from a business on the west end of Camrose where the customer damaged property belonging to the business. Police are investigating. A west end business reported a theft where a female was caught stealing $180.00 worth of merchandise. The woman was arrested and charged with theft under $5000 and possession of stolen property under $5000. She was released on an appearance notice. Police received a complaint of a disturbance occurring at a park in Camrose. It was determined that a youth had threatened another youth with a pair of scissors. Police arrested the suspect and the youth was charged with uttering threats and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public then released to appear in Camrose Provincial Court. A business reported that a male was in their store that was previously served a trespass notice. The male was located and charged for trespassing. Police received a complaint of an erratic driver entering Camrose and had struck a tree in a business parking lot. The vehicle was located and the 24 year old female driver showed signs of intoxication. The woman was arrested and provided two breath samples of 250 mg% and 240 mg%. She was charged with dangerous driving, impaired driving, and driving over 80 mg%. May 25, 2018 Staff at a local bank contacted Police when a male tried accessing a bank account using a counterfeit driver’s license and SIN card. The male became nervous when the transaction wasn’t going smoothly and left the bank leaving the identification behind. The photo on the driver’s license was that of the suspect and Police are attempting to identify the male. An employee of an electrical company had an expensive meter stolen from his work truck while he stopped for lunch at a local restaurant. Police are investigating the theft. A convenience store reported a theft of $180 worth of product. It was determined that it was an issue with the credit card so the customer returned to make payment. A 74 year old woman was victimized by the CRA scam. The female purchased $3000 worth of iTunes cards and provided the codes to the fraudster. Staff at the store where she purchased the cards warned her several times that it was a scam but the female insisted that the purchase was not for the CRA. The Canada Revenue Agency will never request payment of your taxes with any form of gift cards! Please ensure your senior family members are aware of this scam! May 24, 2018 A loss prevention officer at a west end business contacted Police after apprehending a shoplifter. The female had stolen a small amount of cosmetics and was issued a trespass notice not to return to the business. Police responded to an assault at a local bar. It was determined that the involved male and female had a disagreement which resulted in each person punching the other. The situation was mediated. A customer at a west-end business became confrontational with staff when he wasn’t allowed to return an item. Staff contacted Police and the male was spoken to about his behavior and served a trespass notice. May 23, 2018 Police were contacted when a witness observed a vehicle hit a tree in the area of 44B ave in the 6200 block. The vehicle was abandoned on Police arrival but it was determined that a 15 year old driver had taken the vehicle without consent and crashed into the tree. Charges are pending. Police attended a residence on 51 avenue in the 5400 block when the downstairs tenant was observed displaying an odd behavior. Police determined that the male had taken illicit drugs along with his prescribed medication and was arrested when he became aggressive toward Police. He was taken to St. Mary’s hospital where he continued his irrational behavior. The male who also suffers with mental health issues was transported to the Centennial center in Ponoka. A 911 call was received regarding a domestic situation on 50 street in the 5400 block. Police attended and the involved male in the dispute had conditions not to have contact with the female. The male was arrested for breaching his conditions. A female contacted Police from a neighbor’s residence indicating that there was an unknown male in her apartment. Police attended and located an intoxicated male inside the residence. The male was arrested for unlawfully being in a dwelling. The male was also arrested on outstanding warrants out of Ponoka. May 22, 2018 Police received a Curb the Danger call regarding a possible impaired driver. Police located the vehicle as it was heading west out of Camrose. The male displayed signs of alcohol impairment and provided samples of his breath which exceeded the legal limit. The 26 year old was charged with impaired driving and for transporting open liquor. A vehicle traveling westbound out of Camrose on Highway 13 was struck by a rim & tire that came dislodged from an eastbound vehicle. Fortunately the driver was not injured. May 21, 2018 As a result of an ongoing domestic violence investigation, Police have charged a 21 year old man for 4 counts of assault, 2 counts of assault with a weapon, and one count of assault causing bodily harm. He was brought before a Justice of the Peace and released on a $2000.00 no cash recognizance to appear in court. Police received a complaint of a break and enter to a residence where suspect(s) stole electronics. The matter is under investigation. A complaint was received of an argument occurring at a residence between a man and a woman. Police attended and the situation was mediated. May 20, 2018 Police received a 911 call of an assault that had occurred inside of a residence. Initial investigation determined that a 21 year old man had assaulted a woman and he was arrested and lodged into cells. The matter is still under investigation. Police are investigating the theft of a silver bike with chrome blue rims and black rear pegs. Police are investigating. May 19, 2018 While on patrol, members arrested a man who had an outstanding warrant for unpaid fines. He paid the rest of his money owed and was released from custody. Police responded to a disturbance at a residence where the homeowner wanted two people removed from the property. Police attended and the situation was mediated. A complaint was received where a resident reported that he had tools stolen from his shed at the rear of his residence. Police are investigating. A traffic stop was conducted after a vehicle was noted to be speeding. Police determined the driver was intoxicated and he was arrested for impaired driving. The man was brought back to the Camrose Police Service and provided two breath samples of 170 mg% and 160 mg%. Police also seized 10 grams of cannabis marihuana during the investigation. The man was charged with impaired driving, impaired care and control, possession of a controlled substance and transport open alcohol within his vehicle. He was released on a promise to appear. May 18, 2018 A man called police advising that one of his family members had taken his vehicle without consent. Police are investigating. A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle that was observed failing to stop at a stop sign. Police determined that the male driver was under the influence of cannabis marihuana. The driver was issued a 24 hour suspension, two violation tickets and the vehicle was towed. While on patrol, police noticed a vehicle in the ditch near Camrose Drive and 39 Street. Police located two males in the area who appeared to be intoxicated. Investigation determined that one of the males was the driver of the vehicle and he had a suspended driver’s license. The vehicle did not have insurance or registration and the license plate attached to the vehicle was being misused. Further checks determined that the driver was also bound by a court order with a condition not to consume alcohol. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court. May 17, 2018 Assistance was provided to a 7 year old who contacted Police when he got home from school and discovered his mother was not home. The child was transported to his mother’s place of employment and she was spoken to regarding leaving her son unattended. A traffic stop was conducted on a male who was under the influence of cannabis marihuana. The male was issued a 24 hour driving suspension. May 16, 2018 A male operating an older gray Jeep Grand Cherokee drove away at a high rate of speed when Police attempted to stop the vehicle. Shortly after a male reported that his gray Jeep had been stolen while parked at 137 Mount Pleasant Drive with the keys left in the vehicle. Police identified the male suspect and a warrant is being issued for his arrest. A black 2011 GMC truck was stolen from Tillicum Beach right in front of the owner. Police observed the vehicle entering Camrose and the male driver quickly turned onto Exhibition Drive and fled south on gravel roads at a high rate of speed. The suspect’s description was consistent with the suspect who Police had observed earlier in the day operating the Jeep. The gray Jeep was recovered abandoned at Tillicum Beach. A local hotel contacted Police when it located drug residue and drug paraphernalia left in a room. The items were destroyed by Police who are following up with the occupant of the room. A male who applied for an online loan through Raymond Credit Inc. was contacted by a representative who indicated that they needed $500 in Safeway gift cards to complete the loan process. The male provided them with the cards and when they asked for another $300 in gift cards the male then realized he had been scammed. A loss prevention officer at a west end business contacted Police after observing two males shoplifting. Police attended and arrested two youths who were in possession of $200 in merchandise. The youth who were both known to Police were charged with theft, possession of stolen property and breaching their probation orders. Police received a complaint of a domestic at the Northside trailer park. A female with scrapes to her elbow was observed crying outside. The investigation determined that the female was sleeping when her boyfriend returned home accusing her of leaving his shed open. The male then grabbed the female and dragged her outside of the home. The 23 year old was arrested and charged with assault. May 15, 2018 An unlocked bicycle was stolen from the owner’s backyard. The ladies bike is a black and pink Electra bicycle. Curfew checks were conducted on a male with conditions not to leave the province of Alberta. When the male was not at his residence Police determined that he had taken a flight out of province. Charges are pending. At about 1:00 AM Police responded to a disturbance on 50 street in the 5400 block. An intoxicated female was outside screaming and acting out of control. The 17 year old actively resisted her arrest by kicking and spitting at Police. After being handcuffed she then became unresponsive. The female was transported to St. Mary’s hospital where she once again became aggressive toward staff and had to be restrained. The female who was high on alcohol and cocaine was treated by medical staff and later charged with public intoxication and assaulting a Police officer. May 14, 2018 Police continued an assault investigation from the previous day. A 40 year old male has been charged with one count of assault, one count of assault causing bodily harm and one count of mischief. The male has been released on a recognizance with domestic violence conditions. A bicycle was stolen when it had been left unlocked by the owner while he went into a restaurant. Police were advised by a female that her ex-boyfriend was breaching his conditions by repeatedly contacting her. The male was located by Police and arrested. The male was in possession of a stolen cell phone which he had used to repeatedly text and call the female. The male was charged with criminal harassment, theft, possession of stolen property, and four counts of breaching his conditions. May 13, 2018 A customer at a west end business reported that her cell phone was stolen out of her shopping cart. Police are investigating. Police responded to several noisy party complaints throughout the evening. Police received a complaint from a restaurant on the west end that a patron had left without paying for his bill. The male was located a short distance away and found in an intoxicated state. He returned to pay his bill and was issued a ticket for being intoxicated in public then driven to his residence. May 12, 2018 Police received a theft complaint from a west end business where three males were observed attempting to steal items from the store. Police located and identified two of the men but were unable to locate the third male. The matter is under investigation. A report was received of a semi-truck that had struck a sign in downtown Camrose and continued driving. Police were able to locate and identify the driver of the truck. The driver was charged with fail to remain at the scene of the accident. While on patrol members noted two men in an alley downtown and noted them to both be intoxicated. One of the men was determined to have an outstanding warrant for a traffic related charge. He was released on a promise to appear. A traffic stop was conducted for an equipment violation and police noted the male driver to be under the influence of alcohol. It was determined that the driver had a learner’s license and did not have proper supervision. He was issued an AZAT license suspension for 30 days and his vehicle was seized for 7 days. He was also charged accordingly under the traffic safety act. May 11, 2018 Police located and seized a stolen late model Ford F350 which had been stolen out of Sherwood Park. Police have developed leads and charges are pending. Police were contacted by a cab driver regarding a couple who were in a heated argument in his vehicle. When the cab driver attempted to intervene the situation escalated and Police attended and mediated the situation. Police received a complaint of an abandoned quad on 39 street adjacent to the airport. The quad was seized and Police are looking for the rightful owner. May 10, 2018 A 33 year old male from Sedgewick was arrested on outstanding warrants. The prolific property offender was wanted for theft of copper wire in the Killam area. A John Deere excavator attachment for a compact tractor was stolen from a backyard on 46 street in the 4600 block. The attachment valued at $6000 is very heavy and suspects likely utilized a picker truck to load the item onto a truck. Please contact Police if you have any information regarding this incident. Police attended to an address after receiving information that the female resident was going to harm herself. The female had agreed to attend St. Mary’s hospital. An elderly female in pajamas and bare feet was at someone’s door lost and confused. After some time Police were able to determine where the lady resided and she was transported to her proper address. Her daughter was sleeping and did not realize her mother had left the residence. May 9, 2018 A male with outstanding warrants attended the front counter of the Police station. On two separate occasions Police had attempted to conduct a traffic stop of the vehicle he was driving which resulted in the male driving away at a high rate of speed. The male was charged with two counts of criminal flight from Police, dangerous driving and theft of fuel. A male was arrested for breaching his no contact conditions with a female. During his arrest he was found to be in possession of a quantity of cannabis marihuana. The male was charged with breaching his probation and possession of a controlled substance. May 8, 2018 Nothing to report. May 7, 2018 A 911 Curb the Danger call was received of a possible impaired driver traveling north on 53 street. Police located the vehicle stopped on the side of the road near the Braim subdivision. The male driver, who displayed obvious signs of alcohol impairment, was arrested and provided samples of his breath that were nearly four times the legal limit. The 48 year old was charged with unlawfully having care and control of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol, failing to obey a stop sign, transporting open liquor and two counts of breaching his alcohol conditions. The male advised Police that he was driving from Lloydminster to Calgary! This individual was a serious public safety risk and Police would like to thank the complainant for keeping their Eyes on Camrose and placing the Curb the Danger call. A 2003 Ford F150 pick-up stolen from 73 street in the 4400 block was recovered by Police in the Stettler area. The owner who was out of town was unaware that his vehicle had been stolen. Police responded to a 911 hang-up phone call and attended to the address. Police entered the residence after a witness heard a threat being made and a female crying inside the suite. The involved couple were involved in a verbal argument with no indication of a physical assault occurring. The couple who were both under the influence of alcohol and drugs were separated for the night. May 5, 2018 A traffic stop was conducted and Police noted an occupant in the vehicle to be intoxicated by alcohol. Police checks determined that the he was bound by a court order with a condition not to consume alcohol. He was arrested and charged then released on a promise to appear. Police responded to a collision at the intersection of 48 Avenue and Highway 26. A westbound vehicle on 48 Avenue and a northbound vehicle travelling from the service road collided causing one of the vehicles to roll on its side. Both drivers were treated for minor injuries. The collision is being investigated. A male youth was arrested for an outstanding probation warrant. He was released on a promise to appear. Police conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle and noted the 23 year old driver to be intoxicated. The man was arrested for impaired driving and provided two breath samples of 180 mg%. He was charged with impaired driving and driving over 80 mg%. He was released on a promise to appear. May 4, 2018 A loss prevention officer at a west-end business contacted Police after apprehending three females who were shoplifting. One of the three was determined to be responsible and she was charged with theft and possession of stolen property. The female also had an outstanding warrant and provided a false name to Police. She was additionally charged with obstruction. Police received a theft compliant from a west-end business. After reviewing video surveillance the suspect was identified and charges are pending. While conducting a checkstop Police observed an odor of marihuana coming from inside a vehicle. A 30 year old female was charged with possession of a controlled substance after Police located a quantity of cannabis marihuana. May 3, 2018 A 1985 pick-up truck stolen from 51 avenue and 48 street was recovered a few blocks down the street. The door and ignition had been damaged by the suspect. A complaint was received of a suspicious vehicle on the east end of Camrose. The vehicle was located by Police and the 24 year old driver had a warrant for driving without insurance. He was arrested and later released on a promise to appear. Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle when it was observed that the male driver was not wearing his seatbelt. The male failed to stop for Police and drove away at a high rate of speed. The male has been identified and is now facing charges of dangerous driving and flight from Police. A male reported that someone stole his long board from his residence on 48 street in the 4800 block. The matter is being investigated. Complaint of a break & enter into five storage units at one of the storage facilities. The owners of the property in each unit are being contacted to determine if any property was stolen. A west-end business contacted Police regarding a suspicious male in their store. Police attended and determined that the male had stolen property on his person. He was arrested and charged with theft and possession of stolen property. He was issued a trespass prohibiting him from returning to the business. May 2, 2018 Nothing to report. May 1, 2018 A 2003 GMC Sierra pick-up truck was located abandoned at Augustana. The vehicle had been stolen from the county of Beaver on April 3, 2018. An employee at a west-end business reported a theft. Police viewed video surveillance and identified the male and female responsible for the theft. Police are attempting to locate the two individuals and charges will be laid in relation to the occurrence. Police responded to two complaints of fighting inside of residences. In both situations Police mediated the situations and parties were separated to prevent further issues. April 30, 2018 A resident on 60 street in the 5400 block reported that his white 2000 Ford F250 was stolen from his driveway. The pick-up truck had a red 2010 Polaris 550 quad in the box. A neighbor observed the vehicle leaving the residence at about 3:15 AM. A male reported that he observed two men in a flat black GM pick-up truck exit their vehicle and remove a license plate from a van which was parked at the airport. Police contacted the registered owner of the van and determined that it had been stolen. A traffic stop resulted in a 32 year old male being charged with operating a motor vehicle without insurance, registration or license plate. The male was also operating the vehicle without a driver’s license. April 29, 2018 A male reported that his white 2002 Cadillac Escalade was stolen overnight while parked on 57 street in the 5200 block. The vehicle had been left unlocked. A 2013 Chrysler 300 that was stolen overnight was recovered northeast of Camrose. The vehicle was abandoned by the suspects after removing several parts. A male reported that his red & white Specialized Hardrock mountain bike was stolen from under his apartment building landing on 47 avenue in the 5300 block. A vehicle was stopped by Police and the male driver had a suspended license. The male also had warrants out of Innisfail and Edson for driving offences and failing to attend. The male was arrested on a total of ten outstanding warrants. Police received a 911 call of an impaired driver after a female was dragged alongside his vehicle while she attempted to stop him from driving. The vehicle was not located by Police but the 27 year old driver was identified and is facing charges of dangerous driving. A report was received of two people on the roof of Our Lady Mount Pleasant School. Two youths were located behind the school with an assortment of alcoholic beverages. The youth were issued tickets for a minor possessing liquor. A Curb the Danger call was made by a local liquor store after an intoxicated male attempted to purchase liquor but was refused. The male drove away in a vehicle which was described to Police. The vehicle was located and the male was arrested for impaired driving. The 34 year old provided samples of his breath which exceeded the legal limit and he was subsequently charged with impaired driving and operating a motor vehicle while over the legal limit. April 28, 2018 Police attended a central address for a report of a stolen 2013 Chrysler 300. The vehicle was later recovered in the early morning in a rural location outside of Camrose. The vehicle was missing its mirrors and a window. The investigation is ongoing. A second vehicle was stolen from a north end address. A 2002 white Cadillac Escalade went missing some time overnight. It is unknown at this point whether the two thefts are related. A female was located that had a warrant for her arrest for breaching her conditions of parole. She was located at a local motel and lodged into custody. Police received a complaint of a possible impaired driver in the east end of Camrose. The reported vehicle was located and the male driver showed signs of consumption. He failed the roadside screening test and was arrested for impaired driving. He provided samples of 130 mg% and 120mg% and later released to a sober adult. While on patrol, Police stopped a vehicle and determined the driver was a suspended driver. He also had 10 outstanding warrants for his arrest. The male driver’s vehicle was also seized. April 27, 2018 Police conducted a Checkstop along Grand Drive and a vehicle was noted to be backing back up the hill away from the Checkstop. The vehicle was located and a traffic stop was conducted. The driver was found to not possess a driver’s license and she was issued a ticket. A traffic stop was conducted on Camrose Drive in the area of 50th Street. The male driver showed signs of alcohol consumption and subsequently failed a roadside screening device test. He was arrested for impaired driving and provided breath samples which measured 110 and 100mg%. The male driver was charged with impaired driving, driving over 80mg%, illegal conveyance of liquor and speeding. While conducting patrols a male was viewed urinating in a parking lot across from a licensed premise. The male was issued a ticket for urinating in public. A male was viewed walking on 47 Avenue in the area of the hospital and he was noted to be carrying a hospital road sign. The sign was seized, the male was issued a ticket for public intoxication and the sign was returned to its appropriate post. April 26, 2018 A serious collision occurred just west of Camrose on highway 13 which required the highway to be closed for approximately five hours while Police investigated. It appears that a westbound car pulled over to the side of the road and was conducting a U-turn when it was struck by a truck that was traveling directly behind it. The 77 year old male in the car had to be extracted from his vehicle by the Fire Department. The male was transferred to the U of A hospital by STARS air ambulance. The loss prevention officer from a west-side business contacted Police after apprehending two youths who were shoplifting. Police determined that that one of the youth had stolen merchandise from two other stores. The youth was referred to the Youth Justice Committee and the second youth was given a warning under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle which resulted in a female passenger attempting to run from Police. The female was breaching her curfew and also had a warrant for three additional counts of breaching her probation. The female was arrested and is waiting on a bail hearing. A male who was determined to be responsible for causing damage to a local bar was identified and charged with mischief. A citizen contacted Police when he observed a red Ford Explorer spinning in circles on the Camrose golf course. The male provided a license plate of the vehicle and Police were able to identify the youth responsible. Charges are pending. Eyes on Camrose! Police attended to a residence on 48 street in the 5200 block regarding a domestic situation. The heated verbal argument was mediated and the involved individuals were separated for the night. April 25, 2018 A citizen walking in the area of 64 street and 38 avenue observed a rifle laying in the grass near the back-alley. The rusted .22 caliber rifle was seized and appeared to have been abandoned for quite some time. A loss prevention officer at a west-end business contacted Police after attempting to apprehend a shoplifter. The female left prior to Police arrival but video surveillance was used to identify her. The female was located and she was also in the company of a male with whom she had conditions not to have contact with. The female was arrested and charged with theft, possession of stolen property and two counts of breaching her probation. April 24, 2018 A license plate was stolen from a vehicle while parked on 50 avenue in the 4300 block. Police received complaint of a theft from a west-end business. The suspect had left prior to Police arrival. Video surveillance is being utilized to identify the suspect. April 23, 2018 Police attended a residence after receiving information that a male was holding a female against her will. When the male answered the door a female’s voice was heard inside so Police entered to ensure her safety. The confrontational male with conditions not to have contact with the female resisted his arrest and assaulted one of the Police officers. The 35 year old was charged with resisting arrest, assaulting a Police officer, two counts of breaching conditions of his probation and one count of breaching a court order. A complaint was received of a male and female arguing in a hotel room. Police attended and after identifying the individuals it was determined that the female was currently on parole. A small quantity of cocaine was observed inside the room and the drug was seized without charges. The female’s parole officer was advised of the occurrence. April 22, 2018 Police arrested a 57 year old man for numerous warrants out of our service and the Edmonton Police Service. The man failed to pay his outstanding fines and he will be transported to the Remand Centre. Police pulled over a motor vehicle and arrested a 32 year old man who was out past his curfew. He was arrested and charged with two counts of breaching his probation order. A youth who was also inside of the vehicle had warrants for her arrest and was later released to her mother. A homeowner called Police advising an intoxicated male was banging on their door and attempting to get inside. A 29 year old man was arrested for prevention of breach of peace. He was charged with Public Intoxication and was later released from custody. A man called advising his girlfriend was intoxicated and was causing problems inside of the home. Members attended and mediated the argument. Both agreed to go to bed for the evening. April 21, 2018 A west end business reported that a male subject was in the business and he stuffed a collection of jeans into his jacket and fled from the store. The theft is still under investigation. A local cab company reported that a male had used their services and then failed to pay the bill. The male is known to Police and attempts are being made to locate him and lay charges. Staff at a downtown license premise reported that an upset male left the bar and when he went out the door he broke the door window. The male responsible stated that it was an accident and was willing to pay for the damage. Business staff agreed to him paying for the window and payment was made. A 911 call was received of a male who had been punched while in the parking lot of a downtown licensed premise. Police and EMS attended and witnesses in the area provided a description of the subject responsible. Video surveillance will be obtained in an attempt to identify the subject. Police were notified of an assault that occurred while a cab driver was on duty. He stated that he picked up a fare and one of the occupants was belligerent and when he was dropped of the client reached through the window and grabbed the cab drivers toque. The cab driver got out of the cab to retrieve his toque and the male punched him in the face. The male responsible for the assault was located a short time later and he was arrested. A second male lied about his name during the investigation and was arrested and charged for obstruction and breaching his probation order. April 20, 2018 Police were advised by a business in the east end industrial area that they had several vehicle batteries stolen from their compound overnight. At 8:00 AM staff at Peavey Mart contacted Police when a suspicious male brought in several batteries on their exchange program. Police immediately attended but the male fled when the transaction wasn’t going as smoothly as he had anticipated. In the parking lot Police located a female sitting inside a pick-up truck which contained the stolen batteries. The female was arrested and the vehicle was searched resulting in Police locating break-in tools and a quantity of methamphetamine. The 38 year old from Leduc was charged with Break & Enter, Theft, Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of Break-in Tools and Possession of a controlled substance. The involved male has been identified as having Canada Wide warrants for his arrest and a large criminal record for property crimes. He was also recently involved in a high speed pursuit in Edmonton when the vehicle he was operating failed to stop for Police. A warrant has been issued for his arrest. Police were made aware of a female who had sent a disturbing message and picture to her sister through social media indicating that she was going to harm herself. Police located the female who agreed to attend St. Mary’s hospital to receive assistance. Police were contacted by a business in the industrial area of a suspicious black Ford F350 that appeared to be casing out their property. An employee had confronted the males in the vehicle who then sped away and could not be located. There has been an increase in these type of occurrences in the industrial area. During the night Police received a complaint from a citizen that four men were looking into the windows of a business. The males were located and one of the four had an outstanding warrant out of British Columbia. The male was arrested and is waiting on a bail hearing. While Police were in the Mt. Pleasant area they were approached by a male who believed that a female was being assaulted in his apartment building. Police quickly attended to the apartment and could clearly hear a female being assaulted. Police entered the residence to find a male assaulting the female. The male was arrested and the female provided a statement indicating a history of assaults and a sexual assault. The 23 year old male was charged with six counts of assault and one count of sexual assault. April 19, 2018 Police observed a female with an outstanding warrant walking near the courthouse. The female was placed under arrest and searched resulting in Police locating a small quantity of methamphetamine. The 24 year old was charged with possession of a controlled substance. Police were contacted by a gas station after a suspect put $50 of fuel in their vehicle and left without making payment. Police are investigating. The loss prevention officer at a west-end business contacted Police after apprehending two shoplifters. The involved 24 year old male had multiple warrants out of Calgary and the 30 year old female had warrants from Camrose. Both were arrested and the female was additionally charged with theft. April 18, 2018 While conducting general patrols Police observed two males walking along Mt. Pleasant Drive. Police recognized one of the males as having a no contact condition with the other male. The 34 year old was arrested and during a search Police found him to be in possession of a small quantity of methamphetamine. The male was charged with breaching his conditions and for possession of a controlled substance. April 17, 2018 A collision occurred at the intersection of 49 avenue and 48 street involving a city front end loader and a vehicle. The eastbound vehicle failed to stop at the stop sign, entered the intersection and was struck by the southbound loader. The license of the 84 year old driver of the vehicle is under review. A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle and Police observed an odor of Cannabis Marihuana and the driver displayed signs of alcohol consumption. After providing samples of his breath, it was determined that the driver’s blood alcohol concentration was under the legal limit. Being a GDL driver the 39 year old’s license was suspended for 30 days under the Alberta Zero Alcohol and Drug Tolerance program and his vehicle was seized for 7 days. April 16, 2018 A female contacted Police when she located a lost elderly man in the downtown area. The 91 old was returned to his residence. A male who was being investigated for an assault on a former girlfriend attended Police headquarters. The male was charged with one count of assault and released on a Promise to Appear with conditions. Police attended St. Mary’s hospital to assist with a patient who had overdosed on medications. The 48 year old male was being uncooperative with staff and Police were able to mediate the situation and left in their care. April 15, 2018 A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle exceeding the speed limit on Camrose Drive. The three male occupants were placed under arrest when Police observed an odor of Cannabis Marihuana coming from the interior of the vehicle. A search located a small quantity of the drug which was destroyed on scene. The 21 year old driver was charged with speeding and a 20 year old passenger was given a ticket for transporting open liquor. A 911 call was received from a female stating she had been assaulted by her husband. Police attended a residence on Erickson Drive and the intoxicated male was attempting to leave the home. The female had visible injuries and described the assault to Police which included her husband threatening to harm her if she called 911. The 61 year old male was arrested and charged with assault and uttering threats. April 14, 2018 Police received a report of a fraud through Facebook which indicated that the recipient had won the lottery. The catch was that a processing fee had to be paid to claim the prize. The recipient had not sent the money but wanted Police and the community to be aware of the fraud. A break & enter occurred in the east-end industrial area. A lock was cut on an entrance gate and the suspects then stole a large quantity of electrical cable. Police are investigating the theft. Police responded to a single motor vehicle collision at 50 street in the 4700 block. Witnesses on scene identified the male driver who had been driving in an erratic manner before crashing into a tree on the boulevard. The driver provided samples of his breath that were under the legal limit. The 20 year old from Daysland was a GDL driver so his license was subsequently suspended under the Alberta Zero Alcohol and Drug Tolerance program. The male was issued tickets for careless driving and operating a motor vehicle contrary to license conditions. Police observed a youth walking along 48 avenue late at night past his curfew conditions. Upon his arrest a small quantity of Cannabis Marihuana was located on his person. The male was charged with breaching conditions of his probation and with possession of a controlled substance. Police received a 911 call regarding an assault which had just occurred. Police attended the residence on 53 street in the 5200 block and identified a male who was responsible for the assault to the other individual. The male then ran out the front door and Police were unable to locate him. A warrant for his arrest has been issued. April 13, 2018 A senior received a phone call from a scammer who indicated she had won the STARS lottery and that she needed to send $465 to claim her prize. Payment was sent and attempts are being made to cancel the transaction. Please protect yourself and ensure all your family members are aware of such scams. Police attended and apartment building on Mt. Pleasant Drive after receiving a complaint of yelling inside the building. The involved male had left prior to arrival but Police received a second phone call that he was back in the building. The male who was not a resident was escorted out of the property and served a trespass notice prohibiting him from returning. A mother contacted Police indicating that her 22 year old son was high on drugs and out of control. Upon Police arrival the mother was physically restraining her son outside the residence as he was attempting to drive away on a motorcycle. The male, who was clearly under the influence of drugs, was detained and transported by EMS to St. Mary’s hospital. Police searched his residence and located 40 grams of methamphetamine, 50 grams of cocaine and 10 grams of what is believed to be fentanyl. April 12, 2018 An unlocked vehicle was rummaged through overnight while parked at the rear of a residence on Montclare avenue. A Curb the Danger call was received after a witness observed a black Chev truck hit a parked car on 49 avenue in the 5400 block. A second call came in when another witness observed the same vehicle being driven erratically, park and then two occupants ran from the vehicle. Thanks to those witnesses Police were able to quickly arrive on scene and the two individuals were identified. The male driver displayed signs of alcohol consumption and a roadside screening test was obtained resulting in a reading under the legal limit. Being a GDL driver the 19 year old received a 30 day license suspension under the Alberta Zero Alcohol and Drug Tolerance program. Further checks determined that the male was in possession of a small quantity of cocaine and he was on conditions not to consume alcohol. He was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance, failing to comply with his conditions as well as driving left of center. Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with a missing headlight. During the stop grounds were formed to search the vehicle resulting in Police locating a quantity of Cannabis Marihuana, Resin, and Cocaine. The 44 year old male from Taber was arrested and charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance, failing to produce insurance documents and for the missing headlight. While conducting bar checks Police located two individuals who appeared to be under age. The first youth was honest and provided his name and age to Police. His parents were contacted and they attended the bar and took their son home. The second youth was dishonest with Police and lied about his age for an extended period of time. He was subsequently charged with being a minor in a licensed premise and removed from the bar. April 11, 2018 As a result of an ongoing investigation, Police on April 9, 2018 conducted a traffic stop of a motor vehicle which was believed to be transporting a large quantity of illicit drugs. The male driver was arrested under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and his vehicle was searched resulting in Police locating and seizing the following: 4800 grams (10.5 lbs.) of Cannabis Marihuana 2270 grams (5.0 lbs.) of Psilocybin (“magic mushrooms”) $8,270 cash Norman David Bloomfield (44) of Camrose was charged with two counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and one count of Proceeds of Crime over $5,000. Bloomfield’s first appearance in Camrose Provincial court is on April 11th , 2018. The potential street value of the drugs seized in the investigation is $82,000.

April 10, 2018 A west-end business reported a theft which had occurred on the previous Sunday. Police are investigating the incident. Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance on Mt. Pleasant Drive. The male and female were involved in a verbal argument and the situation was mediated. Police received a Curb the Danger call regarding a possible impaired driver near Enevold and Parkview Drive. The complainant provided a license plate number and Police located the vehicle parked at the registered owner’s residence. An intoxicated male was located inside the home but Police had no evidence to confirm that he was actually the driver. April 9, 2018 A west-end business reported that their storage compound had been broken into overnight and approximately 40 used car batteries were stolen. Police are investigating. Police received a report of people yelling at a residence on Mount Pleasant Drive. Police attended where a female and her boyfriend were involved in a verbal argument. The situation was mediated and the male agreed to stay elsewhere for the evening. April 8, 2018 Police received a theft complaint from a downtown business where a suspect had stolen merchandise. The matter is under investigation. A complaint was received of an intoxicated man who was unable to take care of himself in the public. The man was arrested for public intoxication and was released when he was sober without charges. A traffic stop was conducted and Police identified the 50 year old driver of the vehicle to have outstanding warrants for driving a motor vehicle without insurance. The man was arrested and once he paid his $2875.00 fine he was released. April 7, 2018 A homeowner called Police requesting assistance in removing guests from his residence. Members attended and the youths in the home agreed to leave. One of the youths had a warrant for his arrest. The youth was released to appear in Camrose Provincial Court. A local business called Police advising a male was inside of the business and was being inappropriate to staff members on a previous occasion. A 57 year old man was given a trespass notice not to attend the business. Police recovered stolen property from a break and enter in Holden, Alberta. The owner was notified to attend to pick-up his property. A local hotel called advising a male and female were arguing inside of the building. Members attended and spoke with a 39 year old woman. The woman agreed to go back to her room for the night. The male fled prior to Police arrival. Police spoke with a woman who was having issues with a male sending her continuous texts and leaving her notes at her work. A 19 year old male was spoken to and agreed to stop communicating with the woman. Police conducted a vehicle stop and arrested the 37 year old male driver for operating a motor vehicle while being suspended. The male was released to appear in court. April 6, 2018 An employee contacted Police advising a male left the business inside of his vehicle and was intoxicated. A search located the vehicle and arrested the driver for impaired driving. The male was brought back to the Police Service where he provided two samples with results of 160mg%. A 30 year old man was charged with impaired driving and driving over the legal limit. A complaint was received that a man was leaving a residence and was in the process of driving his vehicle. Members attended and located the male outside of his vehicle. The male agreed not to drive and he was left in the care of a sober adult. Police received a complaint that a male was having mental health issues. The male was located and had family support and did not need medical assistance. A 38 year old man was arrested on outstanding warrants out of Edmonton. The male was released to appear in Provincial Court. Police received a noise complaint that occupants inside of a home were yelling at each other. Members attended and mediated the argument. A youth was located inside of the home under the influence of alcohol contrary to her release conditions. The youth was charged and released to her mother. April 4, 2018 Police responded to a residence on 50 street in the 5400 block after a youth reported that she had been assaulted by her mother. Police determined that an assault had not occurred but a male on scene was responsible for issues inside the home. The male refused to provide his name to Police. The 23 year old was arrested and charged with obstruction when his identity was confirmed. Police were advised that an airplane had driven into the ditch during takeoff at the airport. The cause of the collision was due to human error by the pilot who was in training. There was no damage to the twin engine plane or to the airport. The Transport Safety Board was notified. A female contacted Police stating that her boyfriend had overdosed on sleeping pills. Police attended and the male who was under the influence of alcohol and drugs was transported to St. Mary’s hospital by EMS. Police responded to numerous motor vehicle collisions throughout the day. Traffic volume has increased in certain areas of the city due to the bridge construction on 48 avenue. Please use extra caution on these bypass routes. April 3, 2018 A male reported that someone had deposited cheques into his account and then withdrew the money. The transactions appear to have been done via a mobile banking app. Police are investigating. On January 12, 2018 the gas tanks on two pick-up trucks were drilled during the night while they were parked in the area of 50 street in the 5200 block. One of the vehicle owners had video surveillance which showed a male with a jerry can walk up and then crawl underneath his truck. A 29 year old male was identified and charged with two counts of mischief and two counts of theft. April 2, 2018 A 47 year old male was charged with failing to report a collision. The hit & run occurred in front of a residence after the male struck a parked vehicle and then left the scene of the collision. A male reported that his laptop was stolen from inside his vehicle while parked on 53 street in the 5400 block. The vehicle was not locked at the time of the theft. While conducting a checkstop on 50 avenue Police observed a vehicle stop and then drive backwards to avoid going through the checkstop. The vehicle was stopped and a quantity of cannabis marihuana was located inside the vehicle. The 35 year old male was charged with possession of a controlled substance. April 1, 2018 While conducting a check stop, a vehicle aggressively attempted to evade entering the check stop. Police were able to locate the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Upon speaking to the driver, a strong odor of marihuana was detected. The driver was placed under arrest for possessing a controlled substance. The 35 year old male was charged with possessing marihuana and driving in a manner that distracted other users of the roadway. He was released to appear in court at a later date. A vehicle entered a check stop that police were conducting. While speaking to the driver an odor of marihuana was detected. The subsequent investigation located a quantity of marihuana and marihuana resin. The 29 year old male was released on scene to appear in court at a later date. Police attended a collision where the offending driver did not remain at the scene of the collision. The investigation was able to identify and locate the driver. The 47 year old male was issued a traffic ticket for failing to remain at the scene of a collision. March 31, 2018 Two unlocked vehicles parked on 48 street in the 4700 block were entered overnight. Nothing appeared to be stolen from either vehicle. On March 15, 2018 a theft of fuel occurred at a local gas station. The image of the suspect was posted on the Camrose Police Service Facebook page and the male was identified. The male attended the Police station and was charged with one count of theft. A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle with an obscured license plate. The male driver displayed signs of intoxication and failed the roadside screening test. A search of his vehicle was conducted and Police located a knife in the center console. The male who was on conditions not to consume alcohol or possess edged weapons was arrested and transported to Police headquarters where he provided samples of his breath that exceeded the legal limit. The 32 year old from Sedgewick was charged with impaired driving, two counts of breaching his conditions, obscured license plate and unlawful conveyance of alcohol. A 55 year old male was charged with operating a vehicle without a valid license after Police stopped a vehicle that he was driving in the industrial area. A 49 year old male passenger was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Edmonton. Both individuals have a history of property crime. March 30, 2018 A male reported that his 22 caliber rifle was stolen from inside his pick-up truck while parked on 46th avenue in the 7400 block. A male who had assaulted another male at a local bar turned himself into Police. The male was charged with assault causing bodily harm and released on a promise to appear. A youth that was reported missing by her parents was located by Police and returned to her father’s residence. March 29, 2018 Nothing to Report March 28, 2018 Police were dispatched to a local bar regarding a male who was causing a disturbance. The male was challenging people to fights inside the bar and then made verbal threats to the bartender. Police located the male and determined that he had conditions not to consume alcohol or be inside a licensed premise. The 48 year old was also very aggressive toward Police. He was arrested and charged with uttering threats, three counts of breaching conditions of his probation and detrimental conduct in a licensed premise. A local hotel contacted Police advising of a black Dodge truck that was parked on their property since Friday. Police determined the vehicle had been stolen out of Onoway. Police received a complaint of a large house party on 51 avenue in the 5400 block. Police attended and determined that a youth had invited a few friends over which resulted in about 50 people attending the residence. The party was shut down by Police and parents of youth who had been consuming alcohol were contacted. The parent responsible for the property was issued an excessive noise violation ticket contrary to city bylaws. March 27, 2018 Police responded to a residence in response to assault allegations. While at the residence Police observed that the involved 31 year old female and 32 year old male were both intoxicated and had minor visible injuries. Neither person was cooperative with Police. The male was arrested on outstanding RCMP matters. Police received a call of a male stuck between a fence and a building. A 55 year old male who is well known to Police was under the influence of illicit drugs. Once freed from his predicament EMS attended but the male refused treatment. The male was left in the care of a friend. A female reported that her purse was missing from her vehicle while parked in 42 Ave Close in the 7300 block. Her vehicle had been left unlocked. A youth reported that his Trek bike was stolen while he was at the Aquatic Centre. The bike was left unlocked. A drug store reported that two females left without paying for items. They have both been identified and charges will be laid. Police were advised of a male who had sent concerning pictures which indicated he may want to harm himself. The male was located by Police and admitted to feeling depressed. The male agreed to be transported to St. Mary’s hospital. March 26, 2018 A male reported that he had been punched in the eye by another male while dancing at a local night club. The male’s eye was very swollen and required stitches. Police are investigating the assault. Stettler RCMP advised that they recovered a stolen black Ford F-150 with some clothing and mail that belonged to a break & enter in Camrose. Although similar, the recovered truck was not the same vehicle as stolen from Camrose. A female contacted Police to advise that her vehicle had been entered in the past couple of nights while parked on 75 street in the 4600 block. Incident is believed to be related to the break and enter files from two nights ago. March 25, 2018 A male attended the Police service and advised that at about 1:00 AM that morning he had been assaulted outside a local licensed premise. The 25 year old stated he was outside chatting with a cab driver when a group of males approached him and started an argument over the taxi. The male was then punched a couple times in the jaw by one of the males. The victim did not report the incident at the time. The male attended St. Mary’s hospital where he was diagnosed with a fractured jaw and a broken tooth which required surgery. Police are investigating the assault. A female who was conducting checks on her credit record discovered that there were three FIDO accounts set up in her name in Ontario with a total of $2500 in outstanding services. The incident dated back to October of 2017 where someone used her personal information including Social Insurance Number to set up the accounts. Police are investigating. On Saturday evening March 24, police responded to a complaint of a barricaded male with access to firearms west of the downtown core. Police were concerned for the wellbeing of the individual involved as well as a child who was in the residence. Police were unable to establish meaningful dialogue therefore in the interests of public safety, the RCMP Emergency Response Team and crisis negotiators were activated. The matter was eventually resolved without incident and the male was taken into custody. The male will be appearing in court to answer to charges of unlawful confinement, uttering threats and various weapons offences. The Camrose Police Service wishes to thank the public for their patience and apologizes for any inconvenience to residents who may have been directly impacted. March 24, 2018 Police received a 911 Curb the Danger call after a motorist observed a vehicle driving all over the road nearly striking a street sign. Police located the vehicle on 48b avenue in the 6000 block. The 54 year old male driver displayed obvious signs of impairment and he was arrested for impaired driving. After being adamant that he would not provide a sample of his breath the male was charged with refusing to provide a breath sample, impaired driving and dangerous driving. At 3:53 AM a male reported that he caught a group of people trying to break into his vehicle parked in front of his residence at 57 street in the 2500 block. After a confrontation the suspects fled to a truck parked down the street. Police attended to the area but could not locate the suspects. Police were able to seize evidence at the scene and are continuing their investigation. At 6:21 AM a male reported that his black 2008 Ford F-150 had been stolen from his residence on 75 street in the 4500 block. At 7:30 AM another resident reported that his vehicle had been entered overnight while parked on 42 avenue in the 7300 block. The suspects used the garage door opener in the vehicle to enter the attached garage. The suspects then entered the house where they stole several jackets as well as ammunition from the garage. All three instances of are believed to involve the same suspects. March 23, 2018 Two individuals contacted Police concerned about their friend who had made comments that he was going to harm himself. Police located the male in his vehicle on the outskirts of Camrose. The male was transported to St. Mary’s hospital after he consented to see a doctor. March 22, 2018 Police conducted a vehicle stop and could smell an odour of cannabis marihuana coming from inside of the vehicle. Police arrested the 23 year old driver of the vehicle. Police seized 12 grams of cannabis marihuana and the man was subsequently charged with possession of a controlled substance and released on a promise to appear. A business on the west end reported that a male had stolen merchandise from the store. The 44 year old man was identified and issued a trespass notice. Police came across a man who was determined to have an outstanding form 21 warrant for driving without insurance. He was arrested and lodged into custody until his fine is paid or he serves his time. March 21, 2018 Police arrested a man who had outstanding warrants out of the Edmonton Police Service. He was released on a promise to appear. Police responded to a family dispute that was occurring inside of a residence. The situation was mediated and the two involved parties were separated. March 20, 2018 Police were contacted by a concerned parent whose son was acting nonsensical and made comments which were interpreted that he may want to harm himself. Police located the male and he willingly attended St. Mary’s hospital. A female reported that she had been assaulted in September of 2016 by a former boyfriend. Police are investigating. March 19, 2018 Police received a complaint that the female had been belligerent with staff at the Smith Clinic and was asked to leave. Police then received a second complaint of a male and female arguing in the Duggan Mall parking lot. Police located and identified the two individuals. The male who was from Edmonton was arrested for breaching conditions of his probation as he was not to have contact with the female. The 32 year old was remanded into custody. A female reported that her grey iPhone 6S was stolen from the Tap Room the night prior. The phone had a pink sparkly case and also contained her driver’s license. Police attended a two vehicle collision at 52B avenue and 46 street. It was determined that one of the vehicles exited an alley and struck the other vehicle. The male driver was charged with operating a vehicle without a license and failing to proceed in safety. During the investigation a female passenger in the vehicle was arrested on outstanding warrants. The 22 year old had warrants out of Edmonton on 74 outstanding fraud charges. The female is in custody waiting on a bail hearing. March 18, 2018 Police responded to a complaint of a domestic assault that occurred in a residence where a man had assaulted his girlfriend and utter threats to kill her. A 36 year old man was arrested and charged with three counts of assault and one count of uttering threats. The man had a bail hearing and was released on a no cash recognizance with conditions. A man turned himself in on an outstanding warrant and he was released on a promise to appear. A complaint was received of a man and a woman causing a disturbance inside of a local restaurant. The subjects were identified and served trespass notices. Police were called to a fight occurring at a licensed premise where a male was assaulted. The matter is under investigation. Police received a complaint of an intoxicated female who had driven away from a residence in Camrose. Police located the vehicle and arrested the 35 year old woman for impaired driving and she provided breath samples of 180 mg% and 170 mg%. She was charged for impaired driving and driving over .08 and released on a promise to appear. A woman called Police requesting they remove an intoxicated male who was causing problems in a residence. Police attended and arrested a 30 year old man to prevent further breach of peace. He was lodged in cells and released without charges when he was sober. March 17, 2018 A 38 year old man turned himself in on outstanding warrants from an impaired conviction and will be held in custody to serve his sentence. A west end restaurant called Police advising that two males were involved in a physical altercation. Police were able to identify one of the subjects of complaint. The matter is under investigation. Police were called to a complaint of an intoxicated female who was refusing to leave a licensed premise. The 20 year old woman was identified and charged with public intoxication. March 16, 2018 A traffic stop was conducted and police determined that the 28 year old driver of the vehicle had a warrant for his arrest related to unpaid fines. The man was arrested, paid his fines and was released from custody. Police conducted a traffic stop and noted an odour of cannabis marihuana coming from inside of the vehicle. The occupants of the vehicle were arrested and 6 grams of marihuana were seized. The driver of the vehicle was charged with possession of a controlled substance and released on a promise to appear. March 15, 2018 A traffic stop on a vehicle resulted in the male driver being charged with operating a vehicle without registration, insurance or a license plate. Warrants were issued for three individuals who were identified as being responsible for an obtaining food by fraud incident at a local restaurant. On February 27th, the party of three ordered a substantial amount of food and then left without making any attempts to make payment. A west end business apprehended a shoplifter and then contacted Police. The 22 year old female who was caught stealing $80 worth of cosmetics had no prior criminal record and was referred to the Alternative Measures program and issued a trespass notice. Police, the fire department and EMS were dispatched to a house fire on 49 street in the 4700 block. Nobody was injured in the fire but the residence was a total loss. A local gas station reported a theft of fuel. A silver Chev truck put $72 of fuel in his vehicle and then drove away without making payment. Police are investigating. March 14, 2018 Police were advised by a local bar that two male patrons who were involved in a fight. Police identified one of the men as being on probation with a condition not to consume alcohol. The male was arrested and charged with breaching his conditions. The 25 year old was taken to St. Mary’s hospital to deal with an injury he sustained from the consensual fight. Police responded to a complaint of a domestic at a residence. It was determined that a 16 year old youth was punching holes in the walls because his grandparent’s wouldn’t provide him with cigarettes. The situation was mediated. March 13, 2018 Police observed a vehicle stolen out of Edmonton parked at a residence on 49 street in the 5200 block. Police were able to disable the vehicle so when a male driver attempted to drive away, he quickly fled back into the home. Police obtained a warrant to search the residence where the male was hiding. The 28 year old from Edmonton with an extensive record for property related crimes was arrested for Possession of Stolen Property as well as on multiple outstanding warrants for Controlled Drugs and Substances Act offences, Dangerous Weapons & Possession of Stolen Property offences as well as Failing to Comply with his conditions. A 30 year old female also hiding in the residence was arrested on outstanding warrants. Both individuals are in custody waiting on bail hearings. A west end business contacted Police after a male let their business with stolen property. Staff provided a license plate number of the vehicle he was operating and Police are investigating. Police are investigating damage caused to the control box for the traffic control signals at 48 avenue and 39 street. Sometime during the night of Saturday March 10 or early morning hours of Sunday March 11, an unknown person pried open the control cabinet and pulled apart the wiring controlling the traffic lights. A male reported that his truck had been stolen while parked at 74 street in the 4300 block. The vehicle was bearing Alberta license plate BSB4886 at the time of the theft. The vehicle is described as a tan 1997 Chevrolet Silverado extended cab 2 wheel drive truck. March 12, 2018 A male with outstanding warrants observed Police and quickly entered a public building in an attempt to avoid detection. Police entered the building and the male was located and arrested. The owner of a storage facility advised Police that someone broke into three of their rental units. A variety of items were stolen including tires, tools and clothing. Police are investigating. Police were advised by the mental health crisis line that they were contacted by a male who stated he wanted to harm himself. The youth who is known to Police was located outside the community center. The youth was not cooperative with Police and had to be restrained prior to being taken to the Stollery hospital in Edmonton. March 11, 2018 Police received notification of a truck that had been recovered in St. Paul, Alberta that was stolen from Camrose in February. As well, a stolen truck from Killam was recovered behind a west end hotel in Camrose. It was towed and secured for forensic identification work to be conducted on it. On March 5, 2018 a female reported that she was assaulted while at a downtown licensed premise. On March 10 the female responsible for the assault was arrested and charged with one count of assault. March 10, 2018 A traffic stop was conducted for a traffic infraction and Police noted an odour of marihuana coming from inside of the vehicle. The driver was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and police seized 6 grams of cannabis marihuana. The 19 year old man was charged and released on an appearance notice. A business on the west end of the city advised that a male entered their store that was previously served a trespass notice for inappropriate behaviour. The male was apprehended by Police and charged with trespassing. Police conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle and determined that the driver of the vehicle had an outstanding warrant out of the Edmonton Police Service and the Camrose RCMP for property offences. The 30 year old man was arrested and Police noted an open can of alcohol and strong odour of cannabis marihuana inside of the vehicle. Police seized 46 grams of cannabis marihuana and quantities of cannabis shatter and hashish. The driver was charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance and released on a promise to appear. March 9, 2018 Police were contacted by a local business regarding a woman who appeared to be disoriented. The 44 year old was taken to St. Mary’s hospital for an assessment. The Loss Prevention Officer at a west end business contacted Police after observing a male using a pocket knife to open multiple packages of batteries. The 32 year old from Ferintosh was charged with theft and possession of stolen property. March 8, 2018 A traffic stop resulted in the female driver being charged with possession of a controlled substance and transporting open liquor. When Police were speaking with the driver it was observed that she was in possession of a quantity of GHB as well as open liquor inside the vehicle. A male reported that two chainsaws were stolen out of the back of his pick-up. The male had parked his vehicle outside a local bar and when he returned his property was missing. _______________________________________________________________________ On February 28th , 2018 at 6:32 AM Police members surrounded a vehicle after the driver ignored their initial attempts to stop the vehicle in the downtown area. The male driver was identified as 47 year old Jason Quinn Swanson who was bound by two recognizances as a result of drug trafficking charges in Edmonton on October 5, 2017. Swanson was arrested for breaching his conditions and a search located the following: 25.4 grams of methamphetamine 1.3 grams of heroin Black cellular phone with text messages related to drug trafficking Police also searched the vehicle being operated by Swanson resulting in the following: 2 ounces (56.7 grams) of methamphetamine 400 milliliters of GHB 2.4 grams of fentanyl Scale & various drug paraphernalia Break-in tools such as pry bars, bolt cutters, chisels, gloves, flashlights Identification of two individuals who were recent victims of a break-in’s within Camrose county Street value of the drugs seized is estimated at $11,000. Police continued their investigation by obtaining a warrant to search the rural property where Swanson lived. Swanson is in custody and has a first appearance date of March 14, 2018 in Camrose Provincial Court. March 7, 2018 The grandparent scam victimizes once again after a senior transferred $2471 to her “grandson” who stated that he was in trouble and needed money. Police and the bank are investigating. March 6, 2018 A 911 call was received from a woman who provided her address and then screaming could be heard prior to the line being disconnected. The woman fled and drove to the Police station while Police attended the residence. It was determined that the woman had been assaulted by her ex-boyfriend. The male was arrested and charged with assault and uttering threats. A loss prevention officer at a west end business reported that he confronted a female shoplifter who then fled with $120 worth of merchandise in her purse. Police are using video surveillance to identify the female. A traffic stop was conducted on a suspicious vehicle. The male driver failed to produce a valid driver’s license, registration or insurance and he was issued the appropriate violation tickets. A male passenger in the vehicle was arrested on an outstanding warrant and later released with a new date to appear in court. A male on 52 street in the 4200 block contacted Police after he noticed the lights were on and someone was inside his locked garage. The male fled prior to Police arrival but he was located attempting to break into another nearby garage. The 23 year old who was high on drugs was arrested by Police. The male had several stolen items in his possession as well as a quantity of cannabis marihuana and an unknown white powder. The male is facing multiple counts of break & enter to commit theft, possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance. A business in the east end industrial area reported someone had cut the fence of their locked compound and stolen a significant amount of copper cable valued at approximately $10,000. This is the second recent occurrence of this type in the industrial area. March 5, 2018 A west end business reported a theft in progress. Police attended and arrested a female who had $140 worth of merchandise in her purse. The 27 year old was charged with theft and possession of stolen property. Police were contacted by someone concerned for a friend with health issues whom she hadn’t heard from for a few days. Police attended his residence and after gaining access to the home found the male to be in medical distress. EMS attended and transferred the male to St. Mary’s hospital. Staff at a west end business observed someone shoplifting merchandise. When staff confronted the male he gave back the item and then ran from the store. The male was identified by Police and the male will be charged accordingly. _________________________________________________________________________ March 3, 2018 **** The Camrose Police Service is asking for the public’s help in identifying a male suspect involved in a sexual assault case **** In the early morning hours of February 17th, a female reported that she was sexually assaulted by a male inside a downtown licensed establishment in Camrose.

The suspect is believed to be a stranger to the victim and is described as: Caucasian In his 20s Approximately 5’11” Average build Short, light-coloured hair Short, groomed beard The suspect was also described as wearing: A red and black checkered flannel coat with a grey hoodie sticking out at the back Blue jeans with holes in the legs Tan coloured work boots Police are asking anyone who recognizes this man or has any information about this incident to contact the Camrose Police Service at (780) 672-4444. March 3, 2018 A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle and Police observed that the male driver displayed signs of intoxication. The male was arrested and provided samples of his breath which resulted in readings of 140 and 140 mg%. The 24 year old male was charged with impaired driving, driving over 80mg%, a learner driving without supervision, illegal conveyance of liquor and driving left of center. The male also had outstanding warrants for theft and failing to attend court. He was later released on a promise to appear. Police viewed a Ford F150 leave the downtown area quickly after seeing the Police. The vehicle was later found parked behind a downtown business and two occupants were standing outside of it. The driver was issued a ticket for illegal conveyance of liquor as well as driving over a sidewalk. The two male occupants left the area on foot. March 2, 2018 A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle and the male driver displayed signs of intoxication. The male was arrested and provided samples of his breath which resulted in readings of 110 and 100 mg%. The 55 year old was charged with impaired driving. A male contacted Police claiming that he had just been assaulted by his 23 year old common-law. Police determined that it was simply a verbal argument. The situation was mediated and the male agreed to stay at a friend’s house for the night. Police were contacted by a local bank after they located a counterfeit $50 bill in their ATM. The bank note was quite easily recognizable as counterfeit due to the texture of the bill and the numbers on the clear panel were from a $5 bill. If you suspect that a note may be counterfeit the first item to check is that the hidden numbers on the clear panel when held up to a light source matches the value of the bill. March 1, 2018 On February 26, 2018, Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle being operated by Nicholas James Carrier (25) of Camrose. During the course of the vehicle stop, police gathered grounds to believe that he had drugs in his possession, and was subsequently arrested. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of: 240 grams of marihuana 56 grams of shatter (concentrated marihuana extract) Two cell phones $1,080.00 cash A search warrant was then obtained for Carrier’s residence in the Southside Trailer Park, which resulted in seizing the following additional items: 413 grams of marihuana 102 grams of hashish 23 grams of shatter 9 ecstasy pills Scales, baggies and other drug related paraphernalia $3,015.00 cash The total potential street value of the drugs seized in the investigation is $12,396.00. On September 13, 2017 Police dealt with Carrier in a similar occurrence where drugs were located in a vehicle and inside his residence. As a result of that investigation, Carrier was charged with four counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance and one count of Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime. Carrier was released from custody on a recognizance with conditions not to possess any illegal drugs and not to possess more than one cellular telephone. As a result of the February 28, 2018 investigation Carrier was charged with three counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, one count of Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime and three counts of Failing to Comply with Conditions of a Recognizance. As a result of the second drug trafficking occurrence, Carrier was remanded into custody and has a first appearance scheduled for March 7, 2018. Carrier also has a trial date set for May 4, 2018 regarding his first set of charges. Both matters will be heard in the Camrose Provincial court. February 28, 2018 Police received a Curb the Danger phone call regarding an impaired driver. Police located the vehicle and the 66 year old male driver was arrested and provided two samples of his breath resulting in readings of 170 & 180 mg%. The male was subsequently charged with impaired driving. Police were advised of a dine & dash at a local restaurant after two males and two females left without paying their $225 bill. Police are reviewing video surveillance to identify the suspects. A vehicle stop was conducted and the female driver refused to provide her name to Police. The female was arrested and Police located a small quantity of methamphetamine, heroine and morphine inside her vehicle. Once the female was positively identified Police were able to determine that she also had outstanding warrants. The 35 year old was charged with 3 counts of possession of a controlled substance. A male staying at a local hotel contacted Police when two females left his room after stealing his phone, ipad and computer. The females were located at a residence and one of the females took responsibility and returned the property. The 27 year old was charged with theft and possession of stolen property. February 27, 2018 Police were advised by staff at a gas station that an upset male left the business after breaking the glass barrier inside their store. The same male then attended the Police station where he was arrested and charged with mischief. A business contacted Police when they discovered that an employee had stolen $100 worth of merchandise. The 19 year old male employee was charged with theft. Staff at a west end business contacted Police after they apprehended a shoplifter. The female made a purchase in the store but then intentionally failed to make payment for other merchandise. The 39 year old was charged with theft and possession of stolen property. A 911 call was received regarding a male who had a knife and was making threats that he was going to harm himself. While Police were enroute the complainant advised that the male had left the residence with an injury. Police located the male who now had a large cut to his hand. The male was cooperative and remorseful for causing the injury to himself. He was transported to St. Mary’s hospital to receive treatment. A local bar contacted Police regarding a male who appeared to have overdosed on a drug. The male was uncooperative with Police and a quantity of GHB was found on his person. EMS attended and sedated the male and transported him to St. Mary’s hospital. The male is facing charges of possession of a controlled substance and detrimental conduct in a licensed premise. February 26, 2018 Nothing to Report. February 25, 2018 A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle that was exceeding the speed limit. The stop resulted in a 32 year old male from Brooks being charged with no insurance, misuse of a license plate and driving without a driver’s license. Staff at a local bar waived down Police indicating that they needed assistance. A male was causing issues inside the bar and had attempted to punch an employee resulting in him being detained by staff. The male was arrested and lodged due to his level of intoxication. The 20 year old was later released and charged with detrimental conduct in a licensed premise as well charged with fighting under the city bylaw. Police observed a vehicle swerving and a traffic stop was conducted. The male driver displayed signs of intoxication and was arrested for impaired driving. The 20 year old provided samples of his breath resulting in readings of 130 and 120 mg%. When the male was searched Police also located a small quantity of cannabis marijuana. The male was charged with impaired driving and possession of a controlled substance. February 24, 2018 Police responded to a disturbance complaint in the Mt. Pleasant area and while dealing with the matter a 44 year woman was determined to have an outstanding warrant. She was subsequently arrested and later released on a Promise to Appear. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver showed signs of alcohol consumption. The 24 year old male driver failed the roadside screening device test and was arrested for impaired driving. He later provided breath samples of 150 and 160mg%. He was charged with impaired driving, driving over 80mg% and illegal conveyance of liquor. Police received a complaint of a male who had been sleeping in a running vehicle for two hours. When Police arrived, it was determined that the license plate on the vehicle had been reported stolen a few weeks earlier. The vehicle was entered as the subject slept and the keys were removed and the lone male occupant was arrested for possession of stolen property. Further investigation led Police to also arrest him for impaired care and control of a motor vehicle. The 28 year old male provided breath samples of 160 and 150mg%. He was charged with impaired care and control as well as care and control over 80mg%. As well, he was charged with possession of stolen property and illegal conveyance of liquor. February 23, 2018 On September 9, 2017 while conducting patrols in the Valleyview subdivision Police came across an intoxicated male walking down a back-alley. The male was arrested for public intoxication and during a search Police located a substantial amount of cocaine on his person. The male was subsequently arrested and charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. On February 21, 2018 James Richard Parenteau (31) plead guilty to the charge and received a 15 month jail sentence. February 22, 2018 A local gas station reported a theft of fuel. Police reviewed video surveillance and the license plate had been stolen out of Wetaskiwin and it did not match the blue Honda CRV driven by the suspect. The Honda CRV was also determined to be stolen out of Edmonton. Police are attempting to identify the male suspect. A female reported that she cashed a cheque for a male which turned out to be fraudulent. The male suspect who is known to Police had been previously charged with similar offences. Police are investigating this latest fraud. February 21, 2018 A west end business contacted Police after observing two people stealing merchandise. Police attended and intercepted the two individuals as they left the store. A 54 year old female and a 19 year old male were searched and the stolen property was recovered. Both individuals were charged with theft and possession of stolen property. A 2007 Ford F350 stolen from Camrose on February 7, 2018 was recovered in Wetaskiwin. A suspect was arrested and the vehicle was secured at the yard of a tow company. At 4:00 AM a lone male suspect entered the compound, started and then drove the vehicle though the locked gate. The recovered vehicle has once again been listed as stolen. February 20, 2018 Were you a victim of a fraud where you transferred money via Western Union? An investigation revealed that Western Union had knowledge that a massive amount of fraud was occurring but instead of doing something to prevent it, they looked the other way. In a settlement Western Union agreed to pay $586 million to the U.S. Department of Justice which will be refunded to victims. Those eligible to apply are anyone who lost money in a scam involving wiring money through Western Union between January 1, 2004 and January 19, 2017. February 19, 2018 A local licensed premise contacted Police regarding a male who had left the business after consuming alcohol and that he appeared to be very emotional. The male was located by Police in an intoxicated state and was making comments that he was going to harm himself. The male was arrested and lodged. A few hours following his release Police received another call from someone concerned for his wellbeing. Police then located the male at his parent’s home and was left in their care. February 18, 2018 Police attended to a complaint of a fire in the area of 54 Avenue and 50 Street. It was determined the homeowner left a pot on the stove and it caught on fire. Camrose Fire Department attended and dealt with the small fire. A 911 call was received advising a motor vehicle struck a parked vehicle and then collided into a tree on Grand Drive. Members attended and located a 23 year old intoxicated driver. The driver was arrested and brought to the Police Service where she provided two samples with results of 210mg% and 190mg%. The woman was charged with impaired and careless driving. One of the passengers was taken to hospital with minor injuries. A 25 year old woman called Police stating her common-law husband was causing problems inside of the home. The 30 year old male left prior to Police arrival. A short time later the male was located and arrested for public intoxication. He was later released when he was sober. A west end business advised a male left the store without paying for his merchandise. Police located the 32 year old man and charged him with theft and possession of stolen property. February 17, 2018 The owner of an east end business advised sometime overnight the padlock to the compound was cut. Entry was not gained, however video surveillance was obtained showing a lone male cutting the lock and immediately fleeing the area in a vehicle. A homeowner called Police stating that sometime during the night her vacant rental property was broken into. The residence was being renovated and numerous tools were stolen. An east end business advised a male filled up his vehicle with gasoline and drove off without paying. Police checks on the licence plate showed the vehicle to be stolen out of Edmonton. A 48 year old woman was arrested for outstanding warrants. The woman was released to appear in court. Police attended to a complaint of a disturbance at a residence. Members spoke with the couple inside of the home who were having difficulties with their new born child. Police mediated the situation. A mother called advising her son refused to leave the residence after causing problems inside of the home. Members attended and he agreed to leave and return to his home. February 16, 2018 On February 7th , 2018, The Camrose Police Service posted a photograph on the service’s new FACEBOOK account of a male stealing fuel from a local business. After the suspect viewed his photograph on the website, the male (17) contacted Police and admitted to the crime. The male was dealt with through the Youth Justice Program. Police received a report of two 30 pound propane tanks were stolen out of a 5th wheel over the past 24 hours. February 15, 2018 Police were dispatched to a domestic dispute at a residence on 50 ave in the 5400 block. The involved female contacted Police after she fled to her neighbor’s house. The investigation resulted in a 36 year old male being arrested and charged with assault. A loss prevention officer at a west end business apprehended a 55 year old female after observing her steal two small cosmetic items. The female was served with a trespass notice prohibiting her from re-attending the store. February 14, 2018 A vehicle owner contacted Police to report that her license plate had been stolen off of her vehicle overnight. The license plate number was added onto the Canadian Police Information System which will flag the plate as stolen should any officer conduct a check on the license plate number. Police are investigating the theft of copper wire from the east end industrial area. The theft had occurred sometime overnight where the unknown suspect(s) entered a locked compound to gain access to the property. February 13, 2018 Police responded to a collision in the east end of Camrose. A vehicle was stopped at the intersection waiting for traffic when a second vehicle attempted to conduct a right hand turn and collided into the stopped vehicle. It was determined that the second driver was driving too fast for the road conditions and was issued the applicable violation ticket. There was significant damage to both vehicles but fortunately neither driver was injured. February 12, 2018 Nothing to report. February 11, 2018 Police are investigating an assault which had occurred during a social event at the Stoney Creek Centre. A male had been punched in the face by a second male resulting in stitches to his face. Police are gathering additional information from the victim and witnesses. A search of a garage was conducted resulting in Police locating stolen mail and a tablet which was associated to a break & enter in Wetaskiwin. A 47 year old male and owner of the garage was already in Police custody regarding other matters. He was additionally charged with two counts of possession of stolen property and breaching his conditions. February 10, 2018 A citizen called stating a motor vehicle was abandoned in the area of 49 Avenue and 52A Street. Police checks showed the vehicle was stolen on January 25, 2018. The Forensic Unit conducted an examination of the vehicle. The investigation is ongoing. Police received a complaint that a woman had her vehicle stolen from outside of her residence sometime during the night. After an investigation Police located the vehicle. A 47 year old man was arrested for breaching his release conditions and possession of stolen property. A woman contacted Police advising her common-law husband was intoxicated and causing problems inside of the residence. A 32 year old man was located and checks showed he had numerous warrants for his arrest. The man was arrested and brought back to cells until sober. February 9, 2018 A gas station reported a gas & dash which occurred earlier in the day. A male had his hood over his head, was wearing sunglasses to disguise his appearance and drove away in a silver SUV without paying for his fuel. A loss prevention officer advised of a male who stole merchandise and then fled from the store. Staff provided a description of the male and Police are also reviewing video surveillance. A male returned home after being away for a week at work and noticed that tools and car parts were missing from his garage. Police are investigating the occurrence. February 8, 2018 A west end business contacted Police after their Loss Prevention Officer apprehended a shoplifter. The 49 year old male was charged with theft and possession of stolen property and served a trespass notice not to return to the store. Police were advised of second vehicle theft this week. A grey 2007 Ford F350 crew cab truck was stolen from the area of 47 street in the 4500 block. The truck has lighter grey decaling on the side, running boards and chrome plating on the bottom rocker panels. At the time of the theft there was also a mobility aid scooter in the box of the truck. Police received a phone call regarding a person who was being assaulted at a residence on 43 avenue in the 5400 block. Police attended and a 32 year old male was arrested and charged with assault. Police observed two snowmobiles outside a liquor store one of which drove away at a high rate of speed even though Police had activated their emergency lighting to conduct a stop. Police spoke to the other snowmobile operator who provided the name of the driver who didn’t stop. The male will be charged with Off Highway Vehicle related offences as well as failing to stop for Police. February 7, 2018 The owner of a blue 2004 GMC Sierra extended cab truck contacted Police to advise that his vehicle had been stolen overnight. The truck has a light bar mounted on the roof of the cab and is lifted with larger tires. Police are investigating. A female contacted Police indicating that someone had hacked into her Facebook account and convinced her grandmother to send the person $1500. Police were able to determine who was responsible for the fraud and he will be charged accordingly. A business in the Cornerstone shopping district advised that two individuals were in the store and had stolen merchandise. Police were able to identify the suspects and charges are pending. A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle with two male occupants. The driver of the vehicle had a criminal record for drug trafficking. The male passenger who was on parole had conditions not to be in the company of anyone involved in criminal activity or the drug trade. The male’s parole was subsequently collapsed and the male was arrested and remanded into custody. Police dealt with three separate mental health occurrences. In one of the incidents the person was transported to the Centennial Centre in Ponoka on a mental health warrant. February 6, 2018 Police are investigating the theft of two propane tanks stolen off of a holiday trailer parked at a residence on 65 street in the 4400 block. Police received a 911 call from On-Star advising of a collision at the intersection of 39 street and 48 avenue. Police attended and the collision between a vehicle and a garbage truck was determined to be caused by the driver of the smaller vehicle failing to stop at the red light. The driver sustained a minor injury and the applicable violation ticket was issued. A second significant collision occurred at the intersection of 49 avenue and 48 street. An eastbound vehicle failed to stop at the controlled intersection and struck a southbound vehicle. Both vehicles spun 180 degrees and extensive damage was caused to both vehicles. Both drivers were fortunate to have not been injured. The 71 year old female driver was issued a violation ticket for failing to obey a stop sign. A female contacted Police to report that her apartment suite had been broken into and $50 was missing. Police are investigating. February 5, 2018 Police observed a vehicle traveling at 84 km/hr on 50 street and then was unable to make the corner into Creekview subdivision driving into the snowbank. The 34 year old male driver showed signs of alcohol consumption and provided two samples of his breath that were just under the legal limit. The male was charged with speeding, careless driving and illegal conveyance of liquor. The male received a 3 day driver’s license suspension and his vehicle was also seized for 3 days. Police responded to several collisions throughout the day due to the recent snowfall and icy conditions. The most notable collision occurred at 73 street and 48 avenue when an eastbound car attempting to conduct a left hand turn at the intersection was struck by a westbound pickup truck. The male driver of the car was transported to St. Mary’s hospital and is facing charges of failing to conduct a left turn in safety. February 4, 2018 A home owner on 53 avenue in the 5200 block contacted Police to advise that someone had entered and rummaged through his garage and his vehicle. The owner at the time was unsure if anything had been stolen. Police followed footprints in the snow to several other garages down the alley. None of the locked garages approached by the suspect were entered. A 59 year old woman was caught shoplifting at a west end business when she was observed stealing $45 worth of groceries. The woman was served with a trespass notice prohibiting her from re-attending the business. February 3, 2018 Police attended to a collision at 65 street and 43 avenue involving a school bus and another vehicle. The collision was minor in nature and none of the children on the bus were injured. It was determined that the male driver of the vehicle conducted an unsafe left turn in front of the bus causing the collision and he was charged accordingly. A male known to Police was observed exiting a local bar and getting into a vehicle. Police were aware that the male was on conditions not to be inside a licensed premise or to be inside a vehicle without permission from the registered owner. A traffic stop of the vehicle was conducted and the male produced a letter from the owner of the vehicle but when the owner was contacted she advised that she never gave the male permission or issued him a letter. The 32 year old was arrested and charged with three counts of breaching conditions of his probation and for uttering a forged document. A bail hearing was conducted and the male was remanded into custody. Police received a report of a female causing a disturbance at an apartment building on Mt. Pleasant Drive. The female left prior to Police arrival. Prior to her leaving she had broken a number of items that were valuable to the resident. The female had also been previously served a trespass notice banning her from attending the address. The female will be charged with Mischief and Trespassing. February 2, 2018 A vehicle owner reported a hit & run to Police after she returned to her vehicle and observed fresh damage. A witness who had observed the collision stayed on scene and provided a vehicle description and license plate to the vehicle owner. Police are in the process of contacting the offender and the applicable charges will be laid. A west end business contacted Police after a female attempted to return items that she had just removed from the shelf. The staff advised that the same female had committed the same fraud previously by returning product that she hadn’t purchased. The 38 year old was arrested and charged with fraud. Police responded to a report of yelling and screaming coming from a residence on Mt. Pleasant Drive. Police located a grossly intoxicated female at the residence who had fallen up the stairs resulting in the screaming. The female was left in the care of a friend. February 1, 2018 A 911 phone call was received when a witness observed a female who was screaming and being forced into a vehicle by two males. Police located the vehicle and determined that the 20 year old female was not being abducted but was screaming because she was extremely upset. Police checks on the three individuals indicated that they all had outstanding warrants. All three were arrested and during the search a small quantity of methamphetamine was located on one of the males resulting in him being charged with possession of a controlled substance. All were released later with dates to appear in court. On November 8, 2017 Police executed a search warrant at a problematic residence on Mt. Pleasant Drive. During the search Police located numerous weapons and firearms one of which was confirmed to be stolen from a residence in Leduc. A quantity of cocaine and codeine were also located during the search. Four individuals were arrested and charged with Possession of stolen property, possession of unauthorized firearms and possession of controlled substances. On January 24, 2018 Michael Joseph KLEMM (31) and Nicholas William BAKER (29) were both found guilty of the charges and received a six month jail sentence. The two other individuals charged in the investigation are waiting their trial date which is scheduled for March 29, 2018. January 31, 2018 A male and female contacted Police advising that someone had broken into their residence. The couple stated that their room was trashed and their rent money was missing. Police are investigating the break & enter. A traffic stop was conducted when Police observed the driver not wearing his seatbelt. Police checks on the male determined that he had an outstanding warrant. The male was arrested and was released from custody after paying his outstanding fine. January 30, 2018 A 63 year old male received a phone call from someone stating that he owed money to the Canada Revenue Agency and that there would be a warrant issued for his arrest if he did not make payment with $900 worth of Steam gift cards. The male purchased the cards and provided the scammer with the numbers. Steam is an online gaming site and their gift cards can be used to purchase anything on their on-line store. If you receive a phone call or email from anyone stating that they are from the Canada Revenue Agency and that you owe money it is a scam! Several individuals in our community have received these fraudulent phone calls. A liquor store reported to Police that a male stole a bottle of vodka and left in an unknown make of vehicle. Police are reviewing video surveillance to attempt to identify the male. January 29, 2018 Nothing to report January 28, 2018 A resident called Police to report that a male was swinging from her screen door. Police attended to the residence and arrested the male who was high on illicit drugs. The male who was known to Police was searched resulting in them locating a small quantity of cocaine. The 31 year old was charged with four counts of breaching his conditions and one count of possession of a controlled substance. January 26, 2018 A bank contacted Police regarding a male who was causing issues with staff after he was unable to produce photo identification. The male who was well known by Police was spoken to about his behavior and the situation was mediated. A vehicle owner contacted Police when he noticed that his car had been stolen from in front of his residence at 46 street in the 4800 block. Police are looking for a blue 2004 Volkswagon Jetta. A fast food restaurant reported a theft of money that had occurred on January 12th . An employee at the restaurant is believed to be responsible and Police are investigating. A local business reported that the locks to their storage shed had been cut. Police are waiting on video surveillance and on inventory checks to determine what property was stolen. January 25, 2018 A local gas station reported a theft of fuel which had occurred approximately three hours earlier that morning. A licence plate provided by staff was determined to be stolen out of Saskatoon. The vehicle was a black Ford Escape and there were two occupants in the vehicle. Police are investigating. At 3:20 PM on January 24th a ten year old student walking home from school stopped at a residence crying. The student advised the homeowner that she had seen a lady walk past her carrying a small knife. The lady, who made no threats toward the child, was described as being in her 40’s, short hair, black jacket and pink mittens. Police members flooded the area looking for the described female while the exterior doors of the school were locked as a precaution for the children remaining inside. The female was not located. If anyone has any information regarding a female matching that description please contact Police. A customer at a restaurant located near the Police service refused to pay his bill and advised staff that he had a warrant for his arrest. Staff suggested to the customer that he should turn himself into Police. The 26 year old from Stettler left and moments later was at the Police service where he was arrested on his warrants. A parent attended the restaurant where payment was accepted. An employee at a liquor store contacted Police to report two suspicious males who were trying to lure her away from the cash register by asking where certain products were. The employee remained at her till until the men left the store. At about 3:45 AM Police conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle matching the description provided by the employee. The three male occupants who all had a history of property crime were driving around in the east end of Camrose without a valid reason. After the traffic stop Police ensured that the vehicle exited the city. January 24, 2018 A local gas station reported a theft of fuel which occurred earlier in the day. Staff provided a licence plate to Police which was determined to be stolen out of Wainwright. The vehicle was later located by Stony Plain RCMP and had been deliberately set on fire. Police in all involved jurisdictions are attempting to identify the suspect. A 911 call was made after a vehicle lost control on a curve near 47 avenue and Mount Pleasant Drive. The vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a tree and then a fence. The male passenger in the vehicle sustained a head injury and was trapped inside the vehicle. The Fire Department attended and was able to extract the individual from the vehicle. The 25 year old was then transported to St. Mary’s hospital. Police are investigating the collision. Police received an open 911 call and could hear an argument in the background. Police attended a residence on 51 avenue in the 5300 block occupied by a 22 year old female and a 21 year old male who were involved in the argument. The intoxicated female had outstanding warrants out of Camrose and Edmonton and was on conditions not to have contact with the male or to consume or possess alcohol or drugs. During the arrest Police also located a quantity of cannabis marijuana. The female was charged with six counts of breaching her conditions as well as possession of a controlled substance. The female is waiting on a bail hearing. January 23 , 2018 Police received a 911 call from a male requesting EMS but then hung-up the phone. Police were able to determine where the call originated and attended to the residence. The 35 year old had no legitimate reason for calling 911 and was given a warning by Police. Police mediated a property dispute which escalated to the father attending his daughter’s place of employment and causing a scene. The property was later returned and the two were advised to stop communicating with each other. Police entered into an investigation after an Edmonton woman reported that her sister had been falsely using her identification. The female attended the courthouse to pay for her own speeding ticket and was shocked when she was made aware of thousands of dollars in outstanding fines. Police have confirmed that the sister is responsible and charges are pending. January 22 , 2018 Nothing to report January 21st , 2018 Police conducted a vehicle stop after noting it was excessively exceeding the speed limit. The driver was noted to be under the influence of alcohol and was issued a 3 day IRS suspension and the vehicle was seized. The driver was also charged with careless driving. A vehicle stop was conducted and Police noted the driver to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver was issued a 3 day IRS suspension and his vehicle was also seized for 3 days. January 20th , 2018 Police received a complaint from the manager of an apartment complex that a man was breaking into the coin box in the laundry room. Police located and arrested the man leaving a nearby business where he had purchased merchandise using a large quantity of coins that he had on just stolen. He was also in possession of several break in tools and determined to have a suspended driver’s license. The investigation determined that the Fort Saskatchewan man has been responsible for numerous ongoing investigations of a similar nature throughout Camrose. He was charged accordingly and will be brought before a Justice of the Peace to determine his release from custody. While on patrol, Police noted a vehicle driving carelessly in a parking lot and a vehicle stop was conducted. The 25 year old male driver of the vehicle was arrested for impaired driving and provided two breath samples of 100 mg%. The man was also found to be in possession of cocaine and charged with impaired driving, driving over .08, careless driving, and possession of a controlled substance. He was released on a promise to appear. Police were called to a disturbance inside of a residence where a man and a woman were arguing. The man was intoxicated and arrested to prevent further breach of peace then released without charges. While conducting a checkstop, Police identified a passenger in a vehicle to have 6 outstanding warrants. The man was arrested and will appear before a Justice of the Peace. Police received a complaint from a licensed premise that a patron had been punched and suffered a large cut to their head. The victim was treated by EMS and the matter is being investigated. January 19, 2018 On November 14, 2017 Police received a 911 call regarding an unresponsive male at local hotel. Police and EMS attended where the male was pronounced dead at the scene. The 25 year old from Edmonton had a history with illicit drugs and his hotel room presented with clear indicators of drug use. Results now received from the medical examiner’s office confirmed the immediate cause of death was fentanyl toxicity. A traffic stop was conducted in front of a residence and while Police were dealing with the driver a male exited the home to see what was going on. The male who was well known to Police had an outstanding warrant for break and enter. The 37 year old was arrested and during a search Police located rifle ammunition in his pocket contrary to his weapons prohibition. The male is in custody waiting on a bail hearing. A male advised Police that he lost his credit card and while cancelling his card he was advised that it had been used several times totaling just over $500. Police reviewed video surveillance at a business where the card had been used and a female suspect was observed using the card. Police are investigating. January 18, 2018 Police received a complaint of a hit & run and a witness was able to provide a license plate for the offending vehicle. Police are following up with the registered owner. A vehicle stop was conducted and Police immediately observed an odor of cannabis marijuana. The vehicle was searched and a small quantity of cannabis was located of which the female driver claimed ownership. The female was charged with possession of a controlled substance. January 17, 2018 An investigation into the theft of flooring from an apartment building on Mt. Pleasant Drive resulted in Police charging a 57 year old male with theft and breaching his conditions. A Ford Freestar which had been stolen from the Cornerstone shopping district was recovered in Red Deer. A female reported that she was sexually assaulted by a male whom she had contact with through a mobile app. They agreed to meet and she provided him with her address. The male who misrepresented himself on the app entered her residence where the assault occurred. Police have a description of the male and are attempting to identify him. January 16, 2018 The Loss Prevention Officer at a west end business contacted Police when he observed a male who was on conditions not to be in the store. Police attended and the male was arrested and charged with failing to comply with his Recognizance. January 15, 2018 Police received a complaint of someone attempting to steal fuel from a vehicle in the Casino parking lot. The suspects were driving an older Ford F350 pulling a flat deck trailer. Police were unable to locate the vehicle. A vehicle was stolen from the parking lot of the Cornerstone Shoppers Drug Mart. The owner had left his 2003 Ford Freestar running with the keys in the ignition while he went into the store. Staff at the store advised Police that a male had just stolen cosmetic items. Police have identified the male and charges will be laid. Police conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle with tinted windows. Checks on the driver determined that he had an outstanding warrant for operating a vehicle without insurance. The 25 year old was arrested and later released from custody when a family member attended to pay his outstanding fine. January 14, 2018 Police received a complaint of two suspicious males operating a white sedan in the 5100 block of 53 street. One of the males was on private property looking at an old vehicle that was parked in the yard. When the owner confronted the male he claimed they were looking for their cat and then quickly got back into their vehicle and drove away. At 7:00 PM Police received a report of a collision on Marler Drive in the 6700 block. A pick-up truck had backed into a car and the male driver was standing beside his vehicle. Police attended and observed signs that the male was under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested for impaired driving. The 47 year old provided two samples of his breath that exceeded the legal limit and he was subsequently charged with impaired driving, backing unsafely and unlawful conveyance as he had open liquor in his vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle and it was clear that the male driver had recently consumed cannabis marijuana. The 20 year old was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Edmonton and was issued a 24 hour driving suspension. January 13, 2018 Police received two separate complaints of holes being drilled in vehicle gas tanks in the residential area by the bowling alley. The mischief and theft of fuel was captured on video surveillance and Police are attempting to identify the male suspect. Police responded to a domestic situation at a residence on Grand Drive. The involved 33 year old male and a 48 year old female were both arrested. The female was arrested on an outstanding warrant and charged with breaching her conditions as she was not allowed to have contact with the male. Police were able to determine that the male had struck the female not only that evening but also in the prior couple days and had also smashed her cell phone. As a result the male was charged with two counts of assault and one count of mischief. January 12, 2018 The owner of a Chevrolet Avalanche advised Police that someone had punched out the lock on his vehicle while parked at the rear of 47A Avenue in the 5700 block. Police entered into an investigation regarding the unauthorized use of a credit card. The credit card which had been stolen from a residence in the county was used 11 times at four locations within Camrose. A female suspect has been identified and Police have issued a warrant for her arrest. January 11, 2018 An investigation resulted in Police locating a stolen enclosed cargo trailer which contained stolen property out of Edmonton. The trailer was located at a storage facility where the suspect also rented a storage unit. Police obtained and executed a search warrant on the rental unit and seized several additional items that were determined to be stolen. The suspect was later located, arrested and charged with two counts of possession of stolen property over $5000, two counts of possession of stolen property under $5000, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and two counts of breaching his conditions. The 38 year old male is in custody waiting on a bail hearing. The manager of an apartment building on Mount Pleasant Drive advised that 12 bundles of flooring were missing. Police identified the suspect and he will be charged with theft and possession of stolen property. January 10, 2018 A traffic stop was conducted and a 24 year old male driver was arrested on an outstanding warrant for operating a vehicle without insurance. Further checks on the vehicle that he was operating at the time of the traffic stop confirmed it also did not have insurance. A family member paid his fine on the warrant and he was released from custody with another charge of operating an uninsured motor vehicle. A complaint was received from a local business of a male who was passed out in their washroom. The male was intoxicated by GHB and was also found to have a quantity of the drug on his person. The male was also in possession of stolen property from a nearby business. The male was arrested and charged with theft and possession of stolen property and four counts of breaching his conditions. Charges on possession of a controlled substance are pending. Police were contacted when a male left a bank after attempting to cash a $2600 cheque which they believed to be fraudulent. Police have identified the male and are investigating the occurrence. January 9, 2018 Police were notified by the Loss Prevention Officer at a west end business that two females had just left the store with stolen merchandise. Police attended and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle that they were operating. A male and two females from Maskwacis were arrested for theft. A search of their vehicle was conducted and Police located stolen property from two different west end businesses. A search of one of the females resulted in Police locating a small quantity of crack cocaine and methamphetamine. Police checks indicated that one of the women had warrants out of Wetaskiwin and the other was on probation. The two women were charged accordingly and released on a promise to appear. A complaint was received of a male who was leaving threatening messages on another person’s phone. Police were able to identify the offender and attended his residence and found him to be in the company of a female with whom he had conditions not to be in contact with. The 37 year old who was under the influence of drugs was arrested a charged with two counts of breaching his probation. January 8, 2018 In the early morning hours Police observed a suspicious vehicle in the industrial area. A traffic stop was conducted and it was determined that the male driver was on probation with a 24 hour curfew. It was also determined that the male did not have a valid driver’s license and the vehicle he was operating was not insured or registered. The 22 year old was arrested and charged with two counts of breaching his probation, operating a vehicle without a license, misuse of a license plate, no insurance and no registration. The male is in custody waiting on a bail hearing. January 7, 2018 A female reported that while they were staying at a local hotel a quantity of money was stolen out of her husband’s wallet. Police received a call from a resident on Mt. Pleasant Drive who reported that a male had gone into his residence without permission and used his cellphone. The situation was mediated as there were no grounds for a charge. January 6, 2018 Police conducted a traffic stop on a truck that had a burnt out headlight. The driver of the vehicle showed signs of alcohol consumption and a road side sobriety test was conducted. The driver blew a warning on the instrument and he was issued a 3 day license suspension and his vehicle was seized. While patrolling a vehicle was located on 48 Avenue which was travelling at 99kmh. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver of the van was arrested for impaired driving. He provided breath samples of 140 and 130mg%. He was charged with impaired driving, driving over 80mg%, dangerous driving, driving while suspended and speeding. Checks of his license revealed that he was suspended driver from a previous impaired driving conviction. His vehicle was subsequently seized for 30 days. A female called Police to request assistance in removing an intoxicated male from her residence. When Police arrived the drunk male was belligerent and uncooperative. He was arrested and lodged to prevent any further breach of the peace. Police received another call of a male who causing problems at a downtown residence. When Police arrived he was located outside the residence near the alley. He was intoxicated and was and arrested and lodged until sober. Security staff at a downtown licensed premise called Police to report a male was causing a disturbance inside the bar. When Police arrived the male was found on the steps of the premises and it was confirmed he was causing problems. He was advised to leave the premises, as well, he received a trespass notice from the premise. January 5, 2018 A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle which was observed traveling left of center on 47 avenue. While at the vehicle Police observed a taped up can of bear mace in plain view that the female driver claimed she needed for protection. The female was arrested and her vehicle was searched resulting in Police also locating a small baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire as well as small quantities of cocaine and methamphetamine. The female was charged with two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of breaching her conditions. A female reported to Police that her wallet had been stolen from her purse while she was at Mirror Lake Park. The stolen black Michael Kors wallet contained cash and her Alberta driver’s license. January 4, 2018 Police are investigating a theft and fraud complaint after a female reported that her ex-boyfriend stole her bank card and withdrew funds. Police are confirming the allegations and charges are pending. A local business reported an attempted fraud. The business had been emailed from a person claiming to be from Quebec wishing to make a large purchase with a credit card. The business did not complete the transaction. A 41 year old man was arrested and charged with impaired driving. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle he was operating at which time Police observed obvious signs of impairment. He was transported to Police headquarters where he provided samples of his breath that were twice the legal limit. January 3, 2018 Over the Christmas holidays a Centra Cam truck was broken into while parked at the recycling depot. Several Dewalt tools were stolen from inside the vehicle. Police are investigating the theft. Sometime after December 29 a business on 46 street was broken into and a substantial amount of cash was stolen from their safe. Police are following up on leads to identify the suspect. A traffic stop was conducted and the female driver displayed signs of intoxication. The female was arrested and transported to Police headquarters where she provided two samples of her breath that were both over the legal limit. The 53 year old was charged with impaired driving. January 2, 2018 Police responded to three separate residences throughout the day and dealt with domestic situations. All three situations were determined to be non-criminal in and were mediated. EMS requested Police assist them at a residence on Mount Pleasant Drive with a patient that was being uncooperative. It was determined that the patient was under the influence of drugs and was taken to St. Mary’s hospital for treatment. January 1, 2018 Police received a 911 call from a downtown business of a fight inside of the liquor establishment. Members located two people involved in the altercation. Members were advised a consensual fight occurred and the other group left prior to Police arrival. The couple was escorted out of the business and given a warning. A 27 year old woman called Police advising her ex-common law attended her residence and assaulted her inside of the home. The 32 year old man fled prior to Police attending. A warrant will be sought against the male for charges of assault and breaching his contact conditions.
