This week we worked on short letter Uu. We honored Dr. Seuss by readi ng and writing about our favorite Dr. Seuss books. Writ ing our opinion is a kindergarten standard that we have been working on. We continued to observe our plants grow. The key vocabu lary word is: observe, which means to watch or look at something closely. We are recording our observations in our plant journal. When students bring home their plants please replant them. We ar e hoping t hat students will have the opportunity to "observe" the bean plants flower and grow vegetables in the ~mmu.
In math, we continued our work on subtraction. The key vocabulary words for this week are: take away, are left and decompose. This is typically a more difficult topic in math. Please spend a few additional minutes with subtraction practice if your child needs it. Also, students will be expected to add and subtract fluently within 5. We now have supervision on the playground before school. If you would like to encourage independence in your child, please feel f r ee to say good-bye at the gate and leave. If not, you are more than welcome to wait. Reminders: • March 12th_14th: Conference Days: Minimum days for students.
