Memorial Park North Recreation Center 340 N. Orange Place (Ages 11-14) Monday-Friday 3:00-6:00 p.m. Teen Post Highlights: The City of Azusa Recreation and Family Services Department encourages a fun and safe environment for local teens. The Teen Post is located in the North Recreation Center (NRC). The Teen Post consists of a game room with two pool tables, foosball table, and a flat screen TV. The North Recreation Center includes an open gym, dance room, computer lab, kitchen and more. The Teen Post is open Monday-Friday 2:30 p.m.-6:00 p.m. We welcome all 6th, 7th and 8th grade students.

Registration for youth sports available online at www.ci.azusa.ca.us WINTER PONY BASEBALL Registration taken through September 14, 2017 Open to all boys ages 12-14, $45 (second child, same immediate family $40*). Registration is currently being taken at Memorial Park Recreation Center, Monday-Thursday, 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. To register, each youth must present entire registration fee, proof of age (birth certificate, baptismal, etc.) and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Fee includes minor league replica uniform jersey and cap. All games played at The Field of Dreams at Gladstone Park. For more information call 812-5201.

AYP is a volunteer group of interested individuals whose goal is to assist the Azusa Recreation and Family Services Department in providing quality activities and events to benefit the youth of Azusa. AYP is the sole sponsor of the Azusa Pony Baseball Program, as well as many other city-administered events. AYP is actively seeking members to help on the board and general membership levels. AYP’s general membership meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the Memorial Park Recreation Center. Call now for more information, 812-5201.

The City of Azusa’s Recreation and Family Services Department is once again excited to offer the Annual Trunk or Treat Program this Halloween season. This year’s event will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2017, from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. at City Hall, 213 E. PARK DIVISION 320 N. ORANGE PLACE Green City parks with theme style and brightly colored playground equipment, clean public restrooms available for use during your family picnic at our city parks, tree trimmers working to maintain the city’s urban forest, new picnic tables with safe vandal-proof concrete cast tables, these are only some of the facilities and tasks that your Park Division maintains and improves as part of their contribution to a healthy community. Azusa Park Division’s contribution of well cared for park space is a vital part of the Azusa history and tradition. Maintaining that tradition for our children and families is the day in and day out mission behind the City of Azusa’s Park Division operation. The City of Azusa Park Division is responsible for the overall maintenance of 87.37 acres of park land which includes 43.44 acres of turf area, the supervision of 5.5 miles of center medians on landscape maintenance contract, and approximately 3.5 acres of miscellaneous landscape areas. The Park Division operation is a 20-man, 7-day a week operation.

The park division has started a new Park Ambassador Program. The program will consist of six ambassadors that will assist the weekend staff, tour and lock restrooms at night.

The City of Azusa’s Urban Forestry Management plan includes tree trimming on a 4-year grid trim cycle method. The goal is to have every public tree trimmed at least once every four years. Should a public tree(s) need attention sooner for safety reasons (such as vehicle, pedestrian, traffic signal and or traffic sign obstructions or for any other safety reasons identified by the City’s Park Supervisor) the tree will be addressed by the City. The City also offers a tree planting program. If your business or residence has a vacant site, per our computerized tree inventory, and you request a tree(s), it will be planted at the City’s expense. We only ask that you agree to water the tree(s). THE AZUSA WOMAN’S CLUB The newly restored Woman’s Club is an elegant setting for wedding receptions and special occasions. The Spanish style building has a beautiful patio and will accommodate (250) guests. An in house caterer provides delicious meals and appetizers for your gathering.

THE AZUSA SENIOR CENTER The Senior Center is the perfect location family reunions, adult birthday parties and community gatherings. The dining room accommodates (200) guests and small classrooms are also available.

MEMORIAL PARK NORTH RECREATION CENTER (NRC) The newly restored National Guard Armory offers meeting rooms, an indoor gymnasium and mirrored classrooms. This setting is the perfect location for family reunions, adult birthday parties, quinceañeras and community gatherings, accommodating (250) guests for dining in a comfortable climate controlled setting.

THE GAZEBO The Gazebo is available for outdoor ceremonies. The Gazebo will seat (150) guests and the adjacent park and gardens will make the event unforgettable. The Azusa Senior Center and Woman’s Club are nearby to host a complimentary reception as well.

MEMORIAL PARK RECREATION CENTER The Recreation Center offers an indoor gymnasium, mirrored classrooms and meeting rooms. This setting would be wonderful for children’s birthday parties, baby showers, family parties and business meetings, seating up to (150) guests.

DEPORTES Juveniles BEISBOL PONY - DE INVIERNO Se tomara registración hasta el 14 de septiembre 2017. Abierto a todos los niños de 12 a 14 años. Costo $45.00. (2do niño de la misma familia $40*) Las inscripciones se están realizando en el Centro de Recreación del Parque Memorial, de lunes a jueves, de 7:00 a.m. a 5:30 p.m. Para registrarse, cada joven debe comprobar su edad por medio de (un acta de nacimiento, certificado de bautizo o con una carta de la escuela) y debe estar acompañado con su padre o tutor. Parques Verdes con áreas de juegos con colores mas brillantes, baños públicos limpios para su uso cuando vaya de picnic con su familia, trabajadores apodan los árboles para mantener los bosques urbanos de la ciudad, y nuevas mesas para su picnic protegidas por un molde de concreto ante-vandalismo, estas son algunas mejorías que hacen en los parques y ofreciendo lo siguiente, como parte de su contribución para el bienestar de la comunidad. La Oficina de Parques de Azusa provee mantenimiento a los parques conservándolos bien cuidados, de esta manera se contribuye a la preservación de la parte vital de la historia y tradición de Azusa. El seguir con esta tradición para nuestros niños y familias es el lema diario tras la Administración de la Oficina de Parques de la Ciudad de Azusa. Las horas hábiles son de lunes a jueves, 6:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., la oficina esta cerrada de viernes a domingo, teléfono (626) 812-5259. La Oficina de Parques de la Ciudad de Azusa es responsable por el mantenimiento total de 87.37 acres de zona de parques incluyendo 43.44 de césped. La Oficina también es responsable de supervisar 5.5 millas del contrato de mantenimiento de la zona verde en los divisores centrales de las vías y de aproximadamente 3.5 acres de áreas verdes. La Oficina de Parques opera con 20 empleados, los siete días a la semana.

El edificio estilo Español tiene un hermoso patio donde se pueden reunir hasta (250) invitados. Proveemos servicio de banquetes con deliciosas comidas, aperitivos y servicio de bar para su reunión.

Centro Acuático de Azusa (verano solamente)

El Centro para Personas de la Tercera Edad de Azusa El Centro para Personas de la Tercera Edad es un lugar perfecto para reuniones familiares, fiestas de cumpleaños para personas adultas y reuniones comunitarias. Hasta (200) invitados se pueden reunir en el comedor y también se cuenta con pequeños salones de clases para reuniones.

Centro de Recreación del Parque Memorial El Centro de Recreación ofrece salones de reunión, un gimnasio cubierto y salones con espejos. Esta alternativa puede ser maravillosa para la celebración de cumpleaños de los niños, reuniones de negocios, fiestas de ‘baby shower’ y familiares.

Centro de Recreación Norte del Parque Memorial (NRC) El nuevo Centro de Recreación Norte ofrece salones de reunión, un gimnasio cubierto y salones con espejos. Esta alternativa puede ser maravillosa para la celebración de cumpleaños, reuniones de negocios y fiestas familiares. Espacio para (250) invitados.

Áreas de Picnic en los Parques Memorial, Northside, Gladstone, Slauson, Alisal, Veteran’s Freedom, Rancho, Zacatecas y Pioneer Se rentan áreas de picnic para celebrar sus fiestas al aire libre. Usted no tiene que madrugar para conseguir una mesa en los parques, porque ahora con el pago de una pequeña tarifa, usted puede reservar su área de picnic. No se provee electricida.

El Kiosko en City Hall (Ayuntamiento) El kiosko esta disponible para ceremonias y celebraciones al aire libre. El Gazebo tiene capacidad para (150) invitados, con su parque y jardines adjuntos puede hacer de su evento algo inolvidable. El Centro para Personas de la Tercera Edad de Azusa y el Club de Mujeres se encuentran cerca para tender su recepción.

Costo de la Solicitud para un Castillo Para Brincar Se debe adquirir un permiso para tener un brinca-brinca en cualquier parque de Azusa. Es necesario pagar una pequeña tarifa y presentar el comprobante de seguro del operador del brinca-brinca. Se requiere un generador, la ciudad no provee la electricidad.

EL CENTRO DE LA TERCERA EDAD DE AZUSA Celebrando 30 A os!! 740 N. Dalton Avenue • (626) 812-5204 Horario de oficina: lunes-jueves 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m., viernes 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Accesible para personas con capacidades especiales. Los adultos de 50 años y mayores son bienvenidos. El transporte al Centro de Adultos está disponible para los residentes de Azusa de 60 años de edad o mayores. Favor de llamar al servicio “Dial-ARide” de Azusa al (626) 812-5206. El antiguo centro publica las “Memorias de antaño”, un folleto mensual de clases, actividades permanentes y especiales, menú del mes, viajes, etc. Tiene un costo de $5.00 por año para recibir este folleto por correo en su casa. COMIDAS CALIENTES NUTRITIVAS se sirven diariamente lunes-viernes, el lunes a las 11:30 a.m. y martes a jueves a las 12:00 p.m. (medio día). Se requiere hacer una reservación 48-horas antes. La donación sugerida para los participantes elegibles de la edad de 60 años y más es de $2.00 por comida, por persona. COMIDAS ENTREGADAS A DOMICILIO es un servicio disponible para personas confinados en casa de 60 años y más. Estas comidas son entregadas a domicilio al medio-día por una donación sugerida de $2.10 y son patrocinadas en parte por la ley Titulo III del Older American Act.

SERVICIOS DE GERENCIA provee la asistencia individual necesaria para ayudar a las personas de la tercera edad con el objetivo de que mantengan su independencia en la comunidad. Las familias pueden registrar a un ser querido que padezca de demencia en el Programa del Regreso Seguro de la Asociación Nacional Alzheimer.

por el personal del centro. Aproximadamente dos días de viaje por mes son calendarizados y anunciados en el boletín mensual de noticias del centro. Inscríbase a nuevos viajes, que se anuncian el primer dia de negocio de cada mes (aproximadamente con 2 y medio o 3 meses de anticipación). Las reservaciones se aceptan en el momento del pago, por medio de un cheque o la cantidad exacta en efectivo. Los cheques se aceptan por correo si al momento al recibirlo hay disponabilidad.
