OUR MINI RANGERS ACTIVITIES ARE SUITED TO OUR YOUNGEST GUESTS BETWEEN 0-3 YEARS OLD. WITH THESE, WE AIM TO ENCOURAGE LEARNING THROUGH PLAY BY SENSORY STIMULATION.
We’re going on a Bug Hunt! Join the Bluestone Rangers and become a real Nature Detective! Equipped with your very own ranger utility belt, explore the special areas surrounding our woodland den. Led by our knowledgeable Ranger you will track down creatures of all types great and small, bringing them back to the den to observe and discuss. What will you discover? For previous guests, this is a new and improved version of our Beast Hunt!
BEAST HUNT - SECRET VILLAGE 1 hour - Guardian Required
With our Mini Rangers activities we have thought very hard about how to entertain babies and toddlers. The basis of each activity aimed towards this age group is everything magic. The magic of the imagination and the fun conjured up from great creativity, the very things that create wonder which most of us grown ups envy. From fairies, to pirates, monkeys and spacemen, Mini Rangers offers stimulation for our youngest guests through interactive fun.
A session of pure wonder, voyage to the realm of the Hobbit & Fairy and see their Secret Village. In this mysterious adventure learn about these rare beings and then collect different magical dust to take away and grow your very own Fairy or Hobbit Village. An incredible session keeping the excitable imagination and magic alive.

Designed for children between the ages of 4-7. These activities provide free range fun for curious minds and are firmly based within the natural world that we are lucky to be surrounded by here at Bluestone. Children are encouraged to call on the imaginative processes needed when creating new worlds of fun, particularly with activities like Bluestone Buccaneers where kids are taken on pirate adventures within mythical lands beyond reality.
With 8-12 year olds it can sometimes be tough to coax them away from the computer or the TV screens in today’s vast maze of technology and gaming, but worry not – we’ll have them running, jumping and playing in no time. Imaginations will run wild as they become woodland survivors down at the Steep Ravine as they swing through trees and build their very own dens or camp fires. Or take them back in time as they become a medieval knight on the tournament field and perhaps finish up with the mental challenge of our 4x4 safari where they’ll navigate narrow roads and fallen trees through their very own safari drive.

MUD MYSTERY* 2 hours - Unaccompanied Calling all nature detectives! Can you help us on this two hour adventure session where the last remaining Welsh Dragon Egg has gone missing from the nest? The Free Ranger Team needs YOU! Get suited-up in your detective gear and head into the forest where you need to solve the clues and unravel the latest mud mystery.

3 hours - Unaccompanied - Food Included Join our Scallywags of the lake as they take you on a pirate adventure that’s not to be missed. The thieves of the woods have stolen the Scallywags treasure and have hidden the missing pieces of the map. Help find the map pieces and solve all the puzzle clues that may lead you to the Scallywags stolen treasure. A 3 hour adventure full of pirate shanties, puzzles and fun!

45 mins - Guardian Required (Seasonal) Little tykes become gold hunters as they search the area surrounding Camp Smokey for their very own golden nugget. They’ll receive help from some of our favourite hunters including Smokey Joe, so they will be in good hands. After sieving through lots of rough we promise we won’t let them leave without a prize of their own.
INTO THE WILD (Seasonal) (Age 5+) 90 mins - Guardian Required
Do you have what it takes to win at your team celtic challenge? Aimed at 8-12 year olds with a lot of energy, challenge the other team to activities that may include archery, crossbow, laserclay, welly wanging, assault course, wise logs and other team challenge games.
WOODLAND SURVIVOR* 3 hours - Food Included - Unaccompanied Players are whisked off to the wilderness of the Steep Ravine forest and split into teams, the challenge then is to survive the elements of forest. Teams must build shelters from natural resources and overcome the obstacles that face them in the forest whilst trying to be the first team to successfully complete the challenges. *Please Note: Parents/guardians must supply their children with a bottle of water, suitable footwear (no sandals or flip flops) and clothing for the activity and weather conditions.
4X4 SAFARI DRIVER (6-11 years) 45 mins - Guardian Required There are two fantastic new courses which challenge, excite and prepare the young ones for the future ahead. However, it is not your average run of the mill track. Amazing new features include narrow roads fenced in with fallen logs, hills, different levels, reversing bays, rickety bridges, willow tunnels and even a seesaw to drive over.

An afternoon you simply cannot miss set in the heart of the Steep Ravine. Join Smokey Joe on his quirky adventures in his wilderness playground playing woodland games, solving puzzles and learning wacky survival tips! Along the way you can meet Plop the owl, Smokey Joe’s little woodland accomplice and create your very own adventures in this action packed afternoon finished off with some marshmallows around the Camp Smokey fire.

HIGH ROPES (10 years +) 2 hours - Minimum height 1.4m, restrictions apply - Participating guardian required Max weight 18.9 stone Our High Ropes course will ease you into the heights of the towering pines that make up the Steep Ravine forest. You’ll negotiate your way across the sky high assault courses at heights of 40ft and experienced instructors will guide you through the journey. You will zip wire your way from one obstacle course to another as the challenges get tougher and tougher.

SKY WIRES (8 years +) 2 hours - Minimum height 1.2m, Max weight 18.9 stone The Sky Wire course notches up the adrenaline as gravity whizzes you through the tree tops like a bird of prey. You’ll reach heights of 60ft and experience all the exhilaration of flying from the safety of your harness! This one’s not to be missed, with a total of 4 wires to zip down it’s your time to fly!

Perhaps you’re a regular thrill seeker, or maybe you’re new to leaving your comfort zone. Whether you embrace or avoid fear, we promise it’ll be worth facing up to your trepidation when you soar through the skies of our Steep Ravine forest.
TREE CLIMBING (6 years +) 1 hour - Minimum height 1.1m Guardian required to observe Tree Climbing is just another treat that the Steep Ravine has on offer. You’ll use your own stamina to work your way to the top of some of our tallest trees. Pause at the top and you’ll have stunning views of the entire National Park land.
If the weather isn’t quite playing ball then you can still enjoy some pulse racing fun undercover at the Adventure Centre, dubbed the indoor playground for its array of activities. The climbing wall is a favourite amongst our thrill seekers. With various routes, this one caters for all abilities so it’s perfect for a bit of parent, kid competition or lone rangers alike. Our experienced instructors will talk you through your route and then it’s down to you to work your way to the top!
WOODLAND WARRIOR (8 years +) - 90 minutes Guardian required to sign disclaimer Woodland warrior laser combat is like paint ball, it fires lasers and all hits are recorded. The woodland arena is set at the top of Steep Ravine in a dedicated wooded area where there are hides, ditches, bivouacs and of course, you and your opponent’s camp. Our own instructors will guide you through different games and challenges. Be prepared to get down and dirty with our mud.

Enjoy a gorgeous stroll through our picturesque landscape. We have created a trail that is suitable for all levels of ability whether you’re a marathon runner or afternoon stroller. You can also request a nature trail guide from Booking Office and follow our step by step signs that will guide you through your chosen route.

ACTIVITIES - ON THE LAKE FAMILY RAFT WARS
On the Lake
(8 years +) - 1 hour - Guardian required
This is a great activity to bring out the fun, competitive side of families as you are split into two teams and given an allowance of plastic money. Spend it wisely as you will have to bid on the items that you think will help you to build the winning raft. Once you have built your raft the race is on to get to the other side of the lake. The fun is in the chaos and in the challenge of avoiding sabotage from your opponents.

We are very lucky to have such a fantastic landscape and one of our favourite places is the lake. It’s a beautiful place for a light stroll, or simply to sit and enjoy a little serenity. It’s also a favourite amongst photography lovers. During the summer days the lake is home to a range of activities too.
WELSH CORACLES (10 years +) - 1 hour - Guardian required
Guests will learn to paddle a coracle and negotiate their way across the lake in a swift silent fashion to replicate the movements of Welsh fishermen. The coracles are a small round craft designed to be lightweight so that the fishermen could carry them on their backs whilst making their way through the woods.
KAYAKING (12 years +) - 1 hour - Guardian required
Kayaking is loved by all ages and it’s a perfect way to bring the family together in an activity that everyone can enjoy. This gentle sport is a great way to enjoy the tranquil waters of the lake as a couple or a small group. There’s still a challenge in the balance but nothing too demanding, we promise.

Our guides will help you decide which route will be the best for you to take to the top. Once upon a time knights were invited by kings and nobles to show their skills in tournaments. Here they would fight to the death for riches and land! Now there isn’t that sort of danger on our Tournament Field but things do get fiercely competitive!
Make a Splash
Enjoy tropical temperatures in our huge eco friendly Blue Lagoon Water Park. This bubble of aqua fun boasts slip slides, winding flumes and whipping waves that will take you on a castaway like voyage through the largest water park in West Wales. Roll on down the lazy river at a relaxing snail’s pace. You’ll switch from indoor to out during this leisurely winding journey that passes below the screams of laughter from the flumes above. Take a break mid way through to enjoy our secluded hot tub nestled within a south facing patio, here you can relax
on a sun lounger or take a short walk over the bridge to grab an ice cream from the Fish Shack. Enjoy all the fun of rolling waves in the main pool at intervals throughout your swim; the water jets will roar and the waves will begin whooshing across the water.
We can’t promise you royalty but we can promise you all the fun of middle age tournament, including that competitive edge but without the great losses. Our tournament field brings out your fighting spirit as you perfect your aim in archery and laser clay shooting, or test your mettle with our cross bows.
The air is filled with giggles and laughter as the fun is turned up a notch. Get your dancing flippers on for Wild Water, our Friday night water based disco as we turn up the tempo! The lazy river gets rapid, waves get wild and the music’s turned up as the weekend arrives.

(8 years +) - 45 minutes - Unaccompanied The correct term for a crossbow in the middle ages was an Arbalest – a fantastic example of human engineering of a world long past. Hit the gong or knock the knight down, this fun target practice is a real test of your coordination.
(8 years +) - 45 minutes - Unaccompanied We go a little more modern as we lead you onto the laser clay shoot but this is a real favourite across our rural county. This one may not demand the physical skill of the bow and arrow but the target practice is a great one for speed of mind. Fathers and sons easily find their competitive inner selves coming out with this one. Good luck with the games...
(8 years +) - 45 minutes - Unaccompanied Archers were the most important part of a castle’s defence. A lifetime of practicing this ancient art could be the lead up to one battle or mean survival during journeys through the forests travelled before beaten tracks existed. Can you play Twm Sion, the Welsh Robin Hood for one day?

We have conserved the beauty of the natural surroundings whilst implementing modern facilities that boast 7 unique thermal facilities that soothe, detox and rejuvenate. The Celtic Spa Experience can be booked singly or alongside one of our luxurious treatments created in partnership with leading British spa brand ESPA. No one understands the mind, body and soul synergies better than ESPA.
• Check in for your treatment and you’ll be guided to the consultation lounge where you will complete a simple lifestyle questionnaire. • You’ll be directed to our changing area where you can get into your swimwear and wrapped comfortably into your fluffy robe. You’ll then be escorted to the Celtic Thermal suite. • Make the most of your time in the different rooms, experience complete relaxation and unwind in the different rooms as you please. • After your Thermal Suite experience and any booked treatments it’s time to enter back into the outside world feeling a renewed sense of well being. Our Oak Tree Restaurant is a must during your short break. Situated in the village overlooking the great oak tree from which its name derives, the restaurant brings yet another culinary choice for guests. Here our chefs serve pizza topped with local ingredients straight from the wood fired oven and pasta which is made with care every day. From individual starters to dishes for sharing, there is something for every taste. There are even some very tempting desserts. We also offer a wide range of fine wines, beers and spirits which compliment the menu perfectly. Did you know Takeaway Pizzas are available to enjoy at your lodges? We believe in supporting local businesses wherever possible and as such our menu features locally-sourced produce in every delicious dish we serve. All fresh fruit, vegetables and meat comes from family run businesses within our local market town of Narberth and fresh fish is sourced from a harbour based fishmonger in Milford Haven. Many of our dishes feature a selection of locally-made delicious cheese and all our chips and mashed potato come from Pembrokeshire Maris Piper potatoes. 22

CAMP SMOKEY (Seasonal)
Nestled at the bottom of Steep Ravine with a babbling brook coursing by on either side is Camp Smokey. Outdoor dining with a difference, it is the perfect venue to enjoy delicious smoked dishes all cooked to sizzling perfection right before your eyes.
THE KNIGHTS TAFARN The Tafarn is our traditional village pub, complete with an idyllic pub garden for those hazy summer days and a lounge area with a roaring log fire for cooler nights. The Tafarn serves a variety of traditional beers and ales alongside a sumptuous menu; Enjoy traditional ‘pub grub’ dishes with a local twist, all ingredients are sourced locally providing a fresh, seasonal edge on these tasty treats.
This enchanted wood themed cafe features a giant tree house, forester’s cottage, nest pod and squirrels’ drey, set around a giant 20ft tree. Listen out for the birds & animals whilst enjoying great food while looking out over the activities below in the Adventure Centre.

Getting Around
CYCLING It would be a shame not to explore our countryside during your stay and we have plenty of ways for you to go about it. Wherever you want to cycle we have the bike for you too! There are city type strollers if you’d like something for simply transporting you across the resort. If you’re going to get down and dirty on the muddy tracks of the forest then we have mountain bikes for adults and children. We also offer tag-alongs for young children that are not yet confident with cycling, these are easily attachable to the back of most standard bikes.
