AMERICAN IMMIGRATION LAWYERS ASSOCIATION 2012 FUNDAMENTALS OF IMMIGRATION LAW WORKSHOP LIVE & WEBCAST AILA NATIONAL OFFICE WASHINGTON, DC OCTOBER 11-12, 2012 AILA’s Fundamentals of Immigration Law workshop is a hands-on practicum designed for attorneys who are new to the complex area of immigration law. This unique conference features two distinct components:

Substantive Sessions: Prior to the conference, participants will be given access to five pre-recorded seminars covering the basics of substantive immigration law: General Overview, Employment-Based Nonimmigrant Visas, Employment-Based Immigrant Visas, Family-Based Immigrant Visas, and Naturalization. We encourage you to register early to ensure that you have adequate time to view each seminar before the live sessions. Viewing the five pre-recorded seminars that are included in the registration price will provide better context to the information provided at the live sessions in October.

Live Sessions: On October 11-12, 2012, we will present two days of live workshop sessions. Attend these sessions in-person at the AILA National Office (space is limited) or from the convenience of your home or office via webcast—either way, the program is live and interactive! All participants will be given a link to the conference recording so that you can watch any session you might need to miss or enable you to time shift- especially helpful for those who want to participate from the West Coast. Sessions are led by immigration experts who will show you how to prepare visa application and petition packages, and will offer tips based on years of experience, including how to identify and analyze “red flags.” You will also learn proven strategies for working with the many government agencies and regulatory bodies that oversee, interpret, and enforce immigration law, regulations, and policy.
