Visit Malaysia Year 2014 is the nation’s biggest and grandest tourism celebration with Malaysia Truly Asia’s endless wonders of events, festivals and activities all-year round. For our international tourists, this is the perfect time to see, feel and experience Malaysia! With the tagline “Celebrating 1Malaysia Truly Asia,” Sabah Cultural and Heritage Association (Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Selangor) is organizing Malaysia Borneo Cultural Festival. To be held in Kuala Lumpur (month of May), it is a collaboration event between The Association, Panggau Singai Events (Sarawak culture) and a well-known international fashion designer Von Jolly Couture. To further strengthen the cultural networking, the collaboration is also extended to tourism industrial players such as hoteliers, entrepreneur, transportation, tourist guide association and many others. This event will also be in aid of the Ar-Rahman Foundation, a foundation endorsed by the Prime Minister’s Office dedicated to assisting the less fortunate including single mothers and orphanages. With the theme “…bridging cultures and traditions,” and endorsed by Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia, it is an inaugural event with the aim to build unity, understanding and strong bond between Malaysian in line with the 1Malaysia concept. Furthermore, the festival is a chance for everyone to experience the wonderful culture of East Malaysia people particularly Sabah and Sarawak Ethnic. The venue’s ideal location within Klang Valley and along the shopping belt and around the historical city of Kuala Lumpur allows for easy access which in turn assures maximum exposure. This festival can also be best viewed as a prelude of the Gawai and Kaamatan harvest festival in May and June. This event will feature a variety of activities, including the searching for the inaugural Miss and Mister Malaysia Borneo Tourism; traditional cultural dance and singing performance; photojournalism competition; traditional food fiesta; folklore, arts and culture exhibition; multimedia display/seminar on cultural and heritage; charity works, and other public engagement based activities. This event serves as a perfect platform for promotion, wide coverage, networking, partnership and marketing purposes as it will be visited/attended by tourists locally and internationally. On top of that, unlike others, this event asserts a difference that goes beyond the trend while denoting a strong Malaysia Borneo (Sabah and Sarawak) identity. It is a celebration of art, cultural, heritage and tourism celebrating the diverse cultural background of East Malaysia ethnics (Sabah and Sarawak). Owing to its richness and diversity of East Malaysia ethnics, this festival is set to stand distinctively based on its own unique elements which are – Art, Cultural, Heritage and Tourism as a whole. The following are the major highlights to be held during the festival: Miss & Mister Borneo Malaysia Tourism The main highlight of this Malaysia Borneo Cultural Festival event is the search of the inaugural MISS & MISTER MALAYSIA BORNEO TOURISM. The Organizer is looking for ideal representatives who possess all qualities and choose the perfect winner to implement the responsibilities and carry out the right duties at the right time and in a right place. MISS AND MISTER MALAYSIA BORNEO TOURISM RULES AND REGULATION Parentage of each participant must be a Sabahan/Sarawakian citizen. Sabahan/Sarawakian male and female (not married) and has pleasant personality. (Bidayuh, Iban, Orang Ulu, Melanau, Kedayan, Kadazandusun, Murut, Rungus, Idahan, Orang Sungai or Sungoi, Bisaya, Lundayeh, Cocos and other Sabah/Sarawak natives) Knowledge of each race (costume, arts, culture and heritage) represented is an added advantage. Height requirement – at least 170cm for male, and 160cm for female. Age requirement for male contestant: must be at least 18 years of age and not more than 32 years of age by May 1st 2014. Age requirement for female contestant: must be at least 18 years of age and not more than 28 years of age by May 1st 2014. The audition dates: Miri, Sarawak (1st and 2nd March 2014) Sandakan, Sabah (8th and 9th March 2014) Kota Kinabalu, Sabah (15th and 16th March 2014) Kuching, Sarawak (22nd and 23rd March 2014) Kuala Lumpur (5th and 6th April 2014) Event’s venue: Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad, Kuala Lumpur Event’s date: 3th – 10th May 2014 (Grand Final 10th of May) Folklore Creative Ethnic Dance Competition 2 PERTANDINGAN Pertandingan ini dinamakan Pertandingan Tarian Malaysia Borneo Cultural Festival. Pertandingan ini adalah untuk menampilkan bakat dan kreativiti dalam seni tari mengikut konsep pertandingan (oleh Penganjur) yang bakal dipersembahkan oleh pereka tari dalam konsep menyeluruh etika pertandingan tarian. Pertandingan ini dijalankan di peringkat kebangsaan (Malaysia). MATLAMAT Memberi pendidikan dan pendedahan berkenaan Kebudayaan Sabah dan Sarawak di samping mempromosikan kepelbagaian Kebudayaan yang ada di Sabah dan Sarawak melalui elemen Tarian kepada masyarakat Malaysia khususnya dan dunia amnya. Bertujuan meningkatkan ilmu pengetahuan tentang nilai-nilai kesenian bangsa sebagai teras pembentukan masyarakat berbudaya. OBJEKTIF Menggalak serta menarik minat masyarakat Malaysia mengenali dan mempelajari Kebudayan Sabah dan Sarawak melalui tarian. Mendedahkan keunikan dan kepelbagaian Kebudayaan yang ada di Sabah dan Sarawak. Menggalakkan penyertaan pengiat seni tari di Malaysia tanpa mengira usia untuk bergerak aktif sebagai usaha menyemarakkan seni budaya. Mengekalkan kesinambungan Seni Tari sebagai medium untuk mempertahankan kekayaan budaya Sabah dan Sarawak untuk generasi akan datang. Sebagai alternatif berfeadah pembabitan masyarakat Malaysia dalam aktiviti sihat dan seterusnya melahirkan masyarakat Malaysia cintakan budaya melalui Tarian. SYARAT PENYERTAAN Pertandingan ini terbuka kepada warga negara Malaysia (untuk penari amatur sahaja). Terbuka kepada semua peringkat umur dan tidak terhad pada kaum etnik dari Sabah dan Sarawak. Tempoh persembahan oleh setiap kumpulan adalah minimum 8 minit dan maksimum 12 minit. (markah akan ditolak jika persembahan kurang atau melebihi tempoh yang telah ditetapkan) Pertandingan ini adalah berbentuk kumpulan yang dianggotai minimum 8 orang dan maksimum 12 orang (atas pentas). Anggota pasukan boleh terdiri daripada lelaki/perempuan sahaja atau campuran. Penglibatan peserta dari pelbagai kaum adalah digalakkan. Lagu atau muzik iringan semasa persembahan boleh terdiri daripada lagu lama atau baru yang telah diolah secara kreatif . (Instrumental atau muzik yang mengandungisuara dibenarkan). Setiap penyertaan hendaklah disertakan bersama borang penyertaan dan yuran penyertaan setiap kumpulan adalah RM150.00. Setiap kumpulan dibenarkan membawa alat bantu (props) yang bersesuaian dengan persembahan, tetapi pengunaan alat (props) yang merbahaya adalah dilarang sama sekali. Gerak tari yang berunsur negatif dan lucah adalah dilarang. Sebarang kerosakan atau kehilangan barang-barang, kecederaan atau kemalangan peserta semasa dan selepas tamatnya pertandingan adalah tidak ditanggung oleh pihak penganjur. Pihak penganjur berhak membatalkan penyertaan pasukan yang melanggar peraturan-peraturan yang telah dinyatakan dan keputusan pihak penganjur adalah muktamad.

(Harus disertakan dengan sinopsis) Tarian etnik kreatif Sabah dan Sarawak di mana setiap kumpulan perlu mempersembahkan tarian etnik kreatif Sabah dan Sarawak dalam satu persembahan). – campuran Sabah dan Sarawak. Golden Voice of Borneo Singing Competition Malaysia Borneo Cultural Festival @ warisansabah.comNatz Production Golden Voice of Borneo Singing Competition 2014 is organized and conducted by Natz Production Sdn Bhd, in conjunction with Malaysia Borneo Cultural Festival 2014. The competition terms and conditions: Registration opens to Malaysia citizens who originate from Sabah/Sarawak, between 18 – 35 years old. Recording artists who have had released any single/album are not eligible to compete in this singing competition. This competition is divided into 3 levels: Audition & Grand Final. Audition: Contestants are required to register online and to upload their singing video (with own song choice) to wetransfer.com and notify the organizer at
[email protected] OR- let us know the already-uploaded video link in Youtube. Length of your singing video must be at least 1 minute. Grand Final: Only five (10) Finalists will proceed to the final round of the competition. All cost pertaining to the airfare arrangements (back and forth) will be borne by all the finalists. The finalists will enjoy all expense-paid accommodation, transportation, meals; activities organized by Natz Production. Two songs are required for the Grand Finale. An ethnic/traditional/Malay song as well as one English song that the finalists need to perform on stage. The Grand Finale of Golden Voice of Borneo Singing Competition 2014 will also be held in Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad, Kuala Lumpur on the 9th May 2014. The champion winner will then perform for the Grand Final of Ms/Mr Malaysia Borneo Tourism on the 10th May 2014. Each contestant shall be judged on a scale of 1 to 10 by the judges, 1 being the lowest, and 10 being the highest score in vocal quality, appearance, pronunciation, tempo/rhythm, and performance. Decision of the judges is final. All contestants are bound to the rules and regulations of the competition fixed by the organizers. The organizers are not responsible to any damage or injury happened to any of the contestant himself/herself and their belongings during the course of the competition being held.
