Field Research Crew manager (Summers): Department of Geography, University of Oregon. Principle Investigator: Patricia McDowell Experience: Management of graduate and undergraduate students surveying channel morphology on the Middle Fork of the John Day River in Eastern Oregon. Channel morphology characteristics including channel cross section surveys, fish cover, and gravelometry. Graduate Researcher (MS Thesis): Department of Geography, University of Denver. Thesis Advisors: Dr. J. Michael Daniels, Dr. Hillary Hamann, Dr. Donald Sullivan, Dr. Lawrence Conyers Experience: Quantified small scale change on selected river bars through the Browns Canyon section of the Arkansas River, Colorado. Generated Digital Elevation Models using digital photogrammetry and the software PhotoScan. DEM differencing was done use CloudCompare. Graduate Research Assistant: University of Colorado, Boulder. Worked with doctoral candidate Francis Rengers and advisor Dr. Greg Tucker in the Geology Department conducting LiDAR surveys of gully erosion.

Experience: Creating informational web pages for earth process models, movies and simulations for educational purposes in the CSDMS network. Undergraduate Research Assistant: Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research, University of Colorado. Principle Investigators: J. Syvitski and I. Overeem. Experience: Installing river stage monitoring stations as part of a project to estimate ice sheet melt rates in Greenland. Undergraduate Research Assistant: Department of Geography, University of Colorado, Boulder. Principle Investigators: John Pitlick Experience: Surveying braided stream channels in the Sunrise Creek drainage basin. Channel profiles and reach scale surveying done using rod and surveying level. Discharge calculated using a current meter.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE 2012-2014 Instructor: University of Denver. I taught lab sections for the General and Honors Level Physical Geography Series focusing on the Atmosphere, Hydrosphere and Lithosphere . This included all aspects of planning and implementing lesson plans as well as holding regular office hours and grading papers. 2010-2011 CPR/First Aid Instructor: University of Colorado, Recreation Center. I was responsible for organizing class times and locations, creating and following lesson plans to ensure that all students were able to perform the necessary skills. Lessons included lecture and monitoring student’s skill display as well. Additional responsibilities included filing all appropriate paperwork to ensure that students received their certification cards. 2004-2009 Raft Guide/River Manager: All Outdoors California Whitewater Rafting. Responsibilities included guest instruction (paddling) and education (natural history, etc), as well as group dynamics in both easy and stressful, situations. Rivers guided include the South and Middle Fork American, North Fork Stanislaus and Tuolumne. River manager (Middle Fork American) responsibilities included personal management/leadership as well as organization of a rafting operation. Organizational responsibilities included overseeing permitting process, merchandise sale and accounting and shuttle/guide organization. 2002-2004 Outdoor Instructor: Center Activities, Humboldt State University. I taught and guided students/participants aged 10 and older in various outdoor activities including white water rafting, surfing, sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, kayaking and backpacking.
