Pan-Top Surface Coating: Asphaltic waterproofing compound. Units with stacked coils shall have an intermediate drain pan to collect condensate from top coil.

05/23/2018 GAS FURNACES (120,00 BTU OR LESS) 1. Fuel Type: Natural Gas (Contactor shall verify pressure and requirements) 2. Type: Condensing 3. Efficiency: 92% minimum 4. Filter: Furnish and install external media cabinet for 1” Merv 13 filters. Door shall be hinged with locking mechanism that can be opened without the use of tools. 5. Unit shall be designed, test and constructed to the current ANSI Z 21.47/CSA 2.3 design standard for gas-fired central furnaces. 6. Warranty: 1 year labor, 5 year parts, and 20 year heat exchanger. 7. Heat Exchangers: Shall be of aluminized steel or stainless steel. 8. Gas Valve: Modulating (between 40% and 100%) 9. Controls: Shall include a micro-processor-based integrated electronic control board and a self-test feature that checks all major functions of the furnace. ACCESSORIES A.

Control equipment and sequence of operation are: - Upstairs units shall allow occupants to change the temperature ±5°F with a 4-hour override. - Downstairs units shall allow occupants to change the temperature ±2°F with a 2-hour override. - Thermostats for all six systems in the building shall be replaced. (*Note the existing system to remain is a LENNOX system. Condenser Model #: TSA042S4N43Y, Serial #: 5814G12070. Indoor Coil Model #: CX34-43C-6F-1, Serial #: 6014H20678. Gas furnace model number was not accessible) - Thermostats shall be able to be adjusted off-site. Control access shall only be for Users approved by the City. Thermostats shall be able to change temperature of space, throttle between heating and cooling, and have alarm notice if temperature exceeds set point allowable variances. - Thermostat shall be a 7-day programmable thermostat that is first programmed by the contractor with occupied and unoccupied setpoints provided by the Owner.

Install and connect pre-charged refrigerant tubing to component's quick-connect fittings. Install tubing to allow access to unit. CONNECTIONS

A.

Where piping is installed adjacent to unit, allow space for service and maintenance of unit. Pipe shall be routed to allow access for maintenance staff to equipment and must penetrate the exterior wall at the same location as the existing refrigerant piping. All refrigerant and condensate piping for the five split systems being replaced is required to be replaced with new.

B.

Duct Connections: Contractor responsible for any duct modifications required to install new equipment back to the existing duct system. Contractor shall follow all applicable SMACNA standards.

3.3

FIELD QUALITY CONTROL A.

Manufacturer's Field Service: Engage a factory-authorized service representative to inspect, test, and adjust components, assemblies, and equipment installations, including connections.

B.

Perform tests and inspections. 1.

Tests and Inspections: 1. Operational Test: After electrical circuitry has been energized, start units to confirm proper motor rotation and unit operation. 2. Test and adjust controls and safeties. Replace damaged and malfunctioning controls and equipment.

Remove and replace malfunctioning units and retest as specified above.

Prepare test and inspection reports.

STARTUP SERVICE A.

Perform startup service. 1. 2.

Complete installation and startup checks according to manufacturer's written instructions. Provide written documentation showing startup procedures followed. This includes testing of the new thermostats on all six systems in the building.
