Hi there, I'm glad I found this thread. Before you commit I hoped to share my story of friendships lost. I am not the Arbonne consultant - my friends were and still are 12 months later. What happened was my old friend 'sharked' every friend and friend-of-friend that she could; literally everybody through social network sites, at important events weddings, Christenings. It became cringeworthy and I wasn't the ony one who noticed. I lost a good friend to 'the other side' (code word for BS marketing scams and ridiculous American marketing buzzwords). I think she was abducted by aliens or went through that 'Stepford Wives' machine - because she's not the same. I truly believe the only person who will benefit are those at the very top. Everyone else are puppets to these people. I was so upset at loosing my friend I sought the advice of a former boss - consequently a Marketing Director and his warnings were an eye opener: get her out of there...fast! As far as my knowledge tells me, there are some advantageous aspects of this career pathway: friendships (at least in the short term); a busy social life; beauty and skincare (although check out the ingredients list!!! - awful) and obviously the positive energy that the teams share is great. It's improtant people know, however, that this is all at a terrible price. That of filtering through your friends and family for business gain. Where is the dignity? I hope you find happiness whatever your decision. I just miss my friend (before the aliens abducted her) Login & Quick Reply

I decided against it! A few other of my friend's were poached and another of mine recently asked to meet up (predicting that it'd be about this, I declined) with her and promised to give me an un-brainwashed opinion on it all - though ironically, sounded as though she'd already been brainwashed. Not sure how they avoid the 'pyramid scheme' label, but they do, but that's all it seems like it is to me! Another friend told me the famous 'free white Mercedes' isn't even free, and the fees come out of what you'd have been earning?! Login & Quick Reply

I read the pay/incentive plan a while ago.
When you get to a very high level with them.( Regional Vice President) which requires you to build and keep going a large team of people. You buy/lease a white merc. They give you a monthly car bonus to pay for it . If you dont maintain the position they dont pay you. I read an american article not so long ago which said many people in the states in network marketing not solely Arbonne, qualify for the merc/bmw etc and then business starts evaporating and they cant pay for vehicle because bonus is withdrawn. So they end up losing car and getting into debt. Login & Quick Reply

"Something that seems dodgy" again please check out the DSA website for a list of legitimate companies. I am actually quite shocked at how rude people on here are, I and many others have set up a business and do not believe this to be a reason to come under personal attack from people who simply assume they are always right regardless of the fact that they have never researched the industry, naive you say!? And I do believe that if you were to only buy things that no-one had any vested interest in, you would in fact not buy a single thing, ever!! Login & Quick Reply

Direct Selling Legislation
Direct selling businesses and independent direct sellers are subject to the same financial and consumer protection legislation that govern any business selling consumer goods services. Arbonne would NOT be on there if the company was "dodgy".
I am merely here to defend the honour of our industry. I have a very successful network marketing business and indeed if I were a sheep I would be following the likes of yourselves. Good luck to you all with the path YOU choose, do try not to be bullied and do your own research! I will be deleting this account as I think this is not a nice place to spend my time. Here is a link that goes to facts for you -
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/money/article-2002488/Wife-Seventies-pop-star-David-Cassidy-alert-pyramid-selling.html FACT - Arbonne has been referred to Consumer Direct for possible breaches of laws on pyramid selling. FACT - Arbonne's US parent, Natural Products Group, almost collapsed in 2008 with debts of £315 million. FACT - Consultants, who must spend up to £2,000 on product samples, stationery, a website and promotional material, are urged to concentrate on recruiting more consultants. Also interesting is the large number of consumer group and scam awareness websites that have complaints about Arbonne. Login & Quick Reply

"Almost collapsed" 5 years ago!!! Do you know of any other company in the world that has ever had financial trouble? Of course not haha. I would say more interestingly is how there are so many complaints that it is a scam (probably by people that don't understand the industry so run scared) and yet STILL after 33years they have still not been shut down!? Hmm... Listen, you believe what you have to & I will continue to know what I have to. I could waste my time for the rest of my days with answers for these ridiculous "facts" or I could leave you to either do some proper research for yourself OR if you don't want to do it, don't do it, it's pretty simple. Again 33 years in business, give it up. Of course you do - flogging stuff to and signing up all your poor unsuspecting friends and family. Ok so you are now trying to explain to me what I do!? "My poor unsuspecting friends" does it not occur to you that I was once "a poor unsuspecting friend" haha, I have started my business after a friend explaining the options to me - I could have decided either way - it was left up to me to decide (unlike on here, you are not bullied into believing anything) I am thankful every day that she took the time to explain it to me. I have done my own research in to a number of Network Marketing opportunities that friends have asked me to join.
