APPENDIX 1 Project Management Stage 2 Recommendations Recommendation a) Projects are classified gold, silver or bronze b) Projects undergo the scoring system at programme level to assist with their grading c) The silver and bronze projects adhere to a separate streamlined version of the existing procedures d) Performance & Development Team own the Council’s project management process e) A twice yearly project managers’ forum is introduced f) The interactive highlight reporting spreadsheet is used by all project managers g) Reduced Project Initiation Document (PID) for Bronze projects h) Reduced Project End Report for Bronze projects i)

A section detailing responsibilities of all project board/team members is included in the Gold/Silver PID All project managers have attended the Council’s 2 day training course as a minimum and the Council’s course to be amended to include agreed recommendations of this report Working towards project managers of Gold projects achieving PRINCE 2 Foundation and Practitioner qualifications Working towards programme chairs and project sponsors attending a PRINCE 2 Overview course In principle secondments / backfilling / temporary staff is required to cover key staff who undertake gold projects Consideration of an Council Project Support Office Revamp of the Council’s project management intranet site, to become a user friendly source of project management information
