EARLY SUMMER NEWS

Hello to all existing members, and a warm welcome to those of you who have recently joined our club. We hope you are all getting out and about and enjoying all things equine. RED ALERT Preparations are being finalised for our Open Club Show at Corner Farm Spilsby on 31st May which I’m sure you all have marked in your diaries and are planning to attend!! Our/ YOUR show has lots of different classes and definitely something for everyone so make sure you tell as many people as possible and let’s make this event our biggest to date! As we are affiliated to the British Riding Club we have to have in place certain personnel to meet with their requirements. One such position is that of Child Welfare Officer. We are now looking for 2 members to help us fulfil this obligation. North Hykeham RC are hosting a Safeguarding & Protecting Children Workshop on 15th June 7-10pm at St Hughes Church Hall Hykeham. If you feel you would like to help us by attending or if you have any questions please contact Ann on 01205 723955 ASAP and she will give you all the info. Area 16 is holding a SJ clinic on Tuesday 7th July at Horse World Osgodby for unmounted riders to walk around a course of jumps with David Cole a BSJA/FEI course builder and get the judges view explained by a BSJA judge. This sounds like it could be quite interesting and for only £2 its worth giving Ann a call on 01205 723955 and booking yourself a place!

Area Competitions We have a member who is looking for team mates to enter the Area Dressage event at Sheepgate on 4th of July. They wish to

enter the Prelim 13 class so if dressage floats your boat book yourself in with Ann 01205 723955 by the 8th June and go and have a try. We also need members to make up a team for the area SJ at Eagle Moor on 12th July we have a member who is planning to compete in the novice class but we need more of you to give it a go, it’s a lovely relaxed venue and a good chance to do something that little bit different. Give Ann a call by 14th of June on 01205 723955

A huge congratulation goes to Victoria Bignall and her horse Shamrock who represented our club at The Royal Windsor Horse Show. Well Done and Thank You. A report of the day and result will feature in a future newsletter. A Thank You also goes to Rosemary White for organizing a delicious sausage and mash supper, Karen Barker for the entertaining quiz, Rosemary Hicks who donated the rosettes and judged the amusing photo competition and to all helpers who made the evening FUNTASTIC.

Website news, we are in the process of creating a new website and it has come to our attention that sometimes our usual address doesn’t respond. I myself don’t understand the complexities of these problems but have been assured that we do have a site available and all usual info should be there so its www.community.lincolnshire.gov.uk/southlincolnshireridingcl ub for now at least. I think we’d all better put it in our favourites under slrc in case we lose count of how many lincolnshires we’ve typed!!
