Author, Presenter, Fashion Expert and a girl's best friend, Gok Wan is this week's pretty stylish person. With two fashion bibles under his belt; How to Dress: Your Complete Style Guide and How to Look Good Naked, plus the TV show Fashion Fix, his mission to help women look and feel in vogue has been by no means an easy feat, but he's gradually helping us to win the battle against our own body hangups. I like the fact that the he knows exactly what he's talking about, having had his own body issues; at the age of 20, Gok was 21 stone and had been bullied as a child for being overweight and rather ignorantly, his mixed race heritage. But the boy's done good now, having shed the extra pounds and proven to himself and those who doubted him that he's fabulous! So when I watch him giving women a pep talk, telling them how gorgeous they are and teaching them the secrets to looking good, I'm not of the cynical opinion that it's all too sickly sweet. Being a woman that sometimes fluctuates from a size 8-12, I'm often share the same hangups as the women on his show and I think he does a great job to educate that you can look and feel good whatever size you are. Gok doesn't promote a 'stick thin' mentality nor does he condone obesity but at whatever stage you're at, whether your dealing with being a little too voluptuous or you're completely happy at your size, he explains how to make your body shape work for you, whatever your budget. It's all about the feel good factor he brings and I hope he continues to keep up the good work! Gok I salute you. I can not sing enough praises to all the participants on wardrobe remix. The variety of shapes, sizes, and ages not only inspires the way I dress now, but also gives me hope that as I age, I won't have to resign myself to never leaving my house again. In the past when my mom would consult me for fashion advice, I generally had to make something up from my imagination.... It's not like the fashion magazines are overflowing with examples of women in my mom's demographic (not in her 20's, or 30's, or even 40's for that matter) and up until the past 10 years or so, plus-sized clothing selection sucked (my mom would commonly say, most of it looked like "glorified circus tents" or "grandma clothes"). (and now the pitch) Today when I was offering advice to my mom, I was not making up stuff as I went along, I actually knew what I was talking about from real examples (as seen on wardrobe remix). and in other stories.... Also available on DVD Though the perpetually touring Haggard has been known to deliver some perfunctory performances, this 1985 Austin City Limits taping was plainly a delight for artist and audience alike. The recording (also available on DVD) presents Haggard not as a living legend, delivering rote renditions of all the hits that have made him one, but as a vital, creative artist keeping it fresh for himself as well as the faithful. Sure, there are signature hits here, including the early "Mama Tried" (introduced with a lovely verse from "Tulare Dust") and the shimmering "Silver Wings." But performances such as the tender vocal on "Thank You for Keeping My House" and the bittersweet sophistication of "What Am I Gonna Do (With the Rest of My Life)" give even better indication of his expressive depth and subtle mastery. George Jones may be the most emotive country singer alive, but Merle Haggard could well be the most influential, with the conversational phrasing and plainspoken conviction that have made him the gold standard for younger generations of artists. He pays ample tribute to Bob Wills with four selections from the Texas Playboys' songbook, while additionally showcasing his jazzier side with the Dixieland brass that punctuates the opening "Okie from Muskogee's Comin' Home." From the boozy ruminations of "Misery and Gin" through the romantic regret of "Place to Fall Apart," few singers can make feeling bad sound as good as Haggard. Yet the raucous closer of "I Think I'll Just Sit Here and Drink" finds his honky-tonk as raucous as ever. --Don McLeese

After getting inspiration from the exhibition Grace Kelly: Style Icon, the young people worked with studio lighting and shot on location in the V&A galleries before learning post-production and retouching in Photoshop.

Ok so I shot the fashion show at my high school the other night and let me tell you, it was no easy task. So much went wrong it's not even funny. With that said, it was also a GREAT networking experience. I met a bunch of cool model/wardrobe stylists/designers and helped train Stephen all at the same time. Anyways, unsurprisingly, Maria here won so I did some photos with her in the behind the scenes studio that we (me and Stephen) had set up. In the midst of it all, it takes a child to reveal the truth that no one else can see! Part of Cannon's Movietale series, The Emperor's New Clothes is a frenetic musical take on Hans Christian Andersen's fable. The good news is that Sid Caesar makes for an entertaining Emperor. The bad news is that the incessant slapstick grows tiresome, though the tunes, like "Clothes Make the Man" ("Change 'em every hour/that's how a politician stays in power") aren't bad. In David Irving's adaptation, Caesar's Emperor insists on wearing only the "most beautiful, most exquisite" outfits. When he meets tailor Henry Dispenser (two-time Tony winner Robert Morse) and his assistant, Nicholas (Babylon 5's Jason Carter), who offer to make him a suit stitched with diamond thread, he showers them with jewels. In return, the con men give him, well, nothing. Only the smart, they explain, can see their fantastic creations. Since the Emperor's minions don't wish to seem stupid, they praise his fleshy resplendence. Naturally, the Emperor discovers the awful truth--not only has he been had, but he looks like an idiot. Irving is also behind Cannon's Sleeping Beauty and Rumpelstiltskin (starring his sister, Amy Irving). Not too surprisingly, The Emperor's New Clothes feels like it was churned out fairly quickly, but the crazy costumes are a hoot. Most would give fashion critic Mr. Blackwell conniptions, but their garishness is what makes them amusing. 1893 Print Illinois Building Chicago World's Fair Sailing Fashion Flag Boyington - Original Cover
This is an ultra-rare original 1893 color cover from the Chicago "The Inter Ocean" Illustrated Supplement depicting the Illinois Building. The structure was designed by architect W. W. Boyington, and cost around $250,000 to construct. The dome was two hundred feet high, and the building was four hundred and fifty feet long. Please note that this image is torn in half. Because of the rarity of these prints, they are usually sold in the $200-$500 range, but in such condition, we cannot sell it for that price. Note that the tear can be obscured and camouflaged by matting and framing the two pieces together, as apart from the tear, this piece is a wonderful representation of the Illinois Building. Period Paper has obtained arguably one of the most rare, exclusive collections of original color images of the 1893 Chicago World's Fair (The World's Columbian Exposition). Over the last several years we have acquired and sold thousands of items from this Exposition, and we continue to offer lithographs, prints, and photogravures. However; this exclusive collection is not offered publicly anywhere else. The original front and rear covers from Chicago's coveted The Inter Ocean Illustrated Supplement from 1893 are stunning in their size, color saturation, and condition. This was the very first color supplement produced on a high speed newspaper press, developed in late 1892 in preparation for the Exposition.The Inter Ocean was released 3 times per week at times during the Exposition. Most of the cartoons were produced by a pair at opposite ends of their careers-- Thomas Nast and Art Young. Period Paper holds the largest collection of original 1893 Chicago World's Fair original print ephemera, fine art, and historical images in the world. This is by far the most rare of all the collections related to the fair we have discovered. Please note that there is printing on the reverse.

Vintage fashion fair
I had my friend pose in her vintage fashion in front of this old FJ Holden we spotted in the car park .Naturally she won a prize as soon as we entered the fair which is usually held at Canterbury Racecourse (Sydney)twice a year.
