Introduction: This form is designed to gather information about your interest in Experiential Education activities and
to determine how OEECE can best assist you. Experiential education: is defined as a philosophy and methodology in which educators purposefully engage with learners in direct experience and focused reflection in order to increase knowledge, develop skills and clarify values (Association for Experiential Education). Experiential learning: is defined as engaged learning in which the learner experiences a visceral connection to the subject matter….and combines direct, meaningful student experiences with guided reflection and analysis (Learn and Serve America's National Service-Learning Clearinghouse).

What category of experiential learning most interests you? Engaged Learning - Student learning through service or actions done on behalf others that takes place in varying
segments of the community. Examples may include: Volunteerism, Community-based Learning, Laboratory simulation, Practicum, Learning Community, Creative activities (i.e. Dance performance, choreography, paintings and other works of art), International-based learning, and Internship.
Engaged Service - Learning - Student learning through course instruction and reflection that provides direct
service or indirect service to forward the mission and goals of an organization. Examples may include: Servicelearning, Project-based service-learning, Student teaching, Capstone, Clinical, Creative activities (i.e. Dance performance, choreography, paintings and other works of art), International service, Internship.
Engaged Service - Scholar - Student learning through community-based information gathering and critical analysis to address local initiatives for social and economic change. Examples may include: Undergraduate research, Capstone project (research-based), Thesis, Community-based research, Community development, Community-based research /Creative activities (i.e. Major Dance performance, Original choreography, paintings and other original works of art).
