Introduction Ready to learn how Google+ works? You have come to right place. In this document we’ll take a look at how to setup a Google+ Page and Googe+ functionality. What is the Google+ Project? Google+ is very similar to Facebook. You can have a personal profile for Google+ and now a Page. Personal profiles are for you and Pages are for your business or cause. What is a Google+ Page A Google+ Page is a social media profile for a local business or place, product or brand, company, institution or organization. What is a +1 Google+1 is a new way to support a webpage online. You can +1 anything by clicking a +1 button. +1 buttons can be found on websites, in search listings and in Google + Pages and Profiles.
By clicking +1 you share this post with your Google+ Circles. It will also give the webpage higher search rankings in Google search.

Quick Steps to Setting up a Google+ Page Step 1: Create a Google+ Account Here: https://plus.google.com/up/start/
Once you have your own profile you can create a page. Learn more about Google+ profiles here. Step 2: Go to this Link to Create a Page: https://plus.google.com/pages/create

Step 3: Pick a Category for your Page
Make sure to select the category that most closely resembles the purpose of your page.

Step 4: Add a Location and Phone Number
After adding your location and phone number to Google+, click locate. Google will then search for your business in their database.

Step 4a: Add your Business If your business is listed skip this step! Move to 4b.
If your business is not listed in Google’s database you will need to add your business information.
Step 4b: Select your Business
If your business is listed select your business listing and proceed.

Step 5: Confirm your Information Click Create
Just fill out this simple form and then click create.

Step 6: Customize your Profile
Add a photo to your page.

Step 7: Share your Page in Circles
Tell everyone about your new page!
When you are done click finish.

Important Points Now you can post to your page, add Google+ products to your site, share your new Google+ URL or grow your circles!
Note: You will now be using Google+ as the page. This means your post and interactions will appear as coming from the page name.

Finding your Page You can access your pages just under the icon in the upper left.
You can find your pages here. Click on an individual page or click manage your pages to view all pages.

How to Use your Page Once you have your page up and running there is lots you can do. Go home, view photos, view your profile or your circles from these icons.
Add photos, videos, links or your location clicking on one of these icons.
Your stream is the information that feeds into your page. These are example circles that you can use to categorize your stream (see glossary for more info).

Google + Glossary Google+ has its own features and terms. Learn about them below. Circles Go to your Circles by finding and clicking where you have the option to see People in your circles, People who’ve added you or Find and Invite. Be aware people can be added to your circles who aren’t on Google+ yet. ―You share different things with different people. So sharing the right stuff with the right people [online] shouldn’t be a hassle. Circles makes it easy to put your friends from Saturday night in one circle, your parents in another, and your boss in a circle by himself – just like real life.‖ – Google
People in your circles shows everyone you’ve added to any circle. Users are notified when they have been added to any of your circles, but they aren’t told which circle they’ve been put into. This allows for discreet classification. In this way, users of interest can be added to your Following circle. A one-way connection will give you updates on their content without subjecting them to choose whether you’ll be part of their social network or not. Very much like Twitter!

Hangouts Google says, ―With Hangouts, the unplanned meet-up comes to the web for the first time. Let specific buddies (or entire circles) know you’re hanging out and then see who drops by for a face-to-face-to-face chat. Until teleportation arrives, it’s the next best thing”. To start a hangout, look on the right side near the middle of your home screen to find the option to Start a hangout. A prompt will pop up asking you to first install the Google Voice and Video Plug-in. You'll be taken to a "green room" where Google helps you get your camera set up and choose additional circles or individuals to add to the hangout. No one can see you while you're in the green room. Once you click the green Hang Out button your live video feed will be broadcast to those you specified.

Instant Uploads Instant Upload saves all of your mobile photos instantly online to a private folder within your Google account. Nobody can see them unless you explicitly share them. Your photos and videos upload themselves automatically so they are ready and waiting to be shared. All you have to do is decide who to share them with. The next time you log in, the photos button in the status bar will have a number, indicating how many new uploads are available for sharing. It keeps these photos and videos available for sharing for up to eight hours after upload.

Sparks Very similar to Stumbleupon and Twitter, Sparks is intended to instantly connect people everywhere to content that’s most important and relevant to them. This recommendation engine instigates sharing by helping users easily find captivating content. The system is algorithmic — it relies on information from other Google products (e.g. Google Search) as well as what is being shared via Google+ and through +1 buttons. This will make Google the one-stop shop for not only finding content, as Google is most often used for, but now for sharing that content as well. In this way, you can add Interests using your most searched topics and easily track and access a plethora of up-to-date information on that topic you’ve deemed of interest.

Messenger Messenger is designed to make mobile group texting easy by allowing accessible contact with Google+ users. Messenger is a new way for you to easily stay in touch with Google+ users while you're on the go. With Messenger, you can text groups of people or individual friends in Google+ Mobile. When you receive a new message in Messenger, Google+ sends a push notification to your phone. To Start a Huddle: From the Google+ home screen, touch Messenger. Touch the conversation icon
to start a Messenger group.
Start to type the name of a person or circle you’d like to add. Up to 50 people can be a member of your huddle and receive mass texts sent by you. Type your message Touch done. Your message will be sent instantly. When you share Messenger with someone who’s never used it before, they’ll automatically receive an invitation to join your Messenger.
