My Fellow Classmates of 1963: Twenty-five, yes 25, years ago we left Boonton High. I must admit that 25 years seems like a long time; however, there are still some classes, teachers, incidents, sporting events, and parties that I remember as if it were yesterday. The memories that I have of my beloved Class of '63 are far better than those of elementary school, college, or my first job. As each reunion rolls around, I find that it has become more and more difficult to compose a welcoming message. For the first reunion, the words flowed freely and lightly. We revisited our high school years, four happy and generally carefree years, which were instantly recalled and shared by all of us in our tenth year out. Together, we also looked to a promising - albeit seemingly distant future. We spoke about marriage, starting families, and buying houses. The message of the last reunion came with more difficulty. Twenty years made remembrance of the frivolities of high school a lot more distant. Discussion of families changed from the joys of babies to the difficulties of teenagers, divorce and mid-life crises. Despite the problems of everyday life, we found that echoing our high school memories brought happiness to us all and there was talk about having a reunion every year. So as we gather together to catch up with each other, brag about our accomplishments and talk about our kids (and our grandchildren), let's allow ourselves to relive some of the greatest years of our lives - those at Boonton High as the great Class of '63. Welcome, alumni, to our 25th Reunion. I would also like to welcome all spouses and guests. I hope you all enjoy the evening of great music, dancing and memories. It was all made possible through the efforts of our Reunion Committee. We owe a special thanks to them for making this evening possible. Gary Bromley

THE RED & BLACK (Tune: Princeton Cannon March)

There is a banner in the sky, The streaming Red and Black, And under it all Boonton's foes Are gallantly turned back. Her warriors brave have struggled on With steadfast, lofty aim, And placed the shining Red and Black On enduring heights of fame.

Chorus Rally to your colors now, For Boonton High School calls on you, Fight, fight for victory And for honor true. Rah! Rah! Rah! Proudly she watches you, You will not fail her in the cause, With hearts loyal and true Bring her own colors through Boonton's Red and Black.

II

The glorious flag which which flaunts the breeze Breathes of a courage rare, Fine purposes and high resolves, To challenge them who dare. While Boonton High School thus goes on Unswerving, firm and true, She looks to use to carry on Her work and ideals, too.

Helen C. Dunn Class of 1923

WE LEARNED IT ALL IN KINDERGARTEN Most of what I really need to know about how to live and what to do and how to be I learned in Kindergarten. Wisdom was not at the top of the graduate school mountain but there in the sandbox. These are the things I learned: Share everything. Play fair. Don't hit people. Put things back where you found them. Clean up your own mess. Don't take things that aren't yours. Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody. Wash your hands before you eat. Live a balanced life. Learn some and think some, and draw and sing and dance and play and work every day some. Take a nap in the afternoon. When you go out into the world, watch for traffic, hold hands and stick together. Be aware of wonder. Remember the little seed in the plastic cup. The roots go down and the plant goes up, and nobody really knows why, but we are a77 like that. Goldfish and hamsters and white mice and even the little seed in the plastic cup - they all die. So do we. And then remember the book about Dick and Jane and the first word you learned, the biggest word of all: LOOK. Everything you need to know is in there somewhere. The golden rule and love and basic sanitation. Ecology and politics and sane living. Think of what a better world it would be if we all had cookies and milk about three o'clock in the afternoon and then lay down with our blankets for a nap. Or if we had a basic policy in our nation and other nations always to put things back where we found them and cleaned up our own messes. And it is still true, no matter how old you are, when you go out into the world it is best to hold hands and stick together.

THE PLAN OF THE MASTER WEAVER Our lives are but fine weavings That God and we prepare, Each life becomes a fabric planned And fashioned in His care... We may not always see just how The weavings intertwine, But we must trust the Master's hand

And though it's difficult for us. We still must understand

That it's He who fills the shuttle, It's He who knows what's best, So we must weave in patience And leave to Him the rest... Not till the loom is silent And the shuttles cease to fly

And follow His design, For He can view the pattern

Shall God unroll the canvas And explain the reason why—

Upon the upper side, While we must look from underneath And trust in Him to guide. Sometimes a strand of sorrow

The dark threads are as needed In the Weaver's skillful hand As the threads of gold and silver In the pattern He has planned.

Is added to His plan,
