I have a question regarding Borax. I do not like the taste. I was wondering if it would be effective to take borax in a capsule as an alternative? I grew up in a moldy envirnment and have had problems with pcos, acne, hirstism, energy, food allergies, candida, etc. Reply

Does anyone know if a person who had a triple by-pass, including 2 stents placed in heart area can use Borax? One of my stents was medicated back then, even had a recall? But with this surgery came severe Insomnia, probably from Plavix. Plavix I found out latter is a treatment for maybe 6 months, I was on it for 8 yrs? No one said a word, so I think this maybe caused the insomnia? Please help. Reply

Ok so for those having issues with Borax. I took 1/4 teaspoon in an 8 once glass of hot water about the temp you would make tea at. It was incredible each day pain seemed to melt away. About 3 weeks into this I started to get diarrhea. So I droped my dose from 1/4 teaspoon a day to 1/8 teaspoon a day and everything was good. Did improvements slow? Yes. Did my pain come back? No. I figure after a few months I will try moving back to 1/4 teaspoon a day. Oh I am 44 years have had 3 ankle surgeries, a knee surgery, have diabetes, a leaking heart valve and a whole in half my sacrum from spinabifida. I have been terrible pain since age six and was told I would never walk again, never play sports again blah blah....Since I had the right knee of a 90 year old man at age 12 I played sports, lifted weights, climbed mountains etc..... Oh I forgot about my broken spine and arthritis in multiple joints including my left hand. Slowly but surely I am reversing my type ii diabetes with diet and exercise. I am reversing my many issues with nutrients including Borax. I know what it is to go from squatting over 700lbs. bench pressing 475lbs. to barely being able to get out of the way of one's own shadow. So just keep in mind that if a dose of Borax is too high and causes you side effects do not give up on it just cut the dose until the side effects go away. You can always build up but if you give up well all is lost! Take each day one day at a time. Think in terms of weeks, months, years, decades. You did not end up where you are instantly so it will likely take some time to turn things around. As a fellow American I know we are short on patience as a Nation and want Instant Results but life does not work that way usually! Stay focused on the dream and just take one step towards it each day a marathon is not a huge intense sudden effort rather it is a series of moderate efforts repeated over and over and over again until you get to the end! Be blessed! -Sincerely, John. Reply

Judging by the percentage of negative results on Ted's regimen, and the positive results my family has experienced, I would say it's probably safe to assume this dose is too high for the average person. My family hast been taking only at most a 1/2 tsp in 5 gallons of water daily - there are 4 of us - we put it in our 5 gal dispenser along with some other minerals (favorite being Himalayan pink salt for its 88 minerals). My husband and I are over 50 and have no aches or pains caused by arthritis or rheumatism - and we have had our share of bone injuries in the past. Can't say it has helped the Candida on my part, I could probably stand to up the dose from here. This is the dose I started my husband and kids on and no problems at all - good benefits I can see. I hope you will try this to get your daily Boron, just start low, low, low. Good luck and God bless! Reply

When you look at boron vitamin supplements, the amount is almost always around 3 mg. so I would think 56-113 mg. is way too much. A friend of mine always said just a pinch a day; which would make a lot more sense. If 1/8 tsp in 1 liter = 56mg. then use 10 liters instead to get it down to 5.6 mg. Reply

Ted and many others here including myself have mentioned Borax as a very effective arthritis remedy that is readily available and is dirt cheap. Borax is just over 11% boron so if you use Borax at the doses that Ted has previously mentioned of 1/8th teaspoon for smaller people and 1/4th teaspoon for larger people, you will be getting about 55mg or 110mg of boron respectively. For me it takes the larger dose to completely control arthritis, but each person is different and starting lower and working your way up makes good sense......why use more than you need to get the desired health benefit. Dr. Rex Newnham, Ph.D., D.O., N.D, who discovered and popularized the use of Borax and boron in the 1960's said that some people found benefit with as little as 10 mg per day and for people who's condition was more severe and or of longer duration, it could take more Borax or boron and it could take up to 3 or 4 months to get the full benefit. Studies on boron show that it offers many health benefits to people that goes well beyond just arthritis and osteoporosis, two common uses for it. Below is a short abstract from PubMed that lists some of those health benefits of which there are more than what is listed. For those who are concerned about the safety of Borax and boron, as you should be, there is an abstract below the first one that explains this in clear language and Ted's dosing does not even come close! Nothing Boring About Boron. Abstract The trace mineral boron is a micronutrient with diverse and vitally important roles in metabolism that render it necessary for plant, animal, and human health, and as recent research suggests, possibly for the evolution of life on Earth. As the current article shows, boron has been proven to be an important trace mineral because it (1) is essential for the growth and maintenance of bone; (2) greatly improves wound healing; (3) beneficially impacts the body's use of estrogen, testosterone, and vitamin D; (4) boosts magnesium absorption; (5) reduces levels of inflammatory biomarkers, such as high-sensitivity Creactive protein (hs-CRP) and tumor necrosis factor (TNF-); (6) raises levels of antioxidant enzymes, such as superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase, and glutathione peroxidase; (7) protects against pesticide-induced oxidative stress and heavy-metal toxicity; (8) improves the brains electrical activity, cognitive performance, and short-term memory for elders; (9) influences the formation and activity of key biomolecules, such as S-adenosyl methionine (SAM-e) and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD(+)); (10) has demonstrated preventive and therapeutic effects in a number of cancers, such as prostate, cervical, and lung cancers, and multiple and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma; and (11) may help ameliorate the adverse effects of traditional chemotherapeutic agents. In none of the numerous studies conducted to date, however, do boron's beneficial effects appear at intakes > 3 mg/d. No estimated average requirements (EARs) or dietary reference intakes (DRIs) have been set for boron-only an upper intake level (UL) of 20 mg/d for individuals aged ≥ 18 y. The absence of studies showing harm in conjunction with the substantial number of articles showing benefits support the consideration of boron supplementation of 3 mg/d for any individual who is consuming a diet lacking in fruits and vegetables or who is at risk for or has osteopenia; osteoporosis; osteoarthritis (OA); or breast, prostate, or lung cancer. Comparative toxicology of borates. Hubbard SA1.

Author information Abstract Inorganic borates, including boric acid, Na, ammonium, K, and Zn borates generally display low acute toxicity orally, dermally, and by inhalation. They are either not irritant or mild skin and eye irritants. Exceptions owing to physiochemical properties do occur. Longer-term toxicological studies have been reported mainly on boric acid or borax where the properties are generally similar on an equivalent boron (B) basis. The critical effects in several species are male reproductive toxicity and developmental toxicity. The doses that cause these effects are far higher than any levels to which the human population could be exposed. Humans would need to consume daily some 3.3 g of boric acid (or 5.0 g borax) to ingest the same dose level as the lowest animal NOAEL. No effects on fertility were seen in a population of workers exposed to borates or to a population exposed to high environmental borate levels. There is remarkable similarity in the toxicological effects of boric acid and borax across different species. Other inorganic borates that simply dissociate to boric acid are expected to display similar toxicity, whereas those that do not dissociate simply to boric acid may display a different toxicological profile. I buy boric acid powder at the pharmacy and mix a small portion with boiled water. (You can find amounts online). You can soak gauze in it then apply it. In the old days, and I mean in the 1920s-1950s - my grandmother always kept a warm pan of boric acid water on the back of the stove. It was that important to have on hand when raising six kids. They didn't have antibiotics for most of those years - so infections were drawn out with compresses and wounds were sterilized this way. Reply

If you are unsure how much boron you are receiving from borax (sodium tetraborate, sodium borate, sodium tetraborate or even disodium tetraborate). Here is how you figure it out: Borax is: Na2B4O7.10H20 The atomic weights are: Na = 22.98976928, B = 10.81, O = 15.999, H = 1.008 Therefore: (22,9897*2)+(10.81*4)+(15.999*1*10)+(1.008*2*10)=381.3625 approx. Total Boron is 10.81*4=43.24 Boron factor is 43.24/381.3625 = .11338 Boron factor is .11338 so the boron percentage is 11.338%. So regardless of how much volume of borax you use you need to weigh it and multiply the total weight of borax by .11338, this give you how much boron you are receiving. This brings back memories of high school chemistry. ;) Reply

Dear Earth Clinic, Boron Consumption Update with Questions: I have been taking 5 times the maintenance dose daily for some weeks, with a day or two break here and there. I have seen an improvement in overall energy of the body, and aches and pains of the joints don't seem to last more then a short time. Starting on a higher dose I notice a severe reaction (host flushes, numbness of face, disorientation) of 1/4 to 1/8 a teaspoon. I still get the hot face feeling a little bit on the low dose, though I think I have found the amount that works for me. A friend of mine in his early 70's has started on the same does that I have, though he splits his up into two cups of water a day. The process for consumption; is using one of the teaspoon sets; like these http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Amco-Measuring-Spoons-for-Small-Amounts-/141301745022?pt=Measuring_Cups&hash=item20e63d857e&_uhb=1 the smallest teaspoons on there works out to be about 1/64 of a teaspoon. I weighed and calculated; 2 of these (in two doses) or one the size up from this is (1/32 of teaspoon size on that set, the second smallest teaspoon in the set), that 2 of the first, or one of the second; is equal to 5 times the maintenance dose of 3mg of boron a day. I calculated the boron as 11% of the the borax molecule. I think my calculations were such; Having measured a heaped teaspoon of borax at around 6.5 grams, then calculating that a liter of water is 202 teaspoons; we end up with 1 teaspoons equaling about 33mg or 0.033g of borax content. Thus working out that this has only 11% boron (of the the 33mg) we end up with 3mg content or 0.003g or boron in each teaspoon. Thus working out that two of the 1/64th of 1 of the 1/32 teaspoons sizes *in the drop, pinch etc. set mentioned above. Calculated these to be 0.14g or 140mg. Thus boron content is 11% = 15.4mg of boron content; which is 5 times the maintenance does of 3mg a day. Thus when the effects become clear and at completion one can go down to the maintenance dose by drinking the solution over 5 days. * I found the idea of using a liter with a teaspoon, two difficult for my life style in the bush. * I would suggest always using borax, as its alkaline, as apposed to boric acid which is mixed with hydrochloric acid and acidic already. Note; make the solution with boiling water, add the amount then stir. Drink anytime afterwards (i usually drink it an hours or few hours later, or over a few days). My question to ted; is about boron build up; should one even with small detox as here; have a day or two of a week; or can one stick through on the 5 times does; or its a personal decision? What are the effects of build up in the body. P.S My friend has noticed a great improvement in his arthritis; though both he and I do take some magnesium as well (small dose) P.P.S In Australia there is a company called blants; it can be ordered cheaply from there website; it comes from turkey, very good quality. P.P.P.S The only other side affect that I noticed that if it is taken in the evening sometimes it can cause insomnia for several hours; (only happened to both me and my friend on one occasion each). Kind Regards, A Friend From Australia THANKYOU MOST KINDLY FOR YOUR HELP :-) Peace Reply

Dear Mr. Ted, I hope this finds you well. I am writing to ask you a few questions regarding Borax intake. I've read that Borax may help in increasing the free testosterone and at the same time reducing the estrogen levels, so I have decided to give it a try. Recently, I started to take Lugol's iodine along with Vit C, Magnesium (400 mg), a B complex (50 mg) and Selenium (200 mcg). As for the appropriate dosage for Borax, I am quite confused. I have prepared the 1 litre concentrate with water (non fluorated) and a teaspoon of Borax. Yesterday I took 1 teaspoon of the liquid concentrate and I intend to do this daily with 2 days off as you suggest. 1. Is this dosage ok? 2. How would you recommend -if you do- to increase the dosage? 2. How much Boron is there in 1 teaspoon of liquid Borax concentrate? 2. How much would be the maximum safe dosage per day -in teaspoons? 3. How long does Boron take to have a noticeable effect or to build up in the body? Thank you in advance for your kind reply. Best Regards, Eduardo SPAIN Reply

I think the dilution is to avoid getting to much NaCl (table salt) in your tummy. The Borax reacts with the HCl in your stomach to form Boric acid (H3BO3) and NaCl. If you drink salt water at too high a concentration, you will vomit. I would surmise, then that if you take Borax at too high a concentration, you would also vomit from the resultant salt water. Hi TrudyG and all others suffering from insomnia, I also have opposite reactions to pharmacy drugs, OTC & Rx. Three things have helped me ENORMOUSLY, and all of them don't seem to be mentioned in this thread: http://www.earthclinic.com/cures/insomnia6.html#MR_100360 First, taking a nightly capsule of organic borage oil, regular dose, an hour before bed got me deeply asleep, deeply dreaming, and very calm/confidentfeeling the next day. It does take about 3 weeks for most people to have results, although I seem to recall it was more like 10 days for me. After a while I ran out and forgot to take it, only remembered while reading here. Next, I got an inversion table. You can set it so that you start with a relatively low angle of inversion, by tying the strap underneath--say, 20-30 degrees for at least 10 minutes. That feels like plenty to me. If your heart is lower than your feet by 17 degrees, apparently the lymph glands release and clear. Other benefits I've noticed: practically no asthma, NO INSOMNIA, back pain decreased and overall well-being increased. Not to mention, better circulation. However I am forgetful so the latest thing I take is borax. This is actually covered in depth at http://educateyourself.org/cn/boraxconspiracy03jul12.shtml. In my case, I was looking for help with my out-of-control restless legs syndrome, which, on the first day, diminished almost to nothing (now my Requip prescription of. 25 mg is more than sufficient, where before even 1mg spaced throughout the day barely controlled it. ). Now I take the borax right before sleep, and I sleep deeply and w/o interruption for 8plus hrs. And I wake up feeling crisp! Also my asthma, which had me audibly wheezing prior to the borax, is slowly disappearing. It's also a fabulous detoxer, and is anti-microbial and perhaps also alkalining too. At first I took the Borax in the morning, but after 3 weeks, it started to make me very sleepy so I switched to bedtime. It's very fast-acting--one minute I'm lying in bed wide awake, wondering when it's going to start knocking me out, and the next minute, I'm so deeply asleep I haven't even noticed I was getting sleepy, it's so immediate a response. My friends who are also taking borax find that they have more energy. I MAY be feeling more energetic, but the stuff still knocks me out, so experiment on a laid-back, no-driving-etc-day to see how it affects you. The other reason I was taking borax is that it balances the whole body's hormone, endocrine, and glandular system over time. I've been taking it now for at least 3 months. I've increased my dose to a tablespoon (from a teaspoon). Just last week it seemed to me that my post-menopausal dryness was no longer an issue. I intend to continue taking this forever. Oh yes, another borax good result: my neighbor, 70 yrs old, fell off a horse and broke 2 ribs. Since he won't go to doctors, I gave him some borax. He says his ribs healed fast, and with much less pain than the other times they have broken. Dosing excerpts from midway through the link at beginning of this post: Firstly, dissolve a lightly rounded teaspoonful (5-6 grams) of borax in 1 litre of good quality water* free of chlorine and fluoride. This is your concentrated solution. Keep the bottle out of reach of small children. (* I''m using distilled water) Standard dose = 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of concentrate. This has 25 to 30 mg of borax and provides about 3 mg of boron. Take 1 dose per day mixed with drink or food. If that feels right then take a second dose with another meal. If there is no specific health problem or as a maintenance dose you may continue indefinitely with 1 or 2 doses daily. " (elsewhere in my reading people taking the borax-in-water cure seem to take it for 5 days, stop for 2, then start again for 5 days, off for 2 days, and so on. ) "If you do have a problem, such as arthritis, osteoporosis and related conditions, menopause, stiffness due to advancing years, and also to improve low sex hormone production, increase intake to 3 or more spaced-out standard doses for several months or longer until you feel that your problem has sufficiently improved. Then drop back to 1 or 2 doses per day. " http://g2cforum.org/index.php/list/other-alternatives/20552-the-borax-conspiracy-how-a-mineral-vital-to-health-was-suppressed http://g2cforum.org/index.php/list/other-alternatives/2910-big-island-dairy-farmers-fight-radiation-with-boron BTW... Trazodone HCL does work for my insomnia. At first I had to double-dose but now I can take 1/4 pill and that will also knock me out.... But why bother when borax is much safer and helps with so many cures. ............... Last I would like to thank Joy and Everyone about mentioning the water cure. I think adding the right salt will help w my frequent urination, thirst, and allergies. Had forgotten that histamine is a dehydration response. Beginning to wonder if I was developing diabetes. Would diabetes show up in a hair sample? Many Blessings! EC: This wonderful feedback on borax was originally posted in our insomnia section here: http://www.earthclinic.com/cures/insomnia.html

I have yet to find any discussion on how long of a period of time it is safe to take 1/4 teaspoon of Borax per liter of water. I have been doing 4 days on and 3 days off to help raise my PH while taking many other natural remedies to kill my H. Pylori. I like the idea of raising my PH that I would like to know a recommended maintenence plan for the rest of my life using Borax. For example is it safe to have a little every day or continue to do 4 days on and 3 days off? Also, is it too hard on the body to do the sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate while using the Borax for the rest of my life? Reply

Hey Chris, Regarding dosages. Borax is pretty safe at low dosages. Its toxicity is lower than table salt. You'd have to be taking a lot before things would dtart to go wrong for you health-wise. As a guide: if you dissolve a level teaspoon (5ml) of borax in a litre of water and then consume 5ml of that per day then you are taking in somewhere in the region of 7mg of borax per day. That's okay for a maintenance dose. Your 1/4 teaspoon is low but perfectly fine too. My best advice is to start low and then really learn to listen to your body. Listen to how it feels. Pick up the dosage a little and then see. Trust yourself and your body. You'll do fine. Good health to you! Badabing Reply

Hi Ted, and anyone else out there, thanks again for sharing all your wonderful experiences and knowledge! I wanted to know if borax at the 1/8 teaspoon in 1 lt of water taken 3 to 4 days a week over three weeks is too much for an elderly person? My mum is 87 yrs suffering from chronic arthritis and pneumonia, last year we thought we would lose her at the hands of the hospital due to the excessive amounts of drugs. I would like to try it with her before winter returns. The reason I ask is I know it's highly alkaline and Dr Sircus mentions in his book for Bicarb therapies not to take more than 3 x 1/2 teaspoon bicarb per day if over 60. ( I assumed it was due to the alkalinity) and wondered if it's the same with Borax. Many thanks. Reply

Hi Maria, I personally would be careful with that amount of borax for someone your mother's age. If she starts to detox from heavy metals too rapidly, it might cause her to weaken considerably. How about considering the homeopathic dosage of borax instead of the powder? Reply

Maria, I don't think I would be giving my 87 year old mother borax. I would keep to foods. Apple Cider vinegar (1-2 tablespoons in a big glass of water) and lemon juice every morning in warm water are both good for arthritis. They both dissolve the calcium deposits around the arthritic joints. If you have ever had a kettle that calcified and cleaned it with vinegar you can see how it dissolves calcified things. I don't know whether borax is organic or inorganic. If it is inorganic the body cannot utilise it. Apple cider vinegar and lemon juice are organic and have many health benefits apart from being good for arthritis. Reply

Sandra said "If it is inorganic the body cannot utilise it." I'm sorry Sandra but that is incorrect. The word "organic" is oft misunderstood and misused. In this context it basically refers to mollecules containing carbon. So table salt (NaCl), for example, is inorganic. You wouldn't wish to have me believe that the body cannot utilise salt, would you? Our bodies would die without a whole host of micronutirents which are all inorganic. The other definition of "organic" is a descriptor of farming practices (not using artificial pesticides and fertilizers). Though this too is a vastly misuderstood topic it does not apply here. In brief then: borax is an inorganic compound of sodium, boron and oxygen. When it is ingested the body uses particularly the boron as a vital micronutient as we get enough sodium from other sources. Maria said "I wanted to know if borax at the 1/8 teaspoon in 1 lt of water taken 3 to 4 days a week over three weeks is too much for an elderly person?" Maria, I think that sounds fine. You'll be starting your mum on a very low dose so you can see how she goes. At such a low dosage you are extremely unlikely to get adverse symptoms (as might happen from a too fast heavy-metal chelation or a too fast die-off of candida or other pathogens). Then, as her body acclimatizes you can slowly up the dose. You can comfortably take it up to as much as 1 teaspoon per litre - just don't give her more than a teaspoon of the mixture per day. See how this goes. You can keep her at that level for years with no problems but you can also drop it back down to a lower maintenance dose later. ___________________________________ Dude said "only 30 miligrams per day. Way less than 1/4 or 1/8 teaspoon." Dude, the recommended dosage is perhaps a 1 teaspoon of borax in a litre of water of which only 1 teaspoon is taken per day. This will deliver about 7mg effective dosage per day which is good for healing most boron-deficiency diseases. Once health is regained then one can go down to about 1/4 teaspoon for a maintenance dose. Reply

I learned about medicinal borax from a friend last week who spoke at a gut health class we've been doing. She said to make a solution of 1 tsp borax in 1 liter warm water. Then to take 1 tsp several times a day. I've been adding it to my drinking water along with diatemaceous earth, raw apple cider vinegar and sole (salt water made with salt rock). Haven't exceeded twice a day yet as I wanted to see how my body reacted. I've already been detoxing from other things. So far so good. Would love to learn more about this. Reply

Thanks for that comment - I was about to respond with the same but you did so very well. There is quite a bit of misunderstanding out there in regards to nutrition - not everyone takes chemistry in college. As a microbiologist I try to offer some information in regards to yeast infection and normalizing gut flora. Much is lost to people of the order generation that did not have the advantage of education our kids have today - basic biology and chemistry principles are now taught at junior high levels. Hopefully they'll have a solid grasp of these kind of things an will be capable of choosing alternative healing practices with understanding and confidence. Reply

As to dosages, please check previous postings on borax toxicity I been through that so many times. If you are still not convinced, then don't do it. As to the link you submitted, borax according to them is toxic at 0.6 mg/ml -- that is equivalent in drinking terms 600 grams per liter. That is hardly the dose I am considering. The dosage I use is 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon (women requires low dose 1/8 then men 1/4 because of their size) per liter of water. That means it is added in all liters you drink and you determine if that remedy is helping you, and it doesn't require a long time, you should know within 3 to 7 days at the most. It is an essential mineral and the dose is much less than LD50. I calculate my dose assuming you weigh only one kilogram and need just 1/2 of that is my calculations for maximum dose and it is lower still if the person has any side effects on that amount. Therefore, the dose of 1/8 for women's dose is based on that. As to details of ankylosing spondylitis, I don't have many patients here, probably I seen one or two. What I can conclude with certainty is it helps. The autoimmune disease for all mycoplasma and mycobacterium is really simple, the mycobacterium enters healthy cells and infects the inner cells, that's why is is so difficult to kill it and that is why they referred to as attacking healthy cells, but they are not healthy. Suppressing immune system would hardly be the way to go. However there are a couple of avenues I found where we can kill them from the inside. Remember that nearly all antibiotics are useless with attacking the inside the cells they do not enter the insides of cells. There is one or two antibiotics that does get inside the cells - one is doxycycline the second one is minocycline. For the desperate I guess they will even try the second one. The doxycycline use is a lot better, which is one capsule and twice a day for the first time, and thereby once a day it takes about a week to know some effect but the people here it takes them only a day. Minocycline is a generally not recommended because of side effects, but those who do not respond will try it anyway. It causes nausea. As to the borax, you can mix with hydrogen peroxide 3% one capful per 1 liter of water and 1/8 teaspoon. It hardly has any side effects, unless you have other issues, such as metal poisoning, in that case we treat metal poisoning first such as mercury poisoning amalgam or lead poisoning, in which case I prefer to use disodium EDTA or my favorite tetra Sodium EDTA, as it is less acidic. Without the metal poisoning it will be a bit easier by skipping this step and add take borax with hydrogen peroxide. In order to allow the body some breathing room between oxidation and anti-oxidation, you can try hydrogen peroxide for 5 days and no hydrogen peroxide for 2 days, and borax for all days. The other way I have developed of killing the infection from the inside the cells is DMSO and Lugol's with aloe vera oil applied from the outside. That works too. There is also another method I have tried which is Castor oil with DMSO, that works too. And then if he doesn't respond to that one, this respond positively no matter what is the DMSO with tannic acid, where tannic acid is given at 1/8 teaspoon per 100 cc of DMSO and mixed with 30% to 50% water. As to the castor oil and DMSO is mixed with 50% each. As to the Lugol's and DMSO it's just applying Lugol's the area and then apply DMSO, then to relieve the inflammation I apply the aloe vera oil. That's just the initial success then to help you way to recovery I probably require aloe vera oil drops between 5 to 10 drops, magnesium chloride solution 8 drops three times a day, and some 5000 i.u. of vitamin D2 or vitamin D3. There is one thing you have to be aware of, normal antibiotics takes 9 months that's just for doxycycline. so I expected any natural remedies would take that long too, because mycobacterium that lines the inside the cells takes time, but if you do things right it may require less time. In Bangkok things are a little strange. I chase clients because I think I have a cure, but people from Earthclinic at least, they are chasing me! There's probably an explanation in order as to why this occurs. It seems as if people here have the cure or at least something that will help them for their condition and therefore I am just drowned by other competitors! Since competition usually wins out (hospitals and other alternative healers) I spend my day typing out remedies if I have a free time. Ted P.S. The website mentioned in your post is administering a toxic dose even at 0.1 mg per milliliter works out to 100 mg per 100 milliliter works out to 1000 grams per 1000 milliliter. My dose is 1/8 teas per 1000 milliter or 1 liter. Reply

An amount much smaller than you converted it to. In addition, Ted further mentions: " P.S. The website mentioned in your post is administering a toxic dose even at 0. 1 mg per milliliter works out to 100 mg per 100 milliliter works out to 1000 grams per 1000 milliliter. If you're going to be giving dosages and toxicity information you should really get your conversions correct! Your two errors are off by a factor of 1000! According to THE PDR[Physicians Desk Reference] for Nutritional Supplements, "consuming greater than 180 mg elemental boron daily showed symptoms of poor appetite and digestive problems. Symptoms of acute toxicity typically include nausea, diarrhea and abdominal cramps. The symptoms of chronic toxicity include nausea, poor appetite and weight loss.... Optimal intake may be 2 to 3 mg[no Dietary reference intake has yet been established for boron]" How much elemental boron does your suggested dosage contain? Borax is approximately 11% boron, which means that even a small dose of 100mg of borax is supplying 11mg of boron, which is about 5 times the optimal suggested intake according to the PDR. Too much boron daily will accumulate over time. How about the way borax reacts when it hits stomach acid (HCl)? Were you aware that the reaction creates boric acid? Na2 B4 O 7 10H 2 O 2 HCl %u2192 4 B(OH)3 [or H 3 BO 3 ] 2 NaCl 5 H 2 O Could explain the symptoms of acute toxicity. If borax is so "safe", why has it been banned in the US as a food additive. Indonesia has connected the use of borax in the food industry to liver cancer with prolonged usage/digestion (5-10 years). Promoting this "remedy" for metal detoxing is foolish and irresponsible, especially when there are so many safer and more effective alternatives. How about Cilantro/Parsley Pesto for metal detox, or Golden Seal for fluoride detox? These food based remedies are much less speculative and risky for your visitors. Not saying boron is unimportant for bone health, just that borax should be saved for external and household uses, especially since there's no way to monitor one's accumulation of boron/borax/boric acid except by paying attention to symptoms.... which could easily be mistaken for the flu, rather than chronic boron toxicity from long term use. A quick Google check reveals that a teaspoon is equivalent to 5 ml. At 1/4 tsp a day for men, that means an ingestion of only 1. 25 ml per day. For women the recommended usage is half that amount. This is in the order of 1% of the theoretical toxic dose - hardly threatening. Colleen, if you are fact checking, then you should check all relevant facts. Reply

I have spent so much time trying to make sense of the precise dosages for Borax. It is very clearly reccommended that it is 1/8 teaspoon for women and 1/4 teaspoon for men (in a litre of water sipped throughout the day). Can someone give a precise weight in milligrams for 1/4 teaspoon and 1/8 teaspoon as the information on this site suggests 250mg to 1000mg for 1/4 teaspoon. Perhaps we have varying teaspoons but I also suspect that some people are deliberately providing contradictory/confusing information as they represent big pharma interests. I think it is worth highlighting that the dosages mentioned by that study I. E. 0.1mg/ml - 0.6mg/ml refers to concentrations of borax in BLOOD not WATER. Given that borax is very poorly absorbed and we have approx 4200ml of blood in our bodies, it would need huge quantities of borax ingested to approach anywhere near the concentrations suggested by that experiment. For Taquir, I measured 1/8 teaspoon and 1/4 teaspoon amounts of 20 Mule Team Borax from the local grocery on a Precision Professional Digital Mini Scale ____ (This scale cost me about $30. retail in Florida, USA). Since lumps in the Borax are compacted and Borax is a comparatively heavy substance, I mashed the lumps in the Borax powder loose before measuring (Clearly from the following measurements I must have missed a few tinies though). Since this Borax has about the same toxicity as table salt, I am sure the minute difference is negligible in effect. My procedure was: Wack the lumps, fill the scoop, level off the scoop, then pour contents of the scoop into tare container and measure weight. The tare container was cleared of debris before each measurement. Here are my measurement results: 1/4 teaspoon 20 Mule Team weighs .73 grams, or 730 milligrams 1/8 teaspoon 20 Mule Team weighs.34 grams, or 340 milligrams So Bangkok Ted recommends 1/4 teaspoon Borax per litre of water for men, and 1/8 teaspoon Borax per litre of water for women. Dr. Rex Newnham who first investigated the relation between Boron and Arthritus was using 60 mg Borax per day in his studies. The Royal australian Hospital in Melbourne was also using 60 mg Borax per day in their 1980's studies which showed a 70% success rate for a group of people aged 55-74. From Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boron ..."Elemental boron, boron oxide, boric acid, borates, and many organoboron compounds are non-toxic to humans and animals (approximately similar to table salt). The LD50 (dose at which there is 50% mortality) for animals is about 6 g per kg of body weight. Substances with LD50 above 2 g are considered non-toxic. The minimum lethal dose for humans has not been established. An intake of 4 g/day of boric acid was reported without incidents, but more than this is considered toxic for more than a few doses. Intakes of more than 0. 5 grams per day for 50 days cause minor digestive and other problems suggestive of toxicity. [120]Nielsen, Forrest H. (1997). Plant and Soil 193" So I would suggest that it is not neccessary to use ten times what the above researchers were using. Instead, results should be seen using only 1/16 teaspoon and it will be considerably safer. Reply

Hi Sharon, Big pharma make billions in profit from keeping us all ill so they can supply us with their chemical medications and vaccinations. They are so powerful that any threat to profit margins due to people or products trying to offer cures will be bumped off and removed. Healthy humans means no neeed for big pharmas meds leading to no massive profits. The queen is the head of the pharma corps so that gives an idea who we are up against. Its only in recent years that the EU classified borax as toxic, but they left out that toxicity only applied to unborn babies!

& so is bleach toxic deadly to unborns aswel as humans and animals full stop!! A man in 1960's tried to find bigger outlets to help him supply borax as a arthritic cure when the demand for his discovery supplying masses of local people with the borax dosages in med form became bigger than he could handle, so unwittingly approaced people he thought would help ease his medicine demands by mass production and manufacturing. These people were the wrong help as they had vested interest in profits selling synthetic meds to a never ending supply of patients they kept ill, so they shut him up and took away his discovery. Here is the story... The Arthritis Cure of Rex Newnham In the 1960's Rex Newnham, Ph.D., D.O., N.D, developed arthritis. At that time he was a soil and plant scientist in Perth, Western Australia. Conventional drugs did not help, so he looked for the cause into the chemistry of plants. He realized that plants in that area were rather mineral deficient. Knowing that boron aids calcium metabolism in plants he decided to try it. He started taking 30 mg of borax a day, and in three weeks all pain, swelling and stiffness had disappeared. He told public health and medical school authorities about his discovery but they were not interested. However, some people with arthritis were delighted as they improved. Others were scared to take something with a poison label on the container and meant to kill cockroaches and ants. Eventually he had tablets made with a safe and effective quantity of borax. Within five years and only by word of mouth he sold 10,000 bottles a month. He could no longer cope and asked a drug company to market it. That was a major mistake. They indicated that this would replace more expensive drugs and reduce their profits. It so happened that they had representatives on government health committees and arranged that in 1981 Australia instituted a regulation that declared boron and its compounds to be poisons in any concentration. He was fined $1000 for selling a poison, and this successfully stopped his arthritis cure from spreading in Australia. (2)Subsequently he published several scientific papers on borax and arthritis. One was a double-blind trial in the mid 1980's at the Royal Melbourne Hospital which showed that 70% of those who completed the trial were greatly improved. Only 12% improved when on placebo. There were no negative side-effects, but some reported that their heart ailment had also improved, and there was better general health and less tiredness. (3) Most of his later research was devoted to the relationship between soil boron levels and arthritis. He found, for instance that the traditional sugarcane islands, due to long-term heavy use of fertilizers, have very low soil-boron levels. Jamaica has the lowest level and arthritis rates are about 70%. He noted that even most dogs were limping. Next comes Mauritius with very low boron levels and 50% arthritis. The daily boron intake in these countries is less than 1 mg/day. An interesting comparison is between Indian and native Fijians. The Indians are estimated to have an arthritis rate of about 40% and eat much rice grown with fertilizer while the native Fijians with an estimated arthritis rate of 10% eat mainly starchy root vegetables grown privately without fertilizer.
