Reporting to the Director, the Utility Asset Manager is responsible for the development of a comprehensive asset management program for KC Water’s Water, Wastewater, and Stormwater utilities. Working closely with KC Water Utility Officers and Managers, the Asset Manager will lead the efforts to evaluate existing asset management systems and tools and identify additional efforts to ensure critical infrastructure is maintained with the least cost of ownership to the Department while meeting ever increasing customer expectations. The Asset Manager will lead efforts to analyze present asset life cycle costs and provide recommendations regarding total cost of ownership for critical system assets. And, provide assistance to Utility Managers in selecting/upgrading GIS and CMMS software and recommending annual budget for Asset Management efforts. The Asset Manager will also develop performance goals, measure progress, and develop reports to track progress in asset management. The Asset Manager will also facilitate the development and updating of five year capital improvement programs for the Water, Wastewater, and Stormwater Utilities. Requirements: REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor’s degree with major course work in business or public administration, engineering or other appropriate disciplines and a minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible experience in asset and maintenance management of utility infrastructures or closely related industrial or manufacturing facilities, 10 years supervisory level experience required with responsibility for organizing and managing multiple maintenance and/or management projects and teams. The ability to write concise and informative reports, analyze data; using Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) is required OR an equivalent combination of education and experience, with at least 10 years administrative and supervisory experience in a progressively responsible nature. Must have a valid MO driver’s license in accordance with the City of KCMO. Preference given to applicants who have the following certifications: Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT) or Certified Reliability Leader (CRL) and any MO Water or Wastewater Operator’s certification. Proficient in the use of CMMS, ArcGIS and Utility EAM software applications as well as knowledge of LOS/ISO 14001 and Asset Management/ ISO 55,000.
