Casting Process Engineer Department: Foundry (Aluminum) Shift: 1st (8:00 am to 5:00 pm, may be subject to change) Pay Range: $60,000 - $80,000, depending on experience Classification: Salary (Exempt) Position Type: Direct Hire (Permanent) Supervisory Responsibilities: None Summary: The function of the Casting Process Engineer is to assist the Director of Engineering, in all aspects of designing of experiment (DOE), controlling, monitoring, measuring, and resolving of all foundry casting production and problems. Major Duties:
Continuous training of production workers in process to ensure safe, efficient operation, proper shot monitoring, understanding of the process, and the relationship to quality and cost Participate in training and projects to create and maintain continuous improvements in products, processes, and quality to help maintain and reduce waste and cost Establish procedures, guidelines, and instructions for foundry setup Participate in setup reduction programs Troubleshoot and analyze jobs to reduce scrap and improve up time in all manufacturing departments Provide technical support for engineering on process related items Strive to utilize state-of-the-art technology for equipment processes to keep Empire competitive Assist Industrial Engineers in work cell development Productivity / methods improvements Participate in Kaizen events and six sigma projects Assist tooling engineer with flow simulation parameters
Skills & Qualifications:
Must have a 4 year degree in an engineering field, 5-10 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant industry/product experience Must have die casting experience Knowledge and experience in Process Control for Die Casting and machining and manufacturing Must be able to work in varying temperatures Must be able to work in a fast paced environment Must be able to work flexible schedules including overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays, as necessary
