This morning is a bit cloudy here that for sure makes me a bit lazy to work (ups!). Yesterday I got one day off (Easter!) and really I want more, hehe. Starting first day in April and I have to have proper breakfast (Thanks God for bananas, loaf bread with cheese and condensed milk, lemon tea as usual, and u yeah orange and grapefruit. Nom nom!) before rrrgh hectic week. Like what Karl Lagerferd ever said ‘The first thing I do when I get up, I have breakfast’.

Veggie Soup, Easy & Tasty! MARCH 28, 2013 By Azis Abdul in FOOD LODGE, RECIPES Tags: SIMPLE SOUP RECIPE, V EGGIE SOUP LEAVE A COMMENT Saya pernah menulis di blog ini tentang kerinduan akan makanan favorit saya hasil racikan Ibu, Sup Sayur yang nikmatnya tiada tara jika sudah menemukan sandingannya, tempe dan perkedel kentang. Kenapa saya menyukai Sup Sayur? Alasannya simple. Rasanya enak, mudah dibuat dan yang penting, bahannya beraneka sayuran. Sudah beberapa kali saya mencoba memasak Sup ala Ibu meski rasanya jelas berbeda karena bumbunya pun berbeda. Sup ala Ibu saya rasanya tasty sekali, tanda ia tak pernah pelit bumbu untuk setiap masakannya. Nah, berbeda dengan saya. Bukannya saya malas, cuman saya belum semahir Ibu. Artinya apa yang saya masak, ya harus disesuaikan dengan apa yang saya bisa dan apa yang saya punya di dapur. Saya baru bisa memasak Sup Sayur sejak tinggal disini, itupun belajar dari flatmate saya yang memang jago masak. Yah maklum, dulu ia punya restoran kecil di Bali, sekitar delapan tahun yang lalu. Dari flatmate saya itu, sedikit banyak saya lebih mahir mengolah bumbu-bumbuan. Asiknya memasak lauk, sayuran, sup, tumisan atau apa sajalah yang berhubungan dengan bumbu-bumbuan itu kita bisa melibatkan feeling. Bukan tanpa takaran bahan makanan dan bumbu-bumbuannya, memasak lauk itu eksplorasinya lebih bebas. Kesalahan kecil yang bisa saja terjadi di dapur bisa diselesaikan dengan mudah. Misal, kalau keasinan, tinggal dinetralisir dengan air atau gula, kemanisan, ya tinggal sebaliknya. Ini berbanding terbalik jika memasak kuekuean yang membutuhkan takaran serba tepat, kalau tidak, ya akan gagal. Nah dengan ritme kerja saya yang kadang tidak masuk akal, sedikit banyak mempengaruhi pola makan saya. Sayur dan buah sering terlewatkan. Jadi saat ada kesempatan memasak di rumah, Sup Sayur itu salah satu andalan. Seperti yang saya sebut dari awal, memasaknya mudah, rasanya enak dan nutrisinya juga terpenuhi.

(https://goofydreamer.files.wordpress.com/2013/03/fv-11.jpg) Bahan : – 1/2 kg daging ayam tanpa tulang, potong dadu. – 1/4 kg wortel, iris sesuai selera. – 1/4 kg kentang, potong dadu. – 1 batang bawang prei, 1 1/2 juga boleh. – 3 buah tomat, potong dadu. – 150 cl Air – Bumbu : 1 siung bawang merah ukuran besar (Kalau bawang merahnya kecil, secukupnya saja, kira-kira 10 hingga 12 siung), 1 siung bawang bombay, 8 siung bawang putih, Seledri secukupnya untuk kaldu, 2 sdm penuh mentega, 3 sdm minyak sayur, 1 sdt garam, 1 sdt merica, 1/2 sdt gula pasir, 1/2 pala bubuk, optional : kaldu blok (1 biji saja, jangan kebanyakan). – Additional Veggies : Kubis, kembang kol, jagung manis kalengan (secukupnya). – Garnish : ‘Dill (http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=dill&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8)‘, daun bawang atau bawang goreng. Cara memasaknya : – Didihkan air, rebus ayam yang telah dipotong dadu. Dari sini anda akan mendapatkan kaldu. Tambahkan potongan Seledri dan kaldu blok kedalamnya. Biarkan mendidih. – Masukkan potongan wortel ke dalam didihan kaldu ayam. Ini tergantung wortel yang anda iris, jika wortel agak tebal ada baiknya dimasukkan terlebih dahulu agar mereka segera matang. Jika tipis nanti saja. – Siapkan bawang-bawangan yang sudah diiris tipis, panaskan minyak sayur, tumis bawang-bawangan tadi hingga harum. Jaga api agar bawang-bawangnya tidak gosong. – Setelah bawang harum, tambahkan mentega hingga meleleh sempurna. Tambahkan merica, garam, dan gula. Setelah tumisan bumbu harum, pindahkan ke dalam rebusan kaldu ayam bersamaan dengan irisan bawang prei. – Kemudian, masukkan sayur-sayuran yang lain. Setelah wortel tadi masuk dahulu, kemudian kentang, kira-kira setelah 10 menit mulai masukkan kubis, kembang kol, jagung manis, atau sayur lainnya. Urutannya mudah, mulai dari sayuran yang teksturnya keras agar mereka matang duluan. Sayuran yang mudah layu, biarkan mereka berada diurutan terakhir. Masak sayuran-sayuran ini hingga matang. -Matikan api, masukkan potongan tomat segar. Tipsnya, sayuran seperti wortel dan kentang jangan sampai over-cooked agar saat anda menyantapnya mereka masih crunchy, Okay sekarang tinggal disajikan. – Garnish dengan bawang goreng atau irisan daun bawang. Jika anda punya ‘Dill’ Sup anda akan semakin indah dipandang, hehehe. PS : Anda bisa menyantapnya dengan nasi atau macaroni seperti yang saya santap diatas. Jika anda ingin rasa yang lebih segar dan tasty, bisa anda tambahkan saus tomat sesaat setelah anda memasukkan tumisan bumbu ke dalam rebusan kaldu ayam. Tambahkan pula tomat segar yang dicincang kedalamnya, jangan dipotong dadu. Sup Sayurnya nanti agak mirip dengan Sup Merah, rasanya sama-sama enaknya kok. Side-dish telur dadar bukan pilihan buruk jika anda memiliki telur, olah saja dengan irisan bawang prei, irisan cabe rawit dan bumbui dengan sedikit lada dan garam. Beres, tinggal menyantapnya. I tweaked before I enjoyed them. One for cheesy and another was sweety. I cutted one almond croissant and spread mayonnaise, added slices of tomato, cheddar cheese, and home made spicy minced beef. The sweet one just added peanut butter, nutella and cheese on top. Which one do you prefer?

Quick Dinner. MARCH 23, 2013 By Azis Abdul in FOOD LODGE Tags: EASY COOKING, SPAGHETTI BOLOGNESE LEAVE A COMMENT Hari ini kebetulan kami tidak memiliki pekerjaan akhir minggu, artinya kami bisa pulang tepat waktu. Sesampainya di rumah, saya dan flatmate saya, Andhi (https://twitter.com/andhiquarzia), berbincang a b c d randomly di kamar saya sembari bermalas-malasan, sungguh membuang waktu. Saya mengeluh kelaparan karena memang dari pagi hanya makan sekali. Tadinya saya pikir makan malam hari ini biasa saja hingga flatmate saya bersedia memasak. Kami kehabisan beras meski untungnya masih ada beberapa bahan mentah yang bisa diolah. Sepulang dari kantor kami melihat tukang sayur keliling yang berhenti di tempat mereka biasa menggelar dagangannya, saya mengambil beberapa buah tomat, daun bawang, kentang, kubis, dan bawang prei. Ide saya untuk memasak pasta yang sudah mendekam cukup lama di rak penyimpanan bukan pilihan buruk (selain tak punya beras, sedang bosan pula *hiks). Apalagi kami memiliki tomat segar yang baru dibeli, daging sapi, oregano dan keju! Meskipun bukan keju parmesan, tapi cukuplah menu makan malam kali ini memuaskan lidah kami. Alhamdulillah, Spaghetti Bolognese, it was so creamy. Thanks mate!

Kalau tak salah saya mengambilnya saat kami selesai memasak spaghetti sekitar pukul setengah sembilan malam dan cahaya lampu di flat kami memang kuning, tak ada satu pun lampu berwarna putih. Parahnya saya tak mencantumkan resep dengn takaran lengkapnya, lain kali saja lah akan saya posting lebih ‘niat’. Satu lagi, saya tak memiliki niat sama sekali memotret foto-foto di postingan ini sebelumnya. Tapi setelah dipikir sayang saja jika tidak diabadikan, ya sudahlah, saya memohon agar flatmate saya mau pindah makan di sofa. Kenapa? karena saya perlu menaiki meja dan memotret spaghetti seperti yang anda lihat di atas. Ya, saya selalu menaiki meja untuk biasa mendapatkan gambar yang saya inginkan, benar-benar tidak sopan ya hehehe.

How was your Monday? Did you pass it with some enjoyment!? There’s two things that make me glad today. First, I got a warm hug from my sweet boss Madam Uche this morning (She’s back yeah!). She comes back to work after spent 3 weeks in London – Italy – Dubai (envy! hiks) for short vacay. Second, I have time to write this post (*jump around). I’m glad I could come home on time today and yes you’re right, I will spend time for this one. I’ll spread sweet enjoyment foya all! Like what I mentioned from previous post that I’ve been enjoying my Sunday as long as I could, so these are the sweetness I’m talking about. I tried my first sweet, Dark Chocolate ice cream from Cold Stone Creamy (http://www.coldstonecreamery.com/). An American based brand that just opened here makes me curious not only the look of their various ice cream. My curiosity is on the taste and the way they present their ice cream as well. As a chocolate lover I chose one scoop of dark chocolate served with coated crispy waffle, sprinkled with almond and choco chips (that was extra choice, extra price also *glek). They have different ingredients that stick on coated chocolate. Don’t know why I chose roasted coconut rather than mashed cashews (that coconut was too sweet for me, yikes). I enjoyed the almonds and choco chips for sure (was it just my reason that almond is healthier than other choices huh?). Overall my first sweet was nice with some notes, I should take tooth brush to clean up my teeth after enjoyed that frozen chips (they were sticked well ouch), and took a cup of spring water to refresh from the sweetness. My second sweet was a funky coffee with raspberry syrup from Chocolate Royal, the cake and coffee shop that I always buy my fav pastry ever, croissant. I love the way they created syrup, milk, coffee and marshmallow foam cream into some layers beautifully. The best thing from the fusion of that coffee and syrup wasn’t too sweet (the sweetness from ice cream before was enough for me hehehe). I didn’t order snack or something while I was busy capturing that coffee (heh, that’s me, I would ignore my foods until I got perfect pics, that’s bad rite? hehe). Nope, me and my flatmates were spent just 45 minutes there that’s why we didn’t eat much. And the last was Macarons! Mini ones, bite size. I got it from Chocolate Royal also and they were nice, not too sweet. I brought them home and enjoyed this morning. You can see from the lighting on my pics easily. If I remember Macaron I always think about Pierre Hermé Paris (http://www.pierreherme.com/) when Macaron was created for the first time. O damn! I will taste them when I reach Paris someday (*wink). Hohoho, That’s it. As I said I will step back a bit from blogging until I’m finish with big project that will be done by first week of April. And probably I will post that project here. Hehe, I will. Alright, time to enjoy these sweetness!

Even I couldn’t believe that tomorrow is Monday (again!!) and gonna be my hectic days ahead. Hey friends in Indonesia! By the time you read this post is Monday rite? Hehehe, I know that I post a bit late. I tried to enjoy my Sunday as long as I could truly. O yeah, starting from this post I don’t put small watermark anymore like what I did on my previous posts due to make this blog friendlier (Argh I have no better sentence to describe what Im thinking of *sigh). Alright I just can share what my breakfast was. They were super simple fried rice that I cooked with mushroom sauce added sweet corn and carrot (Ah why I didn’t put more colors on it so It would be eye-catching and fresher!), two ‘sunny-side up’ fried eggs one for me and one for my flatmate, some vanilla biscuits, wheat baguette (put skippy on it!), tea, and croissant. Were they too much for breakfast? No no, I couldn’t eat them all in the same time, just ate some fried rice and egg, then two slices of baguette, one biscuit and yeah! croissant after. That croissant was nicer than what I got at cake shop on Victoria Island. Probably this post will be the last for this month because what? I have to work harder and faster for my big project two weeks ahead which is early April. But I’ll try to update this blog when I less busy. Ouch it past 10pm I’m yawning, need more time to sleep so I can wake up fresher for my Monday (hoam…). See ya in April!

Hehe, but I think it’s better than I just lay these pictures on my system. Anyway what did I serve this morning? Vegy chicken soup, Spinach pasta to replace basmati rice, tea, and look I had cinnamon roll and chocolate jelly for the dessert, look nice ya? I love the cinnamon roll has raisins and crispy almond on top, just remind me J.Co donuts, I do love the way I took the pic as well. I have no clue why I have to wake up earlier and serve this full breakfast then capturing em’, It could be the sign of my other ‘passion-passion‘, perhaps (wink).
