You are applying for a single-entry study visa for 90 days. In Moscow, your study visa will be extended and become a multiple-entry visa for the whole period of your studies. When you cross the Russian border you fill in migration card (an important document that you should keep while you are in Russia and then give it back at the pass control when you leave the country). Your visa must be registered within 7 working days upon your arrival. To register your visa, you will need to come to the International Students Office the next day following your arrival as it will take at least 3 days to prepare documents for official registration at the Government Migration Department. If you are going to leave the country, you must hand in your registration card to the Administration of the Dormitory. If you don't register your visa or fail to show a proof that it has been registered, you might face a fine of 30 USD per day with possible deportation and might be denied from entering Russia again (maximum 5 years). Every time you leave Russia and come back (cross the border) you will need to re-register your visa in our Office.
ACCOMODATION: Do you need accommodation in HSE student’s dormitory? Accommodation details: • • • • • • •
The address is Moscow, Studencheskaya st., 33/1. HSE provides a shared room (Twin) with one roommate. You can check in your room just after your arrival to Moscow (please, go directly from the airport to the Dormitory, show your passport at the entrance and you will be given access to your room). You must sign Residential Lease Agreement (Administration, 1st floor). You must get acquainted and signed the Rules of the Dormitory. You should pay for the accommodation (first month) during first 7 days after arrival. Further payments can be paid monthly and must be done before the start of every month. TUTORSHIP AND STUDENTS BUDDIES: Do you need assistance of HSE student buddy? Who is a tutor/buddy:
A buddy is a senior student who will help you once you arrive at HSE. From their own experiences, they will help you find your way around the campus, the city of Moscow, and get used to life in Russia in general. Your buddy will take you on a tour of the city, help you buy some food in the Russian supermarket, accompany you to various events that take place in and around Moscow, etc.
