“The Belhaven Express” The Belhaven Christmas Committee, chaired by Kaye Lee Brady, along with the Senior Club of Belhaven, The Belhaven Arts Council and the Belhaven Community Chamber of Commerce are planning a fun day of activities for the entire community on Saturday, December 10th beginning at noon. The Chamber will be sponsoring kids activities including writing letters to Santa, coloring Christmas cards, visiting Santa in his special house and purchasing gifts for parents and grandparents for $1.00 at a special store. All begin at noon and will run until 3:00. In addition, the Chamber will host the Candlelight Tour of Homes and Churches this year. The Tour will be from 5:30-8:00. Tickets will be available in advance for $25.00 from the Chamber office. The parade, sponsored this year by the Belhaven Christmas Committee, will begin at 3:00. Don’t miss the fun! If you would like to be in the parade, pick up your application at Kaye Lee’s Corner at 413 Pamlico Street or call Kaye Lee at 801-259-7446 to have an application emailed to you. Applications are also available at the Chamber at 274 Main Street.

Yard Sale Success
Events Calendar
Due to soggy ground and a forecast of on and off rain, we opted to hold our first Yard Sale in our spacious Chamber office - and what a great decision that was! The doors opened at 6 a.m. and the crowd was there ready to shop. The seasoned yard sale buyers came in waves and bought and bought. After the sun came up the breakfast crowd hit Gingerbread’s and then came over to do some business with us and share lots of laughs. Thanks to all of the generous donations from our Chamber members and friends in the community. Very special thanks to Patricia and Butch Harris and Lindsay Hubers for pricing and selling. It was a big job they handled like the pros they are. The rookies on the team were Dianne and Kathryn Bowen. We plan on making this a yearly event. When you clean out those closets, or decide to redecorate a room, keep your Chamber in mind.

She gr aduated fr om Nor thside High School in 1992 and graduated from Beaufort County Community College in the LPN program in 2009. Onika is married to Ricky Credle. They have a blended family of five and reside in the town of Belhaven. Onika enjoys watching horror movies, attending her kids sporting events, and spending time with close family and friends. She has a great love for her community and helping those in need. It is her mission to see Belhaven as she once saw it...a place of kindness, love and prosperity. Alan J. Rogers was r aised and lived in nor ther n New Jer sey for most of his life until J une of this year when he joined his wife in Belhaven to help run Between Water & Main Bed & Breakfast on Water Street. Gail and Alan have owned their home on Water Street since 2004 and have been regular visitors to Belhaven since then, supporting community events and local businesses. His professional career began with Foodtown Supermarkets where he worked for 11 years in supervisory and management roles before becoming a buyer for Price Club/Costco. At Costco, his region spanned Connecticut to Virginia. From Costco he moved on to work in sales management and later, marketing, for a wine and spirit distributor (now Breakthru Beverage). He served as Director of Marketing there for the past 11 years and continues to work for them as a consultant. He studied chemistry as well as business management and marketing at Rutgers University and is a WST-Level 3certified wine educator. Having spent the last 15 years living in Hunterdon County, NJ – a county that borders the Delaware River – Alan has seen first-hand what progressive business leaders working in tandem with like-minded municipal governments can do to transform neglected industrial river towns into thriving quaint villages where people work, live and play. He believes Belhaven has the potential to become such a place, and is willing to contribute his business and marketing expertise to help Belhaven become not just a tourist destination, but also an economically sustainable place for people to live, work and retire.
