Chris Jaros, P.E. Senior Project Manager / Brownfield Coordinator Chris Jaros is a senior project manager with over 20 years of environmental consulting experience. Mr. Jaros expertise covers a wide variety of projects ranging from due diligence and petroleum account management, to more complex matters of bringing cohesive involvement from several PRPs on multiple sites with co-mingled contaminant plumes requiring non-traditional implementation of remedial solutions for chlorinated solvents, hazardous materials and petroleum hydrocarbon impacts. He has extensive experience with Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESA), Phase II Site Investigations, soil and groundwater remediation design/implementation, and environmental regulatory compliance, including Clean Water Act (CWA), Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation Liability Act (CERCLA), and Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA) issues. Mr. Jaros has been responsible for the overall management and administration of environmental projects ranging from $1,000 to over $5,000,000. These projects include due diligence services, Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) Plan, underground storage tank (UST) removal and remediation, subsurface investigation/remediation, brownfield redevelopment consulting for public and private entities, wellfield protection, litigation support and expert witness reports, and associated regulatory report preparations both in Indiana and Illinois. Mr. Jaros has remediation experience consisting of various source removal, pump and treat systems, ozone enhanced air sparging combined with soil vapor extraction, chemical and biological injection techniques utilizing oxygen and hydrogen releasing compounds as groundwater remediation technologies. Several projects have had residential protective measures established such as indoor air monitoring/mitigation, and activated carbon water purification systems where groundwater was above MCLs. Mr. Jaros took park in the industry development of IDEM’s Remediation Closure Guide, is knowledgeable regarding the applications of appropriate risk-based cleanup levels and has consulted several municipalities in Indiana on various land development risk evaluation considerations, wellfield protection assessments, and has managed groundwater protection reviews of developments within wellfield protection areas on behalf of the City of Indianapolis. Mr. Jaros also directs negotiations with State and Federal regulatory agencies, provides litigation support in matters concerning environmental issues and acts as a third-party reviewer of work performed by others. Mr. Jaros has reduced client liabilities and costs via specialized risk communications on projects requiring cooperation with off-site owners and residents, and has participated in community forums for the purposes of public awareness of environmental risks. He is currently a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Indiana. Email:
