The City Clerk acts as a compliance officer for federal, state, and local statutes including the Political Reform Act, the Brown Act, and the Public Records Act. The City Clerk's office is committed to quality customer service, innovation, easy access to public records, comprehensive use of resources, and records management by: Providing prompt, professional and courteous customer service; Ensuring the legislative process, including City elections, City Council and Commission meetings are open and public; Reporting and preserving the legislative history of the City efficiently and accurately; Providing access to complete and accurate public information and official records; and Promoting voter registration and participation through non-partisan public outreach.

Elections General municipal elections are held in the City of Irvine on the first Tuesday following the first Monday in November of even-numbered years. Other municipal elections or special elections may be called from time to time by the City Council. A Special Municipal Election will be held on June 5, 2018. The next General Municipal Election will be held on November 6, 2018. Click here for additional election information.

City Council Agenda The regular City Council agenda is available by 5:00 p.m. on Friday prior to the regularly scheduled meeting. The Irvine City Council meets regularly every second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 4:00 p.m. at Irvine City Hall, City Council Chamber, One Civic Center Plaza, Irvine, unless otherwise noted. Invocations Invocations are offered as part of the regular City Council agenda and typically take place at approximately 5 p.m. following the Pledge of Allegiance. Click here to view the City Council Policy applicable to invocations.

Voter Registration Voter registration forms are available at City Hall and numerous City facilities. First time voters must register to vote. You must re-register if you have moved by completing a new form. You must also be registered at least 15 days prior to the election in which you intend to vote. If you do not live in Orange County, please contact the County Registrar of Voters in the county that you reside. For more information about voter registration, voting by mail, or how to become a poll worker, please access the Orange County Registrar of Voters website at ocvote.com.

Claims Against the City Claims against the City may be made by completing a Claim for Damages form and returning an original signed copy to the City Clerk's office.

Request for Appeal A Request for Appeal is to be used when appealing a decision of the Director of Community Development, the Zoning Administrator or the Planning Commission. A request to appeal a decision of the Director of Community Development and/or the Zoning Administrator shall be appealed to the Planning Commission. An appeal based on a decision of the Planning Commission shall be appealed to the City Council. All appeals shall be filed in accordance with Irvine Zoning Code Section 2-5-1 et al and within 15 calendar days of the date of the decision. DEP ARTMENT INF O
