I just saw a Cobra Amp Cell S driver at sportchek for $100 Canadian (about $75 in freedom dollars). I know cobra is a fairly good brand and $100 is right in my price range for a new driver. I didn't test it out yet, because I wanted to look up some information on it first, but I couldn't find much online. Does anyone know anything about this driver?

Hey fellow Canadian, check out Golf Avenue for new & used clubs. You might find something better for the same price :) I get all my stuff from there and it's normally 2 day shipping to Toronto. EDIT: Formatting/spelling permalink

Yeah, you could get an authentic used Cobra Amp Cell in good shape for less from Golf Avenue: Amp Cell red. Golf Avenue buys all the used clubs Golf Town takes in. And as a Canadian store, they have tons of left-handed clubs, if that is your nature. permalink

I think the Amp Cell S is a lower price point driver from Cobra. It has a glued hosel, as opposed to the regular Amp Cell that's adjustable. And I would imagine it has a cheap shaft as well.

For what it's worth, my wife has one and absolutely crushes it. I never hit one, but it's the only one she hit well when she got started playing and she destroys it now. Long and straight, and her swing is pretty......lets just say "bad". No shoulder turn whatsoever, among other flaws. permalink

I own an amp cell, I do like it alot. It comes with a fujikura shaft which I like, but it's only a 57? Gram shaft so it's a little light for me if im swinging fast that day so ill switch between that and a TM R11s with a 75g x stiff aldilla RIP alpha. But unless you have a super fast swing a stock amp cell should be a great driver for you. I've had a few cobras and loved them all

I believe there's some difference between the normal amp cell and the amp cell s, though I have also heard many good things about cobra drivers...

The amp cell s comes with a uniflex shaft, it's a step down from the regular amp cell. permalink

Cobra makes great drivers, but the Amp Cell S probably isn't one of them.

I own a Bio cell and they're going for ~$150 freedom. Which as I'm typing this I realize is double the price. But its a great driver comes with a project x shaft and has adjustable loft. permalink
