Mr Ajay Shankar joined the Indian Administrative Service, India’s premier career civil service in 1973. He taught Political Science at Allahabad University for two years before joining Government. Currently he is the Member Secretary of National Manufacturing Competitiveness Council. He has rich and varied experience in the Central and State Governments in industrial promotion, the energy sector and urban management and development. He retired as Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion in the Commerce and Industry Ministry, Government of India in December, 2009. He played a critical role in putting together the stimulus packages at the time of the global economic crisis 2008 as a member of Group of Secretaries constituted for this purpose. He took a number of policy decisions to improve the competitiveness of the Indian industrial sector. Under his stewardship, the plan for the Delhi-Mumbai industrial corridor project was developed for implementation. The Foreign Direct Investment policy was further liberalized and became more investor-friendly. Prior to that, he was Principal Adviser in the Planning Commission looking after the water, sanitation and environment and forest sectors as well as provision of rural infrastructure. Mr Shankar has served on the board of major public sector companies such as IDBI, EXIM Bank, NTPC, NHPC, PFC, REC. He has been Chairman of the Damodar Valley Corporation. He has been a member of Committees on reform of public sector undertakings, electricity distribution and resources for the power sector for the 10th Plan. He was closely associated with the design of the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission. After retirement he was a Distinguished Fellow with TERI. He also served on the Board of Tata Global Beverages Ltd. His articles on economic policy issues have been appearing in the national papers. . He holds a Masters degree in Political Science from Allahabad University and a Masters in Economics from Georgetown University, Washington D.C.

Mr Gossain joined JCB India in 2005 as a General Manager – Marketing. In over 23 years of work experience, he has worked with major capital and engineering companies in India for 7 years and then moved to Australia where he worked for 10 years in one of the leading Construction & Agriculture Equipment Manufacturer in the world, with his final assignment as the Head of Marketing and Product Management/Development group for Asia Pacific based out of Sydney, Australia. Mr Gossain is currently the President of Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association (ICEMA). He is also the Chairman of the CII Committee on Solid Waste Management. Under Mr Gossain’s leadership, the committee also instituted the prestigious JCB CII Award of Clean Earth, an award for best projects on Solid Waste Management in the country. Last year there were over 90 entries for this award from across India. He was also the President of IIT Association of Australia. Mr Gossain is an Engineer with Masters in Management & Systems from IIT, Delhi. He has keen interest in playing soccer and badminton. Presently, he resides in Delhi with his wife and two daughters.

Mr Sundaresan has an experience of over three decades in various Indian and MNC’s in senior positions. He began his career as a Trainee in the R&D wing of Larsen & Toubro’s heavy engineering group and thereafter joined the construction equipment division of the erstwhile Greaves Cotton & Company Ltd, where he rose to the option of Deputy General Manager, Marketing. He had a short stint as Sales Director in the multinational company M/s Hoesch Rothe Erde (Thyssen Group-Germany) before joining Schwing Stetter India Pvt Ltd. as Executive Director in June 1998. Mr Sundaresan has been the Managing Director of Schwing Stetter India since January 2002. He is a chartered Mechanical Engineer, coupled with a qualification in Electrical Engineering. Then on he served meritoriously for 33 years as an Army officer. After retirement in 2010, he worked as the Director of an Institute of Management & Research in Pune for 2.5 years, thereby shaping the future of young managers. Thereafter he also worked as the CEO of MIT’s Educational Campus, Pune. He has been a true and brave soldier all his life. The Gallantry award of Sena Medal was awarded to him by the President of India, on 26th January 1999, for killing two militants in the strife infected Jammu and Kashmir. Besides being a true Soldier, he is a rare blend of academic achievements as well. From a plain BSc., he went on to acquire, LLB, MDPM &IR, MSc. from Pune University where he stood second, not satisfied he went on to do his PhD in Human Rights at the age of 50. He has travelled far and wide and gained insight into varied cultures and traditions. A multifaceted personality he strongly believes that there is no age bar to learn in life. Ms Chaturvedi has a career of civil servant as a member of the Indian Audit and Accounts Service since the year 1987. She has held a number of key assignments at the Central and provincial government levels and within the establishment of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India during her 23 years of stint with the Government. Amongst the important positions occupied by her are Accountant General of the state of Uttarakhand, Executive Director, Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA), Director (Budget), Ministry of Finance, Government of India, Professor (Economics) at the National Institute of Financial Management, Government of India and Director of Commercial Audit in the office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India. She has led auditing teams of a number of International Institutions like United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) in Mexico and United Nations International Research and Training Institute for the Advancement of Women (UN-INSTRAW) at Santo Domingo and International Seabed Authority (ISBA), Jamaica. As Director, Budget, she represented the Government of India in OECD’s Senior Budget Officers. She was a member of the Working Group on Implementation of Performance Budgeting in India and was associated with several key fiscal reforms initiated by the Government. She has contributed richly to the emergence of public policy framework in the areas of budgeting, pensions and fiscal responsibility legislation and has contributed a number of research papers to the national and international journals on auditing, budgeting and financial management.
