Profile I am a sociologist with an interdisciplinary background in law. My research and teaching profile is as follows:  Research interests: science policy, knowledge governance, ethnographic research methods, comparative studies.  Teaching interests: social science research methods, political sociology, Southeast Asian studies, sociology of innovation/knowledge, economic sociology.  Research skills: in-depth qualitative work, ethnographic research, regulatory analysis, organising workshop & FGD, descriptive statistical tools, very good team-working skill, ability to work independently.  Experience of fieldwork: Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia.

I taught an undergraduate module in Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Indonesia in 2009. I co-taught Module AA 3307 on Sociology of Muslim Societies in 2013 with Dr. Bianca J. Smith. I taught and designed Module AA 3307 on Sociology of Muslim Societies in 2014, 2015. I co-taught Module AA 4305 on Politics and Law in Comparative Perspective in 2013 with Professor Lian Kwen Fee. I taught and designed Module AA 4305 on Politics and Law in Comparative Perspective in 2014 and 2015. I delivered a lecture on ‘Globalisation and Knowledge based Economy’ for Module AA 2204 Society, Culture and Economy at Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Universiti Brunei Darussalam.

Fieldwork supervision of data collection in Gunungkidul and Bantul, Indonesia for a research funded by the Bantul District Government and the Australian Aid in 2008-2009. I provided capacity building in field notes, data coding, and analysis of field data for junior researchers.

Co-workers: F. McDonald & A. Yoganingrum (PIs), F. Purwaningrum, D. Ariani. Date and period: January 2009- December 2009. The sum of grant received was $61,720 (Australian Dollar). Ministry of National Education, Republic of Indonesia and Korea Research Foundation (KRF) research grant for ICT. The grant was for a joint research between Indonesian Institute of Sciences, Indonesia and APWINC, Sookmyeung Women’s University, Korea. Date and period: January 2009-August 2009. Total amount of funding received in Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) 164,096,00 (Euro 13,674). Field research grant awarded from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The grant was for my doctoral field research in 2010-2011 in Jababeka Industrial Cluster, Cikarang - Indonesia. Total amount received: 5,000 Euro. Seed funding research grant funded by Universiti Brunei Darussalam for a research project on Knowledge Cluster in Brunei Darussalam: Policy and Network Analysis on the ICT Sector. The grant was for fieldwork in Brunei Muara District in 2013-2014. Total amount approved: 5,000 BND.
