DatamedFT™ Data Sheet DatamedFT™ v3 is an exciting new release in a long line of DATAMED® EKG Format Translators. Since 1970, DATAMED® devices have bridged the compatibility gap between equipment from various manufacturers. Functioning like a language interpreter but with file formats, DatamedFT™ converts the EKG data from the format of one manufacturer to the format of another, so that medical facilities can purchase the most appropriate cardiographs, monitors, and EKG management systems from differing manufacturers. DatamedFT™ allows for purchasing flexibility and extended equipment life. The software runs as a service level application and may be installed on the EKG Management System's host server, a monitoring gateway, an enterprise application server, or a standalone computer/virtual machine. The manner of installation, method of connection, and exact configuration largely depend on the vendor and the preference of the customer’s IT staff. DatamedFT™ is an IT application that is user-installed and user-supported with our assistance via email, telephone and/or remote access. Once installed, DatamedFT™ is a completely transparent interface. DatamedFT™ receives EKG data from the source EKG machine, bedside monitor, or other acquisition device as data files in that device's native data format. This file-based application combined with our optional DatamedRcv™ Receiver Modules can receive the EKG Data files over LAN, WAN, serial, or modem connections. Each EKG file contains four types of data: patient demographics, measurements, interpretive statements, and waveforms. As the file is converted from the source format to the target host’s native format, many fields can be manipulated using optional settings and advanced field mapping. The resulting file is then sent to the EKG Management System. Translated EKGs are seen and handled by the host system as if they had originated on their own proprietary devices, and may be stored, recalled, edited, viewed in a multiple EKG series, and printed just as any other EKGs in the host system. Source devices and management/storage systems from over twenty different manufacturers are supported, and new formats are added on an ongoing basis. For customers who have a variety of cardiographs and other acquisition devices, DatamedFT™ can be configured to handle any number of available source formats on a single computer.

Technical System Requirements
Computer. DatamedFT™ is independent of the destination host system and can be installed either on the host system or anywhere with network access to the host system. Some host system vendors prefer that no additional software is installed on the host server, so DatamedFT™ will be installed on a separate adjacent computer. The minimum specifications for this computer are: 2 GB RAM, 40 GB HD, and a LAN connection for file transmission. The following operating systems are supported: Windows Server 2008 x86 and x64, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2012 R2, and Windows Server 2016. The only required software is .NET 4.5. LAN considerations. The DatamedFT™ software only reads and writes files. These files may be either local to the FTPC or on remote computers. If the FTPC is not the same physical computer as the destination host system, DatamedFT™ will be configured to write output files to a shared folder on the host system. This requires proper file-sharing network permissions. If there is a firewall on either side of the FTPC then a rule must be set up to allow Windows file-sharing traffic (TCP port 445) to pass. VM considerations. This software can be run on virtual machines. If it is offered in your region you may choose to use a software license key. When using a hardware license key, a USB-to-Ethernet adapter such as AnywhereUSB is required. We always recommend hardware license keys where possible because they are reliable, portable and the license activation can never be broken.
