FIRST INTERNATIONAL PRODUCTION OF

DEAR EVAN HANSEN TO PLAY TORONTO, CANADA BEGINNING MARCH 2019 TONY & GRAMMY AWARD-WINNING BEST MUSICAL TO OPEN AT TORONTO’S ROYAL ALEXANDRA THEATRE New York, NY (February 22, 2018) – Producer Stacey Mindich is pleased to announce that she will partner with Canadian producer David Mirvish to present the first international production of the Tony & Grammy Award-winning musical Dear Evan Hansen, which will play Toronto’s Royal Alexandra Theatre beginning in March 2019. The original Broadway production team - including Tony, Grammy, and Academy Award winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (Music & Lyrics), Tony Award-winner Steven Levenson (Book), and four-time Tony Award nominee Michael Greif (Direction) – will reunite to launch this production. “I’m very proud to bring Dear Evan Hansen to Canada next year and partner with David Mirvish, known for the quality of his Canadian productions,” Mindich said. “Our show is all about connection, and it’s exciting to think about audiences in another country finding that profound connection.” "I first saw Dear Evan Hansen at the Second Stage in April 2016. My reaction to it was immediate and profound. It moved and entertained me as few other shows have ever done,” Mirvish said. “I knew it was a show that had to be seen in Toronto. We are delighted that Stacey Mindich — whose dedication to the honest telling of this story and to the creative team that created it is a testament to the making of great theatre — has chosen us to be the show’s first International production. I am confident Canadian audiences will love the show as much as I do, and will cherish the universal truths it tells.” Dear Evan Hansen continues its sold-out, record-breaking run on Broadway, and a multi-city U.S. touring production launches in September 2018 in Denver, Colorado.
