Effects On Academic Performance Education Essay College life can be nerve-racking, although it is without doubt one of the most unforgettable experiences in one's life. It corresponds an important develop moral stage for both late teenagers and young adults. College Students deal with so much hardships and there are many circumstances that make it harder to concentrate with school and to have a sense of balance in their daily lives. Every college student know it is important to be able to perform their best in school in order to obtain a great education. It is the little things that seem to contribute in which they end up affecting a college student's academic performance. The major factors that affect college students are a lack of motivation, lack of sleep, lifestyle and self-responsibility, relationships, student involvement, and stress all play a role in affecting the student. The major reason is without motivation within a person this will make it harder for them to drive forward and dive deep. By not having the necessary amount of sleep the brain and body don't perform at it's peak and can also shut down. A student's daily lifestyle can surely affect the student such as not getting enough nutrition Any type of relationship can have an impact on their self-esteem and emotional health. Their involvement in school whether it is an sport or club plays a role. These are some of the main circumstances in which they play a vital role in affecting a college student's academic performance. A lack of motivation will affect the performance of the student because they don't have a sense of direction to move their lives forward. Many young students who are away from their families have some difficulties coping within their new place and conditions for a university education. A student without the motivation will make them harder to succeed in school. It will lead to laziness and procrastination in the student, which will not only lower their performance but their sense of will to obtain a great education.. EVIDENCE

Having sufficient sleep is vital for a student to perform their overall best in an academic environment. Thus their anxieties can increase, may have poor quality sleep, due to new life style. Sleep quality and anxiety is important because they affect the academic performance directly. For example, student who decide to do some last minute all night studying for an exam the next day and try to cram everything without sleep will effect the way they will do on the exam. According to the scholarly journal Health Med, "Anxieties can change and have pitiful quality sleep due to the brand-new lifestyle." (HealthMed 2251). The reason being is because sleep and anxiety are important because they affect academic performance directly. The daily lifestyle and the actions a student makes influences the behavior of the student. Students who different lifestyle and they also need to accept responsibility to take care of their bodies. As stated by the scholarly journal HealthMed, " The high incidence of poor sleep quality in freshman is a result of their responsibilities in a starting a new educational life and brings a new lifestyle and adaption problems with irregular studying and resting patterns" (HealthMed 2250). Most college students are away from their home have some difficulties adapting to their new environment making this harder for them to accept responsibly. When students move out from the family home, the lifestyle of the student changes drastically to new forms Some studies have shown that the amount of social support from the university and outside contributors like family, friends and mentors can make a huge impact on a student’s success. Support such as emotional, academic, and financial are tremendous factors in the success of a college student. The years spent at college can be a stressful and life-changing experience, having your family and friends, along with the university all be there is crucial. If the student has a family that involves his or her own children, the support of everyone is needed even more, to achieve the goal of graduation. Students that tend to be involved in school are more likely to be successful in school. Either it is by joining a club or intramural it can influence the performance of a student. Statistics shown that students who are more involved tend to have higher grades because they are busy and this keeps them with a well-rounded routine. Different overstress such as time management, financial problems, sleep deprivation, social activities, and for some students even having children, can all pose their own threat to a student’s academic performance by having too much negative stress. There are many factors that can cause stress and influence a student’s academic performance and therefore affect his or her overall G.P.A. The factors include exercise, nutrition, sleep, work and class attendance. A college student may find him or herself in a juggling act, trying to support a family, taking care of job responsibilities, and at the same time trying to make the most of the college career. All of these factors can affect the grades of students, which ultimately affect the rest of their lives. Some students may perceive factors such as nutrition, exercise routines, sleep patterns, social activities, and work as stressors that they need to overcome in order to achieve a higher academic standing. On the other hand, other students may not perceive these life situations as factors of stress at all. Stress itself has been proven to be a factor affecting a college student’s GPA. Moreover the way the student perceives his or her stress can determine how much stress the student is actually under. There are potential circumstances in which affect a college student, on the other hand students whose academic performance is affected do not take this factors in consideration. This students will actually find this factor to serve as positive impact while they are in college. A big impact is typically stress and I know some college student who have never had negative stress. In conclusion, these are some of the main factors which contribute in the impact affecting a college student's academic performance. However there are many other factors that can also have a much negative influence to a students live and daily actions but this are the most impacting..
