With the basic concepts of ERP systems for manufacturing or service companies, and the differences among ( Material Requirement Planning) MRP, MRP II, and ERP systems;

Apply the principles of ERP systems, their major components, and the relationships among these components;

Course Contents/Syllabus: Module I : Introduction to Enterprise Resource Planning Introduction of the term Business Process Reengineering(BPR) ,BPR Methodology, Current BPR Tools ,Introduction to material requirement planning (MRP), Definition of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP); Evolution of ERP; Characteristics, Features, Components and needs of ERP; ERP Vendors; Benefits & Limitations of ERP Packages

Module II : Enterprise Modeling and Integration of ERP

Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of the subject , students will be able to : Classify different processes of the organization and relationship among all processes . examine systematically the planning mechanisms in an enterprise, and identify all components in an ERP system and the relationships among the components; To describe the Generic Model of ERP and General ERP Implementation Methodology.

To apply the concepts of BPR, SCM and CRM. To demonstrate knowledge of SAP and Oracle Apps.

Pedagogy for Course Delivery: The course joins together Highly Interactive Lectures, Case studies, Quiz, interacting with ERP experts in the field /through guest lectures /seminars/workshops and understudy presentations. Classroom discussions form an important part of the learning experience. The readings for the course are attracted from text books , journals and new innovative ideas /articles published by experts of the ERP field. The understanding will develop from the comparative study of ERP Softwares from different vendors proliferating in the market .
