EPEE: Ben Bratton Ben Bratton is currently one of the most successful epee fencers from the United States. Originally from Queens, New York, Ben graduated from the Dwight School in New York City and St. John’s University. Ben is a three-time fencing All-American and three-time national champion and was the winner of the gold medal at the 2012 Team World Fencing Championships. The victory is a first in the history of United States fencing. Ben has extensive coaching experience with the Fencers Club Schools Partnership Program and also coaches for the Peter Westbrook Foundation. Rashaan Greenhouse Hailing from Brooklyn, Rashaan Greenhouse was a member of the US World Championship Men’s Epee Team in 2001 and also the 2002 US National Championship Men’s Epee Team. He got his start fencing with the Peter Westbrook Foundation and also gained valuable coaching experience during their Saturday sessions at Fencers Club. He attended St. John’s University and enlisted in the Air Force before coming back to Fencers Club to coach in the Partner Schools Program. Joanna Guy Joanna was born in Poland and raised in Toronto, Canada. She started fencing when she was 15 years old and attended St. John’s University, during which time she was Team Manager and named All-American for four consecutive years. She has earned two bronze medals at Junior World Cups and has also placed in the top 16 at Senior World Cups. Adam Rodney Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, Adam is a graduate of St. John’s University. Adam fenced all four years during his tenure and was named All-American in 2006. Adam placed third at the 2010 National Championships and won a team gold medal at the 2009 National Championships. In addition, Adam has had a number of international successes, including his silver medal team finish at the 2010 World Cup in Tallin, Estonia. He has been a coach and a mentor at many fencing programs in New York City area. Dwight Smith Dwight Smith has been fencing since he was nine years old and is considered one the nation’s top men’s epee fencers. He graduated from Columbia University. While at Columbia, he was a three-time fencing All-American and three-time All-Ivy League honoree. He was also a member of the Peter Westbrook Foundation team that won the gold medal at the 2010 National Fencing Championships. Dwight has extensive coaching and mentoring experience both in the FC Partner Schools Program and at the Peter Westbrook Foundation. Reka Szele Reka began her fencing career in her native Hungary as a youth. She attended Saint John’s University and compete on a full athletic scholarship. While at St. John's, she was a four-time All American, and also won both bronze and silver medals at the NCAA level. After graduating, Reka became one of the top-ranked fencers in Hungary again while competing in international tournaments. She now coaches with the FC Partner Schools program in addition to working in real estate.

Emily Cross Emily has won three World Championships and a team silver medal in women’s foil at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China. Emily fenced at Harvard University, where she became the first Harvard female to win the NCAA Championship. Donovan Holtz Donovan Holtz began fencing at the age of 10. He very quickly developed into an internationally competitive fencer. Holtz volunteers coaching with the Westbrook Foundation Donovan studied at Rutgers University and NJIT. He also coached the NJIT fencing team for four seasons. Currently Donovan runs the FC Pro Shop. Donovan is also the Fencers Club Foundations for Excellence Head Mentor. Brendan Meyers Brendan Meyers attended St. John’s University, where he competed on their NCAA fencing team. He has been on three World Championship teams and has won numerous national titles. He has been an assistant coach at Fencers Club for many years and was the Head Men’s Coach at the New Amsterdam Fencing Academy. Brendan is currently coaching in the Schools Partnership Program and at the Brooklyn Bridge Fencing Club. Robert Nunziato Robert has been fencing for more than a decade. He is one of the top junior men’s foil fencers in the country. His career highlights include numerous medals at the national level, including a gold medal at the 2011 Junior Olympics. In addition to being a Partner Schools Coach, Robert is also an assistant coach with Fencers Club Coach Simon Gershon. Adam Rodney Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, Adam is a graduate of St. John’s University. Adam fenced all four years during his tenure and was named All-American in 2006. Adam placed third at the 2010 National Championships and won a team gold medal at the 2009 National Championships. In addition, Adam has had a number of international successes, including his silver medal team finish at the 2010 World Cup in Tallin, Estonia. He has been a coach and a mentor at many fencing programs in New York City area. Nicole Ross Nicole Ross started to fence at the age of nine. Most recently she was a member of the US Olympic Team at the 2012 London Games. She was also a member of the 2009 Junior World Championship gold medal team and won the 2010 NCAA championship while attending Columbia University. Nicole has worked with young fencers, often assisting her coaches with their beginner classes as well as after school programs.

She was an alternate for the 2012 London Olympic Games and has several medal-winning finishes to her name. She is a graduate of Arizona State University, during which time she was the two-time NCAA national champion. She is currently coaching with the Fencers Club Schools Partnership Program while training for the 2016 Olympics in Rio.

SABRE: Luther Clement Luther Clement started to fence when he was five years old. He is one of the best men’s sabre fencers in the United States. Luther has been on the US National Team several times. Luther won a bronze medal at the Junior World Championships, earned All-American honors, and was named East Coast Athletic Scholar of the Year. He began his coaching career as assistant coach to the head fencing coach of the University of Pennsylvania. Currently, Luther is coaching in the FC Schools Partnership Program, attending classes at NYU, and is running his own media company. Laura Decker Laura Decker is a top female sabre fencer. She is a graduate of CalTech and is currently pursuing her Masters at Fordham University. In addition to being a competitive fencer, she is also a nationally rated referee in all three weapons for USA Fencing. She has extensive coaching experience with the Fencers Club Schools Partnership program. Akhnaten Spencer-El Akhnaten “Akhi” Spencer-El got his start fencing with the Peter Westbrook Foundation. He became the #1 men’s sabre fencer in the world in 1998, and that same year he was named “Fencer of the Year.” He was also a two-time National Champion before going on to become an Olympian in 2000 fencing at the Sydney Games. He received his Maestro’s degree from Semmelweis University in Hungary and now coaches for Fencers Club and the Peter Westbrook Foundation.

Kornel Udvarhelyi, Head Schools Coach Coach Udvarhelyi earned his Maestro’s degree with high honors and became the Hungarian National Junior Epee Coach, during which time his top student won the Cadet World Championship, Junior World Cup, and earned a Silver Medal at the Junior World Championships. His American students have had similar success at the Cadet and Junior World Championships, as well as U.S. National and NCAA Championships. In addition to coaching at the Fencers Club, he also coaches at New York University.
