Executive Profiles Aon Risk Solutions Lambros Lambrou Chief Executive Officer - Aon Risk Solutions Lambros has worked in the insurance industry for over 30 years, with experience across Asia Pacific, the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Lambros took the helm as CEO of Aon Australia in January 2014. He was most recently Chief Executive Officer of Aon's Global Broking Centre in London and the Chief Broking Officer of Aon Broking in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Prior to this, Lambros has held a number of global posts including Head of Strategy for Aon Broking, Head of Aon Analytics and Head of Carrier Management for Aon Risk Services in Chicago. Lambros' appointment to the role of CEO of Aon Risk Solutions in Australia represents a return home, as he spent 16 years with Aon in Australia working in both the reinsurance and direct businesses. Bill Hooper Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operations Officer, Pacific - Aon Risk Solutions Bill joined Aon in 2002 as CFO for Aon Asia Pacific based in Hong Kong, where he oversaw Aon's businesses in 20 countries, including five Joint Ventures. In 2009 Bill relocated to Australia and soon after moved into his current role as CFO/COO for the Pacific region. Bill is responsible for the financial management and operational efficiency of Aon's businesses across Australia and New Zealand with a focus on delivering financial targets and driving long-term business strategies. Before joining Aon, Bill worked for Unilever in a variety of financial and general management roles in the UK and Asia. Bill is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and has a BA with Honours in Business Studies from Oxford Brookes University. Bruce Gordon Managing Director, Global & Corporate - Aon Risk Solutions Bruce first worked for Aon 1995-2000 and returned in November 2015 to take up the position of Managing Director of Global & Corporate. His earlier career included working as an underwriter in the UK and Belgium and thereafter, as the risk and insurance manager for major Australian and multinational corporations operating in the chemicals and life science sectors. Bruce holds an honours degree in law from the University of Exeter and is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute. Jennifer Richards Managing Director, Specialties - Aon Risk Solutions Jennifer is responsible for the strategic growth of our specialty businesses in Australia, which include People Risk, Financial Specialties and Aon Global Risk Consulting. Jennifer joined Aon in August 2011 as the Regional Director, Asia Pacific for M&A Solutions. In January 2014, she was appointed the Managing Director of Financial Specialties and in November of the same year she also became Managing Director of Aon Global Risk Consulting. In December 2015, Jennifer's role was expanded to include leadership of the People Risk business. Prior to joining Aon, Jennifer held a variety of senior management roles at AIG and has over 15 years of private equity, M&A and insurance experience. Prior to joining the insurance industry, Jennifer practiced corporate/M&A and securities law at Sidley Austin LLP in New York City. Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Laws and attended King's College at the University of Cambridge where she completed a Master of Laws. James Baum Managing Director, Commercial & Chairman Aon Broking, Pacific James has been an insurance broker for more than 20 years, working with major international broking firms in Australia and London, providing strategic advice to clients and helping them to maximise their risk insurance financing outcomes. He joined Aon in 2005 and since then has worked in every facet of the placement business. He took up his current role in late May 2013 and his previous role was Chief Broking Officer, Australia. James and his team of more than 40 dedicated risk broking professionals across the Pacific region are responsible for the design and placement of programs for Aon clients in both Australian and international insurance markets. James is a member of the Aon Chief Broking Officer's Global Executive which includes members from the Americas, UK, EMEA and Asia. Kevan Johnston Chief Commercial Officer, Aon Risk Solutions Kevan has worked in the insurance broking industry for over 24 years, with clients in the corporate sector for the past 17. Prior to moving to Australia, Kevan worked in the UK broking market. Kevan re-joined Aon in 2017 as the Chief Commercial Officer. Prior to the appointment, Kevan held the State Manager role at an international broking firm, leading their major client business in NSW. Kevan’s previous appointment with Aon was between 2005 and 2013. Kevan held various responsibilities throughout his career including account management, strategic direction and placement (major accounts), and leading large broker teams. Kevan’s experience spans across a wide range of industries, including construction, transport & logistics, real estate, gaming, power, food & beverage, and not for profit and mining/energy. David Cole Managing Director - Affinity - Aon Risk Solutions David has worked in the insurance industry for over 25 years. He started his career at Royal Insurance (Vero) in 1985 as a graduate trainee. He worked at Sedgwick (Marsh) in a variety of roles servicing clients in the Mining, Construction, Energy and Retail industries. This included servicing major global placements. He also worked in London for nine months broking to the London and Lloyd's insurance markets. He joined Aon in 2002 as the head of the Business Solutions team in Melbourne, progressing to the State Manager for the Corporate team in Victoria and onto the COO of the National Corporate business. From January 2012 to December 2015, David was the Managing Director of the newly created Client Service Support team – ensuring the delivery of high quality service to Aon's clients. He also retained a top level / strategic role on many of Aon's largest clients. In January 2016, David was appointed to the role of Managing Director of the Affinity team. David has a Bachelor of Science (Mathematics), is a Qualified Practicing Insurance Broker and an Affiliate of the Australian Insurance Institute. He has also attended Kellogg University business school in Chicago. Scott Willmot Chief Growth Officer – Aon Australia Scott is the Chief Growth Officer for Aon Australia. Scott’s role focuses on delivering the capabilities of Aon Risk Solutions, Aon Hewitt and Aon Benfield. Scott has over 36 years’ experience in the insurance industry, holding numerous senior positions within Aon over the past 20 years, including Managing Director Retail, Managing Director Affinity and Chairman Affinity. Scott is the Chairman of the Aon United Management Board, a Director of Aon Risk Solutions, and a Member of a number of leadership executive teams in Australia.
Aon Hewitt Steven Gaffney Chief Executive Officer - Aon Hewitt Pacific Steven is responsible for the operations of Aon Hewitt in Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea. He also sits on Aon Hewitt's Asia Pacific Executive Committee. Steven was brought to Australia from England by Mercer in 1987 as a Superannuation Consultant. He moved into his own business 'The Australian Superannuation Group' in the early 1990s in which he was the Managing Director and majority shareholder until it was acquired by Aon in 2000. Steven's role developed within Aon over a 10 year period, resulting in a position where he was leading Australia's Employee Benefit Solutions division developing Superannuation, Rewards, International Benefits and Financial Planning services to corporate clients. Steven accepted the position as Aon Hewitt Chief Commercial Officer for Australia at the end of 2010 where he was responsible for ensuring that Aon Hewitt achieves its growth targets. Steven stepped into the role of Chief Executive Officer in 2014.
Aon Benfield Robert De Souza President - Aon Benfield Asia Pacific / Chief Executive Officer - Aon Benfield Australia & New Zealand Robert has been with Aon Benfield (nee Benfield and Greig Fester) since 1988, joining after working as a Treaty and Facultative Underwriter with Copenhagen Re. His broking career has been spent primarily on treaty production and marketing in Australian and New Zealand and mostly in respect of all property classes and structured transactions. Robert was appointed CEO Australia & New Zealand and President APAC of Aon Benfield following the merger of Aon Re and Benfield Australia. He was appointed Managing Director of Benfield Australia in 2000 and Chairman in 2006. Robert is responsible for Aon Benfield's operations in Australia and New Zealand. Robert holds a Bachelor of Economics from Sydney University and is a Senior Associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance. John Carroll Managing Director - Aon Benfield John joined Aon Benfield in September, 2011 as Head of Treaty Broking for Aon Benfield's Australian Treaty business. Prior to joining Aon Benfield, John was employed by Guy Carpenter for five years, where he held the role of Head of Broking responsible for Guy Carpenter's treaty operations in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. From 1991 to 2006, John was employed by Swiss Re in Australia where he held the position of Head of Client Management for Swiss Re's Australian & New Zealand operations. John has over 20 years experience within the reinsurance industry and provides a strong technical focus to Aon Benfield's Australian clients, encompassing general market business and regulatory environment oversight, reinsurance advice and analysis, negotiation and placement, and reinsurance market carrier management. John is a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance and has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Melbourne where he majored in Mathematics and Statistics.
