Reflections from our Chiropractic Members The benefits of seeing a chiropractor can be much more than just back and neck pain. In our practice, we work to help improve the quality of life of our patients by addressing many aspects of their health and providing an integrated health care approach. Also, as a certified nutrition specialist, looking at a patient’s nutrition can be a powerful tool in helping with a wide range of chronic health issues. Many people who come to our practice originally come as a result of pain, but find that there are many other benefits to an integrative health approach – such as increased energy, reduced stress, and improved strength, just to name a few. As a chiropractor, I have had the honor to be a part of the Syracuse Crunch healthcare team. Working with professional athletes and the other team physicians is a continuous learning experience that we bring to our practice and our patients. I look forward to continuing to serve the community by providing an integrative approach to helping to promote overall health and wellness.

— Theodore Baldini, DC, MSACN, CNS, ICCSP, Seneca Chiropractic and Family Wellness

After 17 years in practice, I continue to love offering chiropractic care to people of all ages. I have always enjoyed the ability to help people recover quickly from their aches and pains. Myself and my two colleagues [at Seneca Chiropractic & Family Wellness] have recently completed our training as International Certified Chiropractic Sports Physicians (ICCSP) and we are now treating recreational, pop warner, high school, and college athletes as well as the Syracuse Crunch Hockey Team. With this additional training, I have been able to apply this treatment skill set not only to professional athletes but to athletes of all ages in a family based practice setting. There is no better reward than to see an athlete return to their sport after an injury and knowing that you helped them get there.

— David J Isabella, DC, ICCSP, Seneca Chiropractic and Family Wellness

The benefits of chiropractic care reach far beyond “quick adjustments” and even further than basic pain relief, even though these are common reasons for people to seek chiropractic care. Pain relief is an important part of our patient care, but the benefit does not stop there. Our healthcare approach can take you to a point of preventative and wellness care where you stay healthy and at your best. As a practice, we have had the opportunity to work with the Syracuse Crunch as members of their healthcare team. It has been a fun and educational experience working with professional athletes and the other team physicians. I have personally enjoyed taking what I have learned and my experiences with the team and relaying that into the treatment of patient’s in the office.

October is National Chiropractic Month! As a Doctor of Chiropractic and a part of our team at Seneca Chiropractic and Family Wellness, I look forward to continuing to further my knowledge and experiences to provide the best care toward the overall health and wellness of the community.

— David Stevens DC, ICCSP, Seneca Chiropractic and Family Wellness

Chiropractic is a health science that is concerned with the proper function of the nervous system as it relates to the body as a whole. It emphasizes the innate recuperative power of the body to heal itself without the use of drugs and surgery. Many people initially seek the care of a chiropractor for pain, muscle weakness, or other illnesses. Most people continue chiropractic care for the health benefits through the nervous system. The nervous system controls every cell, tissue, organ and system of the body. The most common problem that can cause interference in the nervous system is misalignments (subluxations) of the spinal column. Chiropractors correct these misalignments to restore proper nerve function so that the body can heal itself naturally. Chiropractic is the only profession that which specializes in maintaining a well-balanced spine and nervous system simultaneously. Dr. Harrington has extensive postgraduate training. She is certified in Webster Technique, Applied Kinesiology, Flexion-Distraction, and Receptor-Tonus Method. Dr. Harrington is the only chiropractor in the Syracuse area that is a Distinguished Fellow of Chiropractic BioPhysics (AKA Chiropractic Biomechanics of Posture). She is certified in this technique which focuses on restoring normal posture and spinal alignment through specific adjustments, exercises, and corrective traction. Call our office at 315-461-4510 for a complimentary consultation on how chiropractic care can benefit you! — Dr. Laura E. Harrington, Liverpool Chiropractic & Wellness, PLLC

From Prospect to Loyal Customer: Can you do it? By James McEntire

James McEntire is owner of “TheBoomersSecondAct.com. A coaching business dedicated to helping individuals over the age of 50+ who wish to startup a successful new business venture.

N

ational “Get to Know Your Customers Day” is on October 19th. What are customers really thinking when they come to do business with you? Research shows there is a mindset of distrust in the business world - one that permeates virtually every industry and is widely accepted as truth. This mindset is based on a belief that those in sales are not to be trusted. When you as a business owner or salesperson need to buy something foryourself and switch hats to become a potential customer, do you really trust other salespeople? If you said no, that is not surprising. According to a new survey from HubSpot Research, only a mere 3% of people consider salespeople to be trustworthy! If you own a business with salespeople or are a salesperson, what are you supposed to do to gain a prospect’s confidence , show that you are trustworthy, and win their loyalty? The truth is the prospect doesn’t care about you, your product, your service or the fact you have been in business over 126 years. You care, your family cares, but not the prospect. It is not about you, it is about THEM. It is highly likely the prospect doesn’t trust you. You see they don’t trust the government, the politicians, the media, public opinion polls, the banks, or President Trump. They don’t trust anybody. Your prospect doesn’t think like you. Your prospect has different needs than you. Your prospect has different fears than you. If you want the prospect to trust you, buy from you, and to be loyal to you, then you need to see their perception of the buying experience. You need to get into their shoes, see things out of their eyes, find out what they feel , and find out what are they thinking.

19

Why are they thinking about buying this product or service, what are their real needs ? How do you do all of this? By asking your prospect great questions, and then by really listening to them, watching their tone of voice, and their body language. What have been their previous buying experiences, what things make them feel comfortable about this type of purchase? In their words, what would show them a business is trustworthy? The answers are with the prospect. Once they trust you, then you can let them know of the benefits of doing business with you. Does this sound like it is too much hassle, too much work or too hard for you to do? Hundreds of salespeople from these businesses won’t have this opportunity on October 19th to get to know their customers – the previous salespeople of the closed K-Mart, JC Penney, Bon-Ton, Hallmark, and TGI Fridays. Yes, October 19th is National Get to Know Your Customers Day, but consider making EVERYDAY “get to know your customers day.” REGISTER FOR THIS FREE TRAINING

1. Has a lack of transparency (they’re in it for the sale!) 2. Is not trustworthy 3. May not honor their promises 4. Might not be selling me the right product/services for my needs 5. Does not understand my needs 6. Is too pushy Strategic Entrepreneurs understand that in today’s economy, evidence has proven that customers are still spending money but they’re being smarter with the decisions they are making! As long as you approach marketing and sales with the attitude of just “closing the deal” you’re missing the point…Your customer needs you to understand their needs, problems, and wants, and help them become a smarter consumer so they feel they made the best possible deal. No more shenanigans, trickery, and hard sales. Rather than approaching your customer with the attitude, “I wonder how much money I can get out of them?” – the Strategic Entrepreneur will ask him/ herself: “How can I provide this person with the greatest advantage, benefit, or value?” And when your customers feel special, valued, and appreciated because of your approach to sales and marketing – they will begin to trust you. With trust, likeability, and the feeling that they know you – you’ve got the winning combination for higher sales conversions, more repeat business, greater profits, and a windfall of referrals. Like all the best marketing ideas and strategies, it really just boils down to some common sense and reflecting back on how you would like to be treated if the tables were turned. Move forward. Earn more profits. Make a difference. 20

n September we will celebrate National Family Health and Fitness Day. These days, it is widely accepted in society that being fit and active can help reduce your risk of disease and injury, as well as help your energy level and quality of life. As a physical therapist, I’m often encouraging my patients to increase their activity level to reduce the pain and limitations they are experiencing.

When families focus on fitness and health together, they build long-term healthy habits that result in stronger bodies, minds, and relationships. Physical therapy plays an important role in this by helping minimize injuries, improve range of motion and circulation, and increasing stamina and muscle strength. When we treat a whole family, we can make recommendations for everyone which sets the entire family up for success! Physical therapy is a proven, faster, more cost effective treatment plan for orthopedic conditions. And you can often get out of pain without the use of opioid drugs! At Sports PT in Liverpool (with locations in Camillus and Manlius too), we can get you into the office within 24 hours, which is much faster than many specialists. Additionally, we can have your treatment started right away to get you on your way to improved health and fitness. Families can call us directly at (315) 451-6767; you do not need a prescription from your primary doctor. Let us help your family focus on their fitness goals! Stay active! Keep moving! #GetPT1st

Have Table….Will Travel By Jami Bisesi, Infinity Wellness

N

ational Massage Therapy Awareness Week is October 22nd – 28th! Infinity Wellness Center, a local massage therapy organization, is on the move! What began in a one room building in North Syracuse transitioned to a 3,000 squarefoot wellness center. In addition to several different types of popular massage including Swedish, deep tissue, and cupping, the Center also offered community movie nights, luncheons, meet up groups, and spiritual mass. The Center was home to Women’s Wellness Retreats and created an original color therapy healing room. A gift shop inside the facility featured direct sale products from other womenowned businesses. So where is Infinity Wellness Center moving to? I’m taking all of these therapies on the road so that I can meet people where they are. Corporate and medical offices, senior homes, residential calls, and local area festivals are some of the different places I will be traveling with my massage table, chair, and of course, essential oils and wellness products. Massage therapy alone has a multitude of ailments that it relieves such as chronic neck and back pain, fibromyalgia, cardiovascular health problems, migraines, sports related tight muscles, hand, foot and leg pain. It promotes an overall feeling of wellness and vitality to your body like no other therapy can! Whether I travel to you or you visit me in Baldwinsville, you can count on a pleasant, clientspecific massage experience that gets to the heart of any ailment you may be presenting with. Have faith in healing. Call me for more information or to set up an appointment at (315)516-0676.
