FAQ Search FAQs Can I connect a portable dishwasher or water filter to my kitchen faucet? You can connect a portable dishwasher or water filter to any Delta kitchen faucet that is not a pull-out or pull-down design. Never connect a portable dishwasher to pull-out or pull-down kitchen faucets, as potential pressure fluctuations during dishwasher operation may result in the hose rupturing. Some Delta kitchen faucets have a cache, or hidden, aerator for design purposes. This design can be found in the Victorian, Pilar, and Talbott series. If your model has a cache (hidden) aerator, you will need to order RP51505 adaptor to adapt the internal threads to standard 55/64"-27 male threads in order to connect the dishwasher. Was this answer helpful? Still need help? Contact us! Print this answer I can't get a new sprayer Quick Connect hose through my old support assembly. What's wrong? The old support assembly is not large enough for the Quick Connect to pass through. Along with a new Quick Connect hose, you will need a new support assembly that has been enlarged to accommodate the new QC fittings. The new part number for that is RP6015. Was this answer helpful? Still need help? Contact us! Print this answer My single handle kitchen faucet keeps loosening up on our sink. Why? Most likely your sink has a very smooth underside and with use, the mounting bracket is loosening up over time. We recommend placing some emery cloth between the sink and the mounting bracket of the faucet to help give it some traction when tightened down. Was this answer helpful? Still need help? Contact us! Print this answer Why is there no o-ring on the nipple for the sprayer of my new Model 156, 172, or 174? The nipple for the sprayer doesn't have an o-ring. The two hoses for the sprayer and for the spout cannot be interchanged which would cause the spray to not function. The o-ring for the sprayer and a spacer are inside the housing of the sprayer hose. Was this answer helpful? Still need help? Contact us! Print this answer I have a new Model 470, and it leaks under the handle. What's the problem? The most common reason is from a loose adjusting ring: Check for loose adjusting ring and tighten as needed.

The second reason relates to the type of ball valve installed. Earlier production of this faucet included a vacuum breaker ball. Since then a new spray head was developed with internal check assemblies, eliminating the requirement for a vacuum breaker ball. The vacuum breaker ball can be identified through the existence of two vent holes in the top of it.

If the faucet has a vacuum breaker ball, there are two options: 1. Replace the vacuum breaker ball, part number RP12301 OR 2. Order new spray head (wand), part number RP32542, and new non-vacuum breaker ball, part number RP70. Was this answer helpful? Still need help? Contact us! Print this answer After turning off my pull-out spray faucet, water continues to drip for a minute or so. Is something wrong? Nothing is wrong with your faucet. Water is simply emptying from the aerator and the hose of your faucet. Was this answer helpful? Still need help? Contact us! Print this answer My Quick Connect leaks at the fitting. How can I fix that? You need to push the fitting up over the nipple a little harder (you should hear a distinct "snap" or "click"). If you push it on gently, you might hear a slight click, but you haven't quite compressed the o-ring into the housing of the hose. One more push should solve the problem.

Was this answer helpful? Still need help? Contact us! Print this answer What do I do if water leaks from my kitchen spout while my vegetable sprayer is in use? The problem may be a blocked or damaged diverter assembly. Follow these steps to solve: To access the diverter -- Single-handle faucet: 1. Shut off water supply under the sink. 2. Cover drain opening so parts won’t fall into it. 3. Remove the handle, cap, cam, packing and ball assembly. Gently rotate and lift off the spout.

4. Remove the diverter assembly. Be sure to remove the entire diverter.

Insert a flat head screwdriver or an Allen wrench into the body cavity to pop out the diverter. Check for debris on the diverter, as well as in the diverter cavity in the faucet body. A flashlight will help when looking to the back of the cavity. 5. Clean the diverter thoroughly by soaking in a 50/50 vinegar and water solution for two hours; reinstall. If diverter appears damaged, replace it with Delta® diverter RP320. To access the diverter -- Two-handle faucet: 1. Shut off water supply under the sink. 2. Cover drain opening so parts won’t fall into it. 3. Unscrew and remove the spout nut. Use a crescent wrench to loosen if necessary.

4. Unscrew the diverter from the top of the body using a coin (if the diverter is plastic) or a screwdriver (if the diverter is metal). Be sure to remove the entire diverter.

5. Clean the diverter by soaking in a 50/50 vinegar and water solution for 2 hours. Flush any debris from the opening. 6. Replace the diverter and spout nut.

Check to see if the diverter functions properly. If not, replace it with Delta diverter RP6073. Be sure that the old diverter seal is removed before install the new diverter. The old diverter seal can prevent the new diverter from operating properly Be careful not to over tighten the diverter. NOTE: Old style metal and current-style plastic diverters are interchangeable. In most cases handle styles are available in different sizes, depending on the application of the faucet. To locate a local source for Delta handles, visit your licensed professional plumbing contractor or Delta showroom. You can also e-mail us or call 1-800-345-DELTA (3358). Was this answer helpful? Still need help? Contact us! Print this answer Can I change the handles on my kitchen two-handle faucet? Yes. Delta® two-handle kitchen models can be fitted with a wide variety of handle styles to suit your tastes. Changing Delta faucet handles is simple and takes less than five minutes. If you are changing from lever handles to knob or porcelain cross handles, you will need to re-orient the right (cold) handle stem stop so the stem stop faces inward. If you are changing from knob or porcelain cross handles to lever handles, you will need to re-orient the right (cold) handle stem stop so the stem stop faces outward (both left and right handle stem stops should orient to the right). FAQ Search FAQs How can I clean and/or remove mineral deposits from my shower head? On Touch-Clean® Shower Heads, we recommend you wipe the face of the shower head spray holes to loosen and break away deposits. For more difficult deposits on non-Touch-Clean® shower heads, we recommend soaking the item in a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water. This solution will help remove any deposits while not harming the finish. To make the task more efficient, you may want to check on the item periodically and use a tooth brush to help break up any remaining deposits. Was this answer helpful? Still need help? Contact us! Print this answer How do I keep the surface of my shower base clean? We recommend you clean your shower base with a non-abrasive and/or non-caustic cleaner to prevent scratching or dulling the finish. Was this answer helpful? Still need help? Contact us! Print this answer I don't want to change my plumbing. What kind of shower can I get? If you don’t want to modify your existing plumbing, you can get a standard shower, which you can customize by simply choosing your own configuration options. You can also get a jetted shower, which can give you that spa-like experience without requiring a major overhaul of your entire bathroom. See Your Shower Experience for more information on the options available. Was this answer helpful? Still need help? Contact us! Print this answer What is a custom shower? A custom shower is a combination of showerheads, body sprays and hand showers that you personally select to create the shower of your dreams. Designing a Delta customer shower is the perfect way to get your shower just the way you imagined it. See Your Shower Experience and discover more information on the options available. Was this answer helpful? Still need help? Contact us! Print this answer Is this anything I should consider when looking at custom showers? Custom showers will usually have a higher water demand. Therefore you should design a configuration that will not exceed the amount of water the valve can provide, or that the hot water heater can support, or that and the drain can take away. It is best to work with an experienced designed and plumber when purchasing a custom shower. Was this answer helpful?

Still need help? Contact us! Print this answer What is a jetted shower? The Delta Jetted Shower™ is a semi-custom shower solution. It features a shower head and two spray jets with a revitalizing, yet relaxing, wide spray. You can add functionality by selecting the Jetted Shower XO (eXtra Outlet) and choosing an additional shower head, In2ition® Shower, XO Jet Module™ or hand shower. See Your Shower Experience for more information on the options available. Was this answer helpful? Still need help? Contact us! Print this answer How do I remove my bathroom sink drain stopper for cleaning? If a stopper does not lift straight out, it is being held in by the horizontal rod. Behind the drain pipe under the sink is a horizontal rod that is connected to the lift rod by a strap. The horizontal rod is held in place by a nut. Remove the nut and pull the horizontal rod straight away from the pipe about an inch. The stopper should now come free of the drain. Was this answer helpful? Still need help? Contact us! Print this answer How do I remove my tub drain stopper for cleaning? There are two types of tub drain stoppers: lift & turn and toe tap. Lift & Turn The lift & turn stopper for the bathtub unscrews counterclockwise while in the "full up" position. Toe Tap The toe tap stopper also unscrews counterclockwise while in the "full up" position. However, the cap may unscrew from the plunger assembly before the entire stopper comes out. In that case, there is a nut that will be exposed that can be used to unscrew the plunger assembly from the drain. If either of these is "spinning" without unscrewing, the threads are stripped, and you will need to exert upward pressure while unscrewing to uncouple this from the bath waste. If that doesn't work, you will have to unscrew the bath waste flange from the drain pipe. This will require access under the tub. Was this answer helpful? Still need help? Contact us! Print this answer What does “chair height” mean? Chair height or seat height refers to the distance from the finished floor to the top of the toilet seat. An ADA-compliant toilet seat must be between 17 inches (minimum) and 19 inches (maximum) above the finished floor. Delta toilets are ADA-compliant to make sitting down and standing back up easier. Was this answer helpful? Still need help? Contact us! Print this answer What are the dimensions of chair height vs. standard height toilets? ADA-compliant chair height is a minimum of 17 inches and a maximum of 19 inches from the finished floor to the top of the toilet seat. Standard height toilets are typically 14 to 15 inches in height. FAQ Search FAQs On my widespread kitchen, bathroom sink, lavatory, or Roman tub faucet there is too much of a gap between the escutcheon and the handle. How can I fix this? A small gap is normal and necessary to allow proper movement of the handle without damaging the escutcheon below it. An excessive gap results from improper height adjustment at the time of installation. To fix it: 1. Loosen the nut under the counter/sink. 2. Then screw the escutcheon UP just enough to make up the gap. 3. Then re-tighten the nut. This lowers the valve and reduces the gap Was this answer helpful? Still need help? Contact us! Print this answer Can drain openers cause damage to finishes? In most cases, the finish is safe if you follow the manufacturer’s instructions for use and make sure the drain cleaner isn’t left on the finish for longer than 30 minutes. Was this answer helpful? For stubborn deposits, rub with a toothbrush. Was this answer helpful? Still need help? Contact us!

Print this answer How should I clean or maintain the finish on my faucet? Always blot dry any water from the faucet surface. Allowing water to evaporate on the surface can lead to build up of mineral deposits. Cleaning with a damp non-abrasive sponge and buffing it dry with a clean soft cloth should help keep your product looking beautiful. To remove water spots, use warm water and a soft, damp cloth. Hard water stains may be removed using a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water. Make certain that you rinse the surface thoroughly with water afterward. If additional cleaning is required, all of our finishes may be cleaned with the following household cleaners: Formula 409® Antibacterial All Purpose Cleaner, Fantastik® All Purpose Cleaner, or Windex® Original Glass Cleaner, when used according to the manufacturers' instructions for use. Avoid using the following which can damage your finish: Avoid industrial cleaners and abrasive cleaners, such as those used for toilet bowls, green Scotch-Brite heavy duty scrub sponges, Scrubbing Bubbles Bathroom Cleaner and Lysol Basin Tub, Soft Scrub, and Tile Cleaner. Avoid products that state on the label that they remove tarnish and rust and those containing hydrofluoric, hydrochloric and/or phosphoric acids and caustic agents. Avoid harsh abrasives or polishes. Print this answer Can I cut to size the PEX supplies on my DST faucet? Delta Faucet Company recommends you leave the existing fitting on the PEX supply tubing and not shorten the tubing. If you determine the PEX supply tubing for this faucet is too long and must be shorter to create an acceptable installation, be sure to read the instructions and plan ahead. When cutting the supply tubing, the installer accepts the responsibility to do so in a way that allows a leak-free joint to be created. Delta is not responsible for tubing that is cut too short or cut in a way that will not allow for a leakfree joint. For custom fit installations, you must use RP50952 sleeves supplied with model and nuts included on supply lines. Tube cut must be straight. See plastic sleeve installation instructions found on RP50952. NOTICE: DO NOT use a metal sleeve, RP51243 gasket (supplied with faucet) or ferrule in the place of the plastic sleeve supplied--it may not create a leak-free joint. Do not use pipe dope or other sealants on water line connections. Instructions: Watch this how-to video for information on how to cut your PEX supply lines to size. 1. Identify desired length of tube (1). Leave 1" - 2" of extra length to allow for easier installation, and cut tube. Ensure cut is straight and burr free. 2. Slide nut (2) and plastic sleeve (3) onto cut tube. Ensure sleeve is oriented as shown. 3. Insert tube into outlet fitting (4). Tube should touch bottom of hole inside fitting. 4. Slide plastic sleeve down tube until it engages top of fitting. NOTICE: Failure to use plastic sleeve in the correct orientation will result in disconnection and possible water damage. 5. Slide nut over plastic sleeve. With wrench, tighten nut 2 turns past finger tight. Do not overtighten.

FAQ Search FAQs What is California AB1953? California AB 1953 (or Vermont S152 if you get a Vermont query) is a law that further limits the weighted average (amount of) lead content in pipes, fittings and plumbing fixtures used to convey drinking water to a maximum of .25% on wetted services. This is less than the allowable level in most states whose standards are based on the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act, which has been very effective in making drinking water safer. Was this answer helpful? Still need help? Contact us! Print this answer What is this California Prop 65 Warning label about? Delta Faucet Company provides the warning label to comply with the California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, commonly known as “Proposition 65.” Many products sold in California are required by law to carry the label. The following example label is included on packaging for Delta®, Brizo® and Peerless® showers, tub fillers, bidets, toilets, accessories and select repair parts (RPs):

We are providing Prop 65 warning labels simply to inform consumers that the product contains chemicals on the State of California’s Prop 65 list. Delta Faucet Company products that carry the Prop 65 label include components made with brass, which contains small but detectible amounts of lead—an element included on the Prop 65 chemical list. Brass has a decadeslong history of successful use in plumbing applications. Even though a product may be found to contain a Proposition 65-listed chemical, it does not mean that use of the product will cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. Nor does it mean that a product is unsafe. All Delta Faucet Company products meet or exceed the requirements of applicable product performance and safety industry standards, as well as the federal Safe Drinking Water Act. We are confident there is no health hazard associated with the installation or removal of Delta, Brizo or Peerless products. Was this answer helpful? Still need help? Contact us! Delta Faucet Company products that carry the Prop 65 label are made with brass, which contains small but detectible amounts of lead—an element that is included in the Prop 65 chemical list. Was this answer helpful? Still need help? Contact us! Print this answer What is California Proposition 65? In 1986, California voters approved the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act (known as “Proposition 65”). Proposition 65 is a "Right to Know" statute; its purpose is to make sure people are aware, before they purchase, that the product they come into contact with contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. The statute requires a warning label even if the amount of the chemical is miniscule. The State of California has listed over 900 chemicals that must be disclosed under Prop 65. The list, which is updated annually, includes a wide variety of chemicals that can be found in many consumer products, such as kitchen utensils, footwear and handbags, exercise equipment, photo and scrapbook albums, luggage, and many other products (even foods and beverages). This label is included on any product that contains exposed brass that an installer or service provider may come into contact with, such as showers, Roman tub faucets, freestanding tub fillers, showerheads and handshowers, bidets, toilets, accessories and select repair parts (RPs). Delta Faucet Company lavatory, kitchen, bar/prep, beverage, pot filler and laundry faucets, as well as related RPs and strainers, do not need to be labeled. Was this answer helpful? Still need help? All Delta Faucet Company products meet or exceed the requirements of applicable product performance and safety industry standards, as well as the federal Safe Drinking Water Act. Print this answer Why is the CA Prop 65 label included on my faucet if I don't live in California? Delta Faucet Company products are sold nationwide and in Canada. It would be considerably complex to determine which products will be ultimately sold or brought into California. Therefore, to ensure compliance with Proposition 65 requirements, we have decided to include these labels on applicable products, regardless of where they might be purchased or sold. Brilliance® finishes, designed to not corrode, tarnish or discolor for a “like-new” look for life, are developed by embedding molecules deep into the faucet’s surface, creating a bond that is virtually indestructible with an incredibly reflective shine. This process is known as Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD). Delta Faucet Company was the first manufacturer to offer this patented process. Brilliance resists abrasions and discoloration better than traditional special finishes and, in many cases, better than chrome. In independent tests using the harshest drain cleaners, the Delta Brilliance drain retained its appearance, while its competitors did not come close. Tested with over 100 household cleaners, the abrasion resistance of the Brilliance finish can even withstand repeated scouring with steel wool. A Brilliance finish is guaranteed not to corrode, tarnish or discolor for as long as you own your home. It can even withstand prolonged exposure to harsh coastal environments. They are designed to look like new for life. The finish was tested against more than 100 common household cleaners. Brilliance will even withstand prolonged exposure to hard water or sea air. Still need help? Contact us! Print this answer Why do I have pin holes in my spout? Pin holes in a Delta faucet spout are usually caused by "dezincification," which is the removal of zinc from the brass due to salt solutions, brackish water, mildly acidic solutions and poorly grounded plumbing systems. When the zinc is removed, the copper is redeposited to these areas and the surface of the part. The redeposited copper is a weak mass that is porous and fragile. If this has happened, you will need to replace the spout. To determine the spout part number for your faucet model, contact your Delta plumber or showroom, or e-mail us. Was this answer helpful? Still need help? Contact us! Print this answer Why is my Polished Brass tarnishing or peeling? Traditional Polished Brass finishes were coated with a clear coating to inhibit tarnish. Over time, this clear coat can be broken or scratched with regular wear and tear, abuse or chemical attack, causing the finish to tarnish or the coating to peel. Unfortunately, it's not possible to repair the clear coat so you will need to replace any parts of your faucet that are tarnished or badly scratched. Was this answer helpful? Still need help? Contact us! Print this answer Why is the finish deteriorating on my faucet's spout, handles and aerator? Normally, finish deterioration is due to years of wear and tear, abuse or chemical attack. The finish cannot be repaired once damaged; however, you can replace many of common faucet parts where the finish deterioration is most noticeable. To determine the parts you need, contact your Delta plumber or showroom. You can e-mail us for assistance, or call 1-800-345-DELTA (3358). Was this answer helpful? Still need help? Contact us! Print this answer How do I determine if I have a Delta faucet? Is the Delta name on ALL faucets, including the older models? Most of the Delta faucets will have the name on the faucet, usually on the escutcheon plate or drain cap. However, it is not uncommon for someone to replace the lavatory faucet without replacing the drain assembly. Some of the older models may not say Delta, but may indicate MASCO on the aerator. If the internal parts have not been changed from the Genuine Delta parts, the seats will have Delta on them and two handle stems that are "D"-shaped. Was this answer helpful? Still need help? Your Delta Select faucet product information, repair information and warranty are still the same, just under a new name. The Brizo Faucet site location is www.brizo.com. Was this answer helpful?
