Summer Reading Freshman Serena, Kiley, and de Lay 2016-2017
Freshman Honors English Summer Reading and Writing Assignment 2016 1. Read either Jane Eyre, by Charlotte Bronte or The Count of Monte Cristo, by Alexandre Dumas. Both of these novels are free online at www.guttenberg.org, or you can purchase a new or used copy. 2. Complete the handout entitled Major Works Data Sheet. The handout is available on the Bella Vista website www.bellavista.edu. You are limited to 2 pages for the Major Works Data sheet. 3. Bring your Major Works Data Sheet, the novel, if you have a copy, and a Composition Book, or spiral notebook to the first day of school.
Notes: We will be working with these novels for the first few weeks of school, so if you choose to not read the book you will be at a serious disadvantage.
You can expect to read and write a lot in honors English classes.
