Guangzhou Fuda Cancer Hospital is within jurisdiction of the Health Department of Guangdong Province. It is a modern and specialized hospital for cancer and is well known for its minimally invasive therapies. The honorary president, Professor Cao ZeYi, formerly the assistant health minister of China, is a highly acclaimed gynecological cancer specialist. He is also the deputy president of the Chinese Medicine Association and an executive committee member of the professional committee of China Anti-Cancer Association. The president of the hospital is Professor Xu KeCheng, a famous specialist of oncology and gastroenterology. Our hospital focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of various cancers such as liver cancer, lung cancer, breast cancer, nasopharyngeal cancer, colorectal cancer, cancer of the uterus, stomach cancer, esophageal cancer, pancreatic cancer, tongue cancer, prostate cancer, skin cancer, larynx cancer, lymphoma cancer etc. We insist on providing patient-centred services and adopt an individualized approach in the treatment of patients based on their individual conditions. Through a combination of conventional treatment with several newly developed technologies and traditional Chinese medicine, the hospital is determined to treat patients with full commitment and dedication and heart and soul. Up to mid-2008, our hospital has performed more than 4,000 argon-helium knife cryosurgery for the treatment of cancer. This is a world record acknowledged and received praises from Dr. Franco Lugnani, the president of International Society of Cryosurgery. A Brief Introduction to Guangzhou
Guangzhou, located at the north of the Pearl River delta, is the capital of Guangdong Province and the center of politics, economy, science and technology, education and culture of the Province. Under its jurisdiction are ten districts and 2 county-level cities of Zengcheng and Chonghua. Guangzhou covers a land area of over 16,000 square kilometers with the household registered population of 7,251,900 (permanent residents total 10.15 million), and a daily floating population of 3 million on the average. The climate of Guangzhou is sub-tropical. The average year-round temperature is 22°C. Spring is the warmer month, with an average temperature of 25°C. The rainy season falls between April and August. Average annual rainfall is 1,720 mm. Like Athens of Greece and Rome of Italy, Guangzhou also has a history of more than 2,800 years. In the 9th century BC, it was called "Chu Ting". As early as 226 A.D., Sun Quan -king of the Kingdom of Wu in the period of the Three Kingdoms (220-280) divided Jiaozhou District into two administrative regions, one was still named Jiaozhou and the other Guanghzou, hence name "Guangzhou". A legend has it that in ancient times five celestials riding on five rams holding ears of paddy rice in their months descended on to Guangzhou and gave the rice to the local residents and then they left behind the five rams that afterwards turned into stones. As a result, Guangzhou was also named the City of Ram, City of Ears. It is also called the City of Flowers as flowers can be seen all year round. It is also a cultural center. There are several famous universities. There are also higher educational establishments. The city is renowned for its arts and crafts, namely the Guangdong embroidery, ivory-carving and ceramics. Guangzhou is also one of the most important centers of foreign commerce in South China. The Chinese Export Commodities Fair has been held twice a year in the city since 1957. Guangzhou is a beautiful city with an ever-green scenery and flowers blooming all the year round. The city boasts many tourist attractions, among which highlights are White Cloud Hill Scenic Spot.
