Many GED students are a little overwhelmed when they think about the GED Math test. It could very well be that you’ve been out of school for some years, but even if you just quit school, math can be the most challenging of the four GED subtests. Well, if you feel that way, you’re certainly not alone. Actually, the math section of the GED exam is what’s concerning most students, and we know that this part is even stopping many people from trying to take the GED exam in the first place. That why we developed these free video lessons and practice tests. Video instruction is a proven effective way to get ready for the actual exam and with our free help and guidance, you’ll be ready to successfully take the GED Math test in a short time frame and without too much trouble! We also created highly effective testing strategies that may even help you fast-track the entire process. The GED Math test covers content fields like Number Operations and Number Sense (some 20 to 30 percent), Measurement and Geometry (20 to 30 percent), Data Analysis, Statistics, and Probability (20 to 30 percent), and Algebra, Functions, and Patterns (also some 20 to 30 percent). You are allowed 115 minutes to deal with all the GED Math questions. The four GED subtests (Math, Literacy, Science, Social Studies) are scored on a 100-200 scale and you need to reach a 145 score to pass on each of the subtests. The GED Math test has two parts. The first part includes five questions and here, the use of a calculator is not allowed. This is the part where your arithmetic competencies and basic number sense are assessed. The second part contains a little over 40 questions and here, you can use a calculator. There is an onscreen calculator, the Texas Instruments TI 30X3, but you are also allowed to bring your own TI 30X3 calculator. In this second part, you’ll also be able to access important and useful math formulas. The GED Math test includes several types of questions. The five most used questions are Multiple Choice questions, Fill-in-the-blank & Hot-spot questions, and Drop-down and Drag-and-drop questions. Save
