Kirstin Kreyscher, Student Ambassador Globalisation and Development Studies Kirstin Kreyscher is half German, half Dutch, she holds bachelor’s degree in Economics/Business Administration from the DHWB in Stuttgart and a master’s degree in Public Relations & Advertising from UNSW Sydney, Australia. She decided to come to Maastricht for a master’s programme in Globalisation and Development Studies. “When I obtained by bachelor’s degree in 2009, job opportunities were scarce with the full-scale financial crisis. By then I had acquired an interest in communication so I decided to specialise in that field. I went to Australia for a master’s programme, with a focus on journalism, media, public relations and advertising. Afterwards I worked in various jobs related to marketing, internal communications and PR, traveled throughout Asia and worked in India. Having experienced so many different developing countries at first hand, I was convinced that my further career would take a different route. After my return to Germany, I gradually realised that I lacked social purpose and a real connection with the subject at hand in my daily work. This was a turning point in my life. So I decided to go back to university, gain new knowledge and focus on a career in the social and NGO domain. The standards and reputation of Maastricht University are very good and with me being half Dutch, I wanted to explore more of this area. This master’s programme connects all the dots, so to speak, between my studies, travels and experiences so far.” Follow Kirstin on Facebook
“My goal is to live and work abroad in a developing country, as a project manager or teacher helping out and sharing knowledge with others where it is needed most”
