This innovative program offers you numerous ways to certify your next project as green, and qualify for significant rebates and savings that will increase your return on investment. In addition to giving you easy access to these money-saving programs, we’re here to assist and support you every step of the way. That includes helping you navigate the green ratings in your quest to qualify for the program of your choice. Green building features can increase productivity

Top 10 Ways to Make your Building Project Green 1. DESIGN AND BUILD TO EXCEED TITLE 24 BUILDING STANDARDS FOR ENERGY. In addition to possible federal tax deductions or credit, commercial projects are eligible for up to $200,000 in rebates for energy-efficient building systems and residential projects up to $100,000.
2. EXCEED UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE STANDARDS. Reduce costs installing a high-efficiency toilet or a zero-water urinal.
3. LIMIT LANDSCAPING WATER USE BY UTILIZING SMARTIMER IRRIGATION SYSTEMS. 4. PLANT SHADE TREES. Keep structures cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter while reducing your utility bills. Get free 15-gallon trees through TreePower.
5. BUY GREEN POWER. For only 1.5 cents more per kilowatt-hour, we can supply your facility with renewable energy through our Green Power Program.

YOU HAVE QUESTIONS. WE HAVE ANSWERS! WHICH STRUCTURES QUALIFY FOR GREEN BUILDING INCENTIVES? Any new or renovated structures, from office buildings, storefronts and condominiums to multi-family or single-family residences, can qualify as long as the project receives third-party green building rating or certification.
DO I HAVE TO BE AN ANAHEIM RESIDENT OR BUSINESS TO QUALIFY FOR THE CITY GREEN BUILDING PROGRAM? No. You qualify simply if your project is within city limits and receives third-party green building rating or certification.
HOW MUCH CAN I SAVE BY BUILDING GREEN? This depends on which measures you take to incorporate green building features into your project. You could potentially save hundreds of thousands of dollars over the life of your project. With Anaheim Public Utilities incentives, even more significant savings can be realized. Make sure you also check out tax credits for solar energy systems, as well as energy and water efficiency measures. Tax deductions of up to $1.80 per square foot may be available for new or existing commercial buildings.
