Group Supporters Appropriate Voluntary, Charitable and Not-for-Profit organisations or any Group that have an affinity and/or wish to indicate support for the Trust and its aims may apply for registration as a Supporter and, if successful, will be able to display their name on our website. Each organisation will be subject to a regular three yearly review, at which time it will be re-assessed and if appropriate renewed for a further three-year period. The Scottish Fire Heritage Group The Scottish Fire Heritage Group is a totally independent organisation dedicated to protecting and preserving Scotland's firefighting heritage. We have branches in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and in the West Midlands. The group is made of retired firefighters and those with a genuine interest in the history of firefighting in Scotland. National Association of Retired Firefighters The National Association of Retired Firefighters was founded in 1968, to fight for conditions of former firefighters and fire service widows and families. The aims and objectives of the Association are to promote and safeguard the interest of all its members, and their dependants, and actively engage with other pensioner organisations. Braidwood Lodge Braidwood Lodge is named after James Braidwood who became the first Superintendant of the London Fire Engine Establishment in 1833. Sadly, in 1861 he lost his life at the infamous Tooley Street fire. It was formed in 2005 primarily, but not exclusively for retired and serving fire officers.
The London Fire Brigade Retired Members Association The London Fire Brigade Retired Members Association was formed in 1930. Activity of the Association was suspended when the Brigade was mobilized in 1939. When the National Fire Service was disbanded in 1948, and the LFB was reinstated under the LCC the activities of the RMA resumed with a dinner in Soho. Unfortunately no records remain of pre war activities except for the two booklets containing the details of members also a photograph of the dinner in late 1948. Contact: B Sargent MBE

The Fire Service Preservation Group The Fire Service Preservation Group was founded in London in 1968, its purpose was to preserve the equipment and appliances of the Fire services. The fire fighting equipment and miscellania owned by our members, some dating back to the very beginning of Fire Brigades is often on show at events and exhibitions throughout the country, with members demonstrating, its uses and the dress of the time. The group raise many thousands of pounds annually for local and national charities including the Fire Fighters Charity.
The Fire Officers’ Association The Fire Officers’ Association is a trade union for people employed by fire and rescue services and associated professions. We focus on issues affecting managers and believe that delivering a service where their contribution is recognised helps to create an environment in which all staff are valued by their managers and peers. We firmly support the work of the FMCT.
The Fire Brigades Union The Fire Brigades Union represents firefighters at all levels within the Fire and Rescue Service across the UK – in fire stations, control rooms or other departments. We fight for all – regardless of duty system, regardless of role and regardless of workplace. Wholetime and retained firefighters need to support each other. We are stronger when we work and campaign together.
The Institute of Fire Engineers Founded in 1918, the Institute of Fire Engineers is a not for profit charity to encourage fire professionals to improve their knowledge and skills. To encourage and improve the science and practice of Fire Extinction, Fire Prevention and Fire Engineering and to give an impulse to ideas likely to be useful to the members of the Institution and to the community at large.
The Chief Fire Officers’ Association The Chief Fire Officers’ Association has existed since 1941, became a registered charity in 1999. CFOA aspires to be the professional voice of the UK Fire & Rescue Service and has been working on behalf of the FRS and communities they serve for over 60 years. CFOA aims to lead, advise, communicate with and provide support to its members and the Fire & Rescue Service community. It also provides independent advice to government on fire prevention, protection, intervention, community safety and rescue matters.
The Fire Fighters Charity Every 30 seconds in the UK, firefighters are called to an incident, putting their lives on the line, and often sustaining physical injuries whilst carrying out their duties. The Fire Fighters Charity is here for firefighters during their times of need, and assists over 15,000 individuals every year, by providing pioneering treatment and support services.

Western Front Association - Hertfordshire & Bedfordshire Branch The Hertfordshire & Bedfordshire Branch of the Western Front Association are proud to join the Fire Fighters’ Memorial Trust as voluntary members. The WFA was formed in 1980, with the aim of furthering interest in the 1914-1918 period, and to perpetuate the memory of all those who served their countries during the Great War. In honoring the memory of those who have served their country, we believe the WFA has much in common with the Firefighters Memorial Trust, and we welcome this opportunity to demonstrate our support”
The Civil Defence Association The Civil Defence Association represents past and serving volunteers engaged in Civil Defence activities. Part of our mission statement identifies that we are able to provide information on the art and science of Civil Defence, and encourage involvement with the community especially as, but not limited to, a volunteer and actively encourage the young to become involved also. Activities include Rescue, Firefighting, First Aid, Shelter, Feeding, Communications, Nursing, Counselling and Befriending as well as others.

Police Roll of Honour Trust Police Roll of Honour Trust researches and maintains the National Police Officers Roll of Honour and Remembrance, a record of public service and sacrifice of all British police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty, since the earliest days of professional law enforcement in the UK and overseas. Including members of the former Police Fire Brigades.
The Retained Firefighters Union The Retained Firefighters Union (RFU) was formed in 1976 and represents operational personnel in the UK Fire & Rescue Service. We represent both serving and retired members, manage their expectations, and provide national and local representation, general support and advice on any issue relating to their fire service duties including primary employment. The Fire & Rescue Service Chaplains’ Association The Fire & Rescue Service Chaplains’ Association is an Inter-faith and œcumenical organization for anyone who fulfils a chaplaincy role in all the Fire and Rescue Services of the United Kingdom and the Islands. Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service Past Members Association Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service Past Members Association is run by its members for the benefit of all past members. The WW2 Fire Services Preservation Group The WW2 Fire Services Preservation Group known as Heroes with Grimy Faces is a group of collectors, serving and ex-fire fighters dedicated to preserving the image of the wartime fire fighters of the Auxiliary and National Fire Services. Using only original uniform and equipment where possible the group attends 1940’s events and Living History shows nationwide. The Fire Brigades of Surrey Preservation Trust The Fire Brigades of Surrey Preservation Trust has been an independent registered charity (Reg. No. 297162) since 1987 and is run entirely by unpaid volunteers who help to deliver the Aims of the Trust which are delivered through our Fire Brigade Museum. The Nottinghamshire Firefighters Memorial Appeal The Nottinghamshire Firefighters Memorial Appeal was set up by a group of former Firefighters to raise funds so that a permanent memorial can be erected to honour the memory of the 37 members of the civil defence, ARP, and Fire services. Who between 1940 and the present day, have lost their lives in the line of duty, serving the people of Nottinghamshire, and whose sacrifice is as yet uncomemorated. The Burned Children’s Club The Burned Children’s Club gives support to young burn survivors and their families. We promote self esteem and help children come to terms with their altered body image. The Fire Mark Circle The Fire Mark Circle was founded in 1934 to advance the interest in the history of fire and fire insurance, including their brigades and fire marks. IFPO The Institution of Fire Prevention Officers is a voluntary organisation whose principal activities revolve around the better understanding of fire safety and prevention. We have well over 300 members who come from all parts of the UK and from many different backgrounds including fire service, safety, industrial and commercial communities. We also have chapters in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Many of our members are involved in assessment and management of fire risk. A number of Affiliated Member Companies from the fire industry also support the organisation. The IFPO organises several events for members each year where there are opportunities to update and broaden the knowledge base for the members and their guests. The IFPO has a register of fire risk assessors who have satisfied an internal board that they have the basic understanding to carry out assessments of fire risk to various levels of detail.
