Cheese Importers is a Colorado family-owned business founded in 1976 by Lyman & Linda White. We offer
natural, organic and imported cheeses, cured meats, specialty oils, spices, olives, chocolate, and other unique specialty foods. Our wholesale customers include over 400 discriminating restaurants, natural grocers, hotels and neighborhood buying clubs. "La Fromagerie", our European Marketplace, open to the public, features the largest walk in refrigerated cheese and cured meat market in Colorado. Touting an inventory of over 350 cheeses, a broad selection of European housewares, linens, unique childrens items, perfumes, soaps and our authentic French cafe "Bistrot des Artistes" it has become "the destination" for foodies, visiting family and our guests looking for a store that is not from a "cookie cutter" design. We ship our products directly to businesses and homes nationwide making it easy to remember and taste your experience with us whenever you wish.
Our Marketplace and Bistro are located at: 103 Main St. Longmont, CO. 80501 tel:303.772.9599 We have relocated to the historic building on the N.W. corner of 1st and Main ST. Originally built in 1931 as the first power station (ahhh diesel power... so clean!) to service city residents, this old gem of a building sat empty and dormant from the early 70's until the early 21st century when it was only utilized to store artifacts for the City of Longmont Museum. After searching all over the Boulder county landscape for an apropriate home (and nearing the end of our current lease, yes... the pressure was on!) we made an inquiry to the city regarding this building and it's unlikely availability. With some luck, crossed fingers, perfect timing and a few City Council meetings later (where we received unanimous votes!) we had a lease and could begin the daunting process of planning, construction and of course moving all of our wonderful cheeses and fine goods from our old home of 27 years.
