Keywords are actual words or phrases used by people on search engines to search a solution to a problem they face. Keyword research is a practice search engine optimization (SEO) professionals (SEO) use to find and research actual search terms that people enter into search engines. SEO professionals research keywords, which they use to achieve better rankings in search engines. Google Adwords Keyword Planner is a tool that helps to do keyword research and conduct effective ad campaigns. It is a traffic estimator and CPC indicator of google adwords. This tool performs three main functions. They are 1. Search for Keyword and Ad Group Ideas 2. Enter or Upload Keywords to get Estimates 3. Multiply keyword lists to get Estimates. 1. To search a keyword, you may type in a word or phrase relevant to the business you are in or by entering a landing page of your website or your competitor’s webpages or you can select from one of thousands of predefined keyword categories. Google Adwords Keyword Planner will show keywords that are relevant based on your input. There are certain filters available to eliminate keywords that are not within your criteria. For example, you may select the geographical areas and languages you want to target, negative keywords you want to eliminate, fixing minimum CPC amount or search volume. The search results show both adgroup ideas and keyword ideas based on the criteria set. Both the above show Average monthly searches with volume chart for each keyword, advertiser competition and suggested CPC bid which are indicators of commercial keywords and an "add to plan" tab to save keywords chosen. A "download" tab is available to download all the keywords in excel format. 2. Enter Or Upload Your Own Keyword List This function is helpful to see the volume and CPC bid of your own list of keywords, if you already posses one. Multiplying Keyword Lists Using Google Adwords Keyword Planner The third function mash up and shows various combinations of . keywords entered along with their traffic estimates and CPC bids. To use this tool you do need a Google AdWords account. Once you have that set up log into Google Adwords, and this will be your Google AdWords home page. Once you're here, click on the tools and analysis button at the top. Then, click Keyword Planner.There is a number of options here that we’re not going to do too much with, because for most people they default exactly how you’d want them. The first is geo targeting. You can target a specific country, a specific language, or a specific search engine – other search engines that are within the Google network like AOL. You can also customize your search and filter out keywords that don’t have a minimum monthly search threshold or a cost per click above or below a certain point. You can also hide keywords that you already have in your AdWords account or that you think are relevant and will show up.
