When you searched in google for the keyword Seo keyword tool it showed high competition but in traffic travis, the same showed that it’s relatively to rank. Aren’t the two results contradicting? And other thing I wanted to know, how many global broad and exact searches must a keyword have on average to be a strong keyword? And should the competition be low or high? Thanks in advance:) Vote:

Rishi Sehgal Hi Harsh. I find your post very helpful. But I have few doubts. Google Adwords- singup is free. But it says you have to pay for the results. I read the help topic by google and it says that we have to pay an affordable amount once the traffic is generated by the Ads. Maybe I didn’t quite understand the concept. Can you please guide me? Thanx. Vote:

Reply

Evan Derek Rishi, it says you have to “pay”, the payment is ONLY if you use Google Adwords, to display ads for your blog. Like the sponsored results you see on the Search page. But generally, just for your keyword research, the tool is totally free, you just scrap out the keywords of your interest, and use them on your article to your benefit. Hope I made it clear. Vote:

Gurmeet Athwal Hi Harsh, This is Gurmeet. I have a query.I was signing for google adword account as I want to use free google keyword tool. It was asking for Country and Currency. I want to know what will be the benefit of choosing the country as US and currency as dollar? and What will be the benefit if I choose the country as India and currency as US dollar.? I want to search keywords for US target audience for Youtube videos. Please suggest. Vote:

Reply

Harsh Agrawal @Gurmeet If you are from India (I guess you are), select your country as India & Currency as INR. The only difference here is you will be charged in your local currency & you will save money by now paying for the conversion to your bank. Rest all the features are same & you can search for U.S. based keywords or stuff without any issue. Meanwhile, if you are using Google Keyword planner for Keyword research & not for bidding, I would suggest use SEMRUSh. It’s way better. Vote:

Preet Sandhu People always confuse in buying the paid version of tool which helps in finding the best keywords for the website posts which can be ranked. Some tools people recommend like long tail pro etc.. My question is this to Harsh Aggarwal Sir.. That what could be the difference between the paid version of tools and free google adword keyword planner tool. As we all know that free version has some limitations.. Is adword is for newbie we have to later shift to paid version of tools to describe best keywords out of competition. Thanks Vote:

Harsh Agrawal @Preet Paid tools uses various technology to help us find the best keywords in shorter span. If you realize, the major thing you can save to become rich is your time. This is what you get with the paid tools. If time is not an issue & money is, one can easily use free tools like Google AdWord keyword planner & find keywords. In terms of features, paid tool are anytime worth our dime. Vote:

John Indeed a great post about keyword research. It is true that keyword research is the very 1st step to target the right traffic from search engines like Google. I have seen so many people who never does keyword research and always keep themselves busy in writing articles on different different random keywords which is not good. If We really want to get potential traffic which can converts easily then we must have to target the right keyword. For a productive work, every expert suggest to target long tail keywords with having low competition. Because long tail keywords with low competition are easily to rank rather than short tail high competitive keywords. I always use Google Keyword Planner to check the keyword search volume and Long Tail Pro for keyword competition score. I am glad that You have covered such an indepth article on keyword research. Thanks for sharing it with us. Vote:
