program in lieu of sentencing. It needs to say he is a smart person but makes bad decisions when on drugs. He has a gf and two children who's still in his life. He hopes to continue his studies at University of phoenix and be a productive citizen. He also would like to continue to help others in the same position after graduating from a intense, resdential drug program. Thank you so much.

Criminal Lawyer: RobertJDFL Thank you for your question. After reading my answer, if you require additional information, press "REPLY" and I will be happy to assist you further. There's no one way to write a letter to a judge. You already know what it has to say. It might look something like this: To The Honorable Judge X: I request and plead for leniency in the sentencing of my son, John, and ask that you sentence him to a drug program in lieu of jail time. My son is law abiding person who deeply regrets the mistakes he has made. When he takes drugs, he makes poor decisions. He realizes that now, has taken responsibility for his actions, and knows that he needs help in order to beat his addiction. My son has two young children at home (you may want to include their sex and ages). These children depend upon their father for financial support. Additionally, he has a strong relationship and bond with them (you might mention how he is involved with them, such as by helping them with homework or always putting them to bed each night). If my son were sentenced to jail, it would strain his family's financial resources and the connection between him and his children. John also hopes to continue his studies at the University of Phoenix where he is working towards a degree in ______ and hopes to get a job with or doing ________. My son has a very strong support system. We will assist John making better choices, ensure that he stays off drugs, and finishes school and continues to do right by his children and family. I would be most appreciative if you would consider leniency for my son and allow him to enter a drug rehabilitation program so that he may receive the help he so desperately wants and needs .
