1) What is Interbank GIRO (IBG)? Interbank GIRO (IBG) allows funds to be transferred from a customer’s savings or current account to an account at another bank, whether it is a savings, current, loan/financing or credit card account. This service is provided by Malaysia Electronic Clearing Corporation Sdn Bhd (MyClear). 2) How can I as an individual customer perform IBG transfers? Individual customers can perform IBG transfers through the following channels: - At the branch - Internet Banking - ATM 3) Which financial institutions offer IBG? If the fund transfer is unsuccessful, you will receive an SMS from the bank to notify you of the rejected transaction provided your mobile phone number has been registered and/or updated with the bank. You may also check your account balance to see if the amount transferred has not been returned and subsequently re-credited into your account. In any event, the successful transfer will be reflected in your month-end statement. 8) What happens if the information provided is not accurate e.g. invalid or wrong beneficiary account number? The transaction will be rejected by the receiving beneficiary bank and the funds will be recredited into your account.
