The Bachelor of Science program in Hospitality and Hotel Administration is offered jointly by the National Council for Hotel Management and the Indira Gandhi National Open University. The Three-Year (Six Semester) full time regular course equips students with all the required skills, knowledge and attitude to efficiently discharge supervisory responsibilities in the Hospitality sector.
The established Food Craft Institute Ahmedabad Society, set up in 1972 was upgraded as Institute of Hotel Management Ahmedabad in 1984 by Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India. With upgrading the course from Craft Course to 3 years Diploma in Hotel Management, further upgrading to B.Sc. (Hospitality & Hotel Administration) Regular &B.Sc. (Hospitality & Hotel Administration) Vegetarian Cuisine with a combined intake of 295 students.

Institute of Hotel Management, Ahmedabad - IHMA has been a pioneer center for excellence & a lively testament to the commitment for the hospitality education. Govt. of India and Govt. of Gujarat originally established the Institute as a registered society in 1972 as FOOD CRAFT INSTITUTE. The Ministry of Tourism (G.O.I.) upgraded the Institute to the Institute of Hotel Management, Catering and Nutrition in the year 1984.
The Institute offers B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration three years degree program, with an intake capacity of 230 number of students every year.
Minimum qualification for admission is a pass in the examination of 10+2 system of Senior Secondary education or its equivalent with English as one of the compulsory subject. Those appearing in 10+2 or equivalent examination can also appear in JEE on provisional basis.
For candidates from General and OBC categories upper age limit is 22 years. In the case of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates upper age limit is 25 years, only those SC / ST candidates whose date of birth is eligible.
