About the Project The International Entrepreneurship Centre (Uluslararası Girişimcilik Merkezi), founded through a partnership between the Turkish Ministry of Development, UNDP, the Istanbul International Private Sector and Development Office, Habitat Foundation and the Vodafone Turkey Foundation and with the collaboration of TOBB, TOBB Young and Women Entrepreneurs’ Council, Intel, Cisco, Microsoft, TEPAV, Özyeğin University and Bilgi University, aims to improve conditions in the entrepreneurial systems in Turkey and the neighboring regions, and to contribute to the competitive advantage of entrepreneurs on the global level. UGM aims to contribute to social development at the social and economic levels, and to support the meeting of international institutions active in the entrepreneurial fields, public institutions, NGOs, and universities via the Stakeholders Board formed under its roof. UGM was founded with the objectives of improving the perception of entrepreneurship, supporting women and youth in their entrepreneurial endeavors, reinforcing the competitive advantage of entrepreneurs, and streamlining the establishment of partnerships and collaborations with business ecosystems in the neighboring region.
UGM aims to attain these goals: Establish partnerships between entrepreneurs and institutions active in the field of entrepreneurship, Support research on the current situation and needs, Develop capacity-building mechanisms for youth, entrepreneurs and the business world, Serve to increase the number of entrepreneurial role models, Contribute to policies aimed at increasing competitive advantage.
