From us to you This is a special year for Jerry Savelle Ministries. During this “Year of the Greater,” 2014 marks 45 years of ministry for my dad! For four and a half decades he has preached thousands of times all over the world. I can remember growing up, seeing him come home late at night from a ministry trip only to exchange the clothes in his luggage in order to leave early the next morning. I can also remember the times he would study God’s Word for hours and seek the Lord for what He wanted to say through him. He never just preached a message again because it got a good response at a church or conference. It’s always been his desire and priority to hear from God and obey His instructions. Thirty-six years ago when my dad crossed the Atlantic Ocean to minister in Africa for the first time, the Holy Spirit instructed him to make an impact for the Kingdom of God in eleven African nations. From planting churches, starting Bible schools, building medical centers, caring for or-
phans and widows, and feeding villages, countless lives have been touched with God’s love across the African continent because of his obedience. Today, our computer tablet-based Bible school training has enabled us to provide much needed comprehensive training to pastors and ministry leaders free of charge. From busy cities to remote villages, they are learning the truth of God’s Word and are teaching others to grow in their faith. The tablets along with our Basic Bible Principles and Faith Energizers books are currently helping precious Christian leaders in Malawi, Zambia, Botswana, South Africa, Kenya, Somalia, Sudan, Uganda, and Tanzania! “A Call to Action” Mid-September marks the beginning of the fall season in North Carolina, making October a sensory experience for residents and visitors alike. The air is crisp; colors are vivid; and the smoky scent of a wood fire carried on the night breeze signals a change of season. The scene I just described was inspired by a ministry convention I was attending years ago. This convention marked an unforgettably life-changing prophetic “call to action” for the Body of Christ. With 2014 well underway, there is again a change in the season. We are putting the cold winds of winter behind us, as we invite the spring time harvests in. However, this change is not just occurring in the natural but in the spirit. As mentioned, some years back, I was ministering at this weeklong convention in Charlotte, North Carolina. Carolyn and I had decided that during the convention we were going to fast and stay in the presence of God every moment that we were not actually in the meeting. This went on for almost the whole week, that is, until Thursday afternoon. When I finished preaching that day, we

As I relaxed in the living room of our hotel suite, suddenly the tangible presence of the Lord filled the room. He said, “Son, my people are in financial famine, and I’m giving you the assignment to tell them how to get out.” Among the many things he has shown me about how His people are to get out of debt, that day, He charged me to reveal to the Body of Christ three specific things that He desires to happen among His people—all of which hinge upon our obedience to His Word: First, He declared that He would command His blessing upon His people. Second, He promised to rebuke the devourer on behalf of His people. And third, He instructed the Body of Christ to sow in famine. In this article, I will share insight about what God wants to happen financially in the Body of Christ during this season. What the Lord spoke to me that day, is in the Word of God. However, the problem has been that many in the Body of Christ have either ignored it or allowed carnally minded men and the world’s system to deceive them into believing that what God’s Word says won’t work. However, if you will open your heart and receive the following three messages the Lord gave me to tell you, you will come out of your financial famine and into the prosperity that is already yours.
I
“I WILL COMMAND MY BLESSING UPON MY PEOPLE.” When you are living in obedience to God, it is His pleasure to command His blessing upon you. This principle of obedience and blessing is found all the way back in the Old Testament. In Deuteronomy 28 the Lord provides a list of promises to His people, Israel, if they will “diligently obey the voice of the Lord their God, to observe carefully all His commandments ….” (Deuteronomy 28:1 NKJV). Just a few verses later Scripture says, “The LORD will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the Lord God is giving you” (Deuteronomy 28:8 NKJV). All it takes to wipe out every financial debt is for God to say, “Financial debt, go!” With just one word, God is capable of changing everything in your life. That’s how powerful He is, but you must recognize that change is always contingent upon your obedience to His Word. It is your obedience, or your “call to action,” that determines how soon His command for a blessing is released upon you. I am blessed because God has commanded His blessing upon me. Another way of looking at it is that I live in the blessing of God, because I live in His Word. Because I choose to live in faith-filled obedience to what
the Bible tells me to do and what the Holy Spirit is leading me to do, I automatically activate a command for God’s blessing to be released upon my life. In fact, when He gave me this message for you that day in Charlotte, God told me, “Son, I’m going to use you as an example to prove to the Body of Christ that when I command the blessing upon My people, lack is a thing of the past.” Since that moment, I have experienced some of the most tremendous financial miracles of my entire life. More than ever before, I have been able to give into good works and to families that are in need. Do you believe that God is just as capable of redeeming you today as He was in the days of old? My God’s hand is not shortened. He is still quite able to save us from our financial situation. To reverse any situation, God only has to speak the word, and it is done. To experience the blessing of God in this manner, what we need is for God to simply speak. I want God talking to my money. Don’t you? I want Him to speak to my finances. My friend, we’ve listened to the news reporters and commentators long enough. We’ve read Time, U.S. News & World Report, and The Wall Street Journal long enough. Now let’s find out what God has to say about our financial situation. God’s Word is more powerful than any words printed in a newspaper or displayed online. God can turn the tide of events in your life with a single phrase. The key is to believe and obey what He says. As you do, you will receive the financial liberty He has been waiting to give you. “I WILL REBUKE THE DEVOURER ON BEHALF OF MY PEOPLE.” Looking at Malachi 3:11–12, we read, “‘And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, so that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,’ says the Lord of hosts; ‘and all nations will call you blessed, for you will be a delightful land,’ says the Lord of hosts” (NKJV). Satan cannot withstand God’s rebuke. As believers, we have the authority to rebuke the devil. We typically don’t rebuke him until we get totally fed up with what he’s doing to us. We put up with his harassment until we get tired of it. Then, when we’ve taken all we can stand from him, we start rebuking him. Do you know what the word rebuke means? “To express sharp, stern disapproval of; reprove; reprimand” (Dictionary.com). God said, “I’m going to rebuke the devourer for their sake. I’m going to talk to their finances and command blessings to come upon them. I’m going to take care of the adversary for them, while those blessings are coming upon them. He will no longer control their finances.” When God rebukes, all hell trembles. In Revelation 1:15, the voice of Jesus is described like a multitude of rushing waters. Have you ever been
to Niagara Falls? The roar of those falls can be heard for miles. That’s how it is when God speaks. Once in the Bible, God spoke to Jesus from the skies, and everybody thought it had thundered because of the weight of authority it carried (see John 12:29). When God says, “Satan, I rebuke you,” all of hell and the principalities and powers of darkness flee under the force of that rebuke. As long as our God rebukes the devourer and commands blessings upon us, there is nothing the devil can do to keep us in bondage.

“MY PEOPLE MUST SOW IN FAMINE.” The third thing the Lord spoke to me during His visitation was, “Son, if people will do what I’m telling them, I will give them the blessing of Isaac when he sowed in famine.” When people are in famine and in financial bondage, they tend to hold back what they have. Fearing that they won’t get any more, they look around at circumstances and get stingy. In times of famine, people start hoarding. They withhold, which is the worst thing they can do in that situation. Proverbs 11:24 says, “There is one who scatters, yet increases more; and there is one who withholds more than is right, but it leads to poverty” (NKJV). The New International Version says it this way: “One person gives freely, yet
gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty.” A time of famine is not the time to hold on to the little bit you have. That is the time you need to sow. That’s how you get out of famine—by sowing. Let’s look at a story in Genesis 26: There was a famine in the land …. Then the LORD appeared to [Isaac] and said: “Do not go down to Egypt [in other words, don’t run away from the famine]; live in the land of which I shall tell you. Dwell in this land, and I will be with you and bless you; for to you and your descendents I give all these lands, and I will perform the oath which I swore to Abraham your father … because Abraham obeyed My voice and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws” (Genesis 26:1–3, 5 NKJV). Notice that in the midst of famine, God told Isaac not to run or be afraid of it, but to stay where He had told him to dwell. He assured Isaac that He would be with him and take care of him even in the midst of the famine: “Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the LORD blessed him. The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous; for he had possessions of flocks and possessions of herds and a great number of servants ….” (Genesis 26:12–14 NKJV). Isaac didn’t withhold in famine. He sowed in famine. He gave in famine. God told me, “If My people will sow in the same spirit that Isaac sowed rather than withholding, I’ll give them the blessing of Isaac.”

Isaac sowed in famine and received a hundredfold return. God told me to tell you that He is going to give you the blessing of Isaac. You don’t have to be a preacher for this to work for you. All you have be is a believer. When I preached this very message in a church in Oklahoma City, the people took it and acted upon it, sowing in famine, in their need. Later, the pastor asked how many in the congregation had received financial
miracles since they sowed in famine. Over 75 percent of his congregation stood to their feet! More than 75 percent of that church had received financial miracles because they had sowed in famine. I could go on and on. My files contain folders full of such documented testimonies. God is commanding His blessing upon His people. Even in divine intervention, there
is always a condition that must be met. When God moves with a strong hand to deliver His people, there are conditions that must be met to receive that deliverance. All God wants is an opportunity to command His blessings upon you and to rebuke the devourer for your sake. If you are of a willing heart and are ready to come out of your famine, then believe, obey, and sow, because your freedom is at hand!

Did you know that your greatest possession is the 24 hours you have directly ahead of you? When you grasp this truth, you will view each day as a gift and another opportunity to grow and prepare for greater success. I remember back to 2002 when I began developing my own plan for growth. I simply began by changing my daily routine. I didn’t have a spectacular growth track laid out by a professional life coach. My life was falling apart and I just made up a plan to simply make it through the day. Now that may sound pretty pathetic, but it proved to be one of the most pivotal moments of my life. Now, this very simple and somewhat ridiculous looking growth plan was in 2002. And get this: I haven’t stopped. Believe it or not, this simple plan of practicing those five things on a daily basis has resulted in overseeing the international operations of Jerry Savelle Ministries as CEO, teaching on our television broadcast that airs in 200 nations around the world, speaking engagements all over the world, books published and in bookstores nationwide, hosting my own success conferences, books translated in French and available in bookstores in Paris, France, along with helping teen girls and other outreaches. What am I saying? I think Jim Rohn said it best: “Success is something you attract by the person you become.” In other words, if you want more, you must become more. So often, we want our circumstances to change. We want a better marriage, a better career, a better salary, a better body, better opportunities, but the way to have better is to become better. God will change your circumstances, but He’ll change you first. I thought I was simply developing a routine to get my mind off of how messed up my life had become, but God was leading me to becoming a better me. As I began to spend time with God daily, I began to fall in love with Him more. I began to desire intimacy with Him. And I began to hear His voice more clearly. As I began to listen to faithbuilding messages daily, my mind was being transformed by the renewing of it. My faith was growing (faith comes by hearing: Rom. 10:17) and God was birthing dreams inside of me.
As I began to read daily, I began to get filled up with the Word of God. As I read success books, an intense desire to do more with my life began to emerge. As I began writing and reviewing my dreams and goals daily, I started to imagine myself making a difference. I began to wonder if God could use me. I began to think about my future instead of reliving the past or just wondering what the day would bring. As I began to exercise daily, I began to feel better inside and out. I began to develop a lifestyle of discipline and consistency that others noticed.

“I’m waiting on God.” No, God is waiting on you to be proactive and prepared. When He sees that you are ready and have studied to show yourself approved, that’s when opportunities come. Regardless of what your past has been, as you develop success habits in your life, you will attract success and get in position for God to bless you! Plain and simple. The bottom line

ith roots that have grown deep over three decades, Jerry Savelle Ministries has grown to truly feel God’s heart for Africa. In 1978, when Jerry Savelle’s feet first stood on African soil, the Lord gave specific direction to make an impact for His kingdom in eleven Africa nations. This vision God has given Dr. Savelle to provide mass discipleship training to equip believers, especially ministry leaders and pastors, with the Word of Faith is becoming more of a reality than ever before. Over the last several months, outreach trips have extended to our work in Tanzania, Uganda, South Africa, Malawi, Zambia and Botswana. Almost 500 students from the Heritage of Faith Bible Institute were recently handed their well-deserved diplomas in South Africa alone. These graduations are always exciting moments as qualified ministers are sent out to preach God’s Word and plant churches in busy cities and remote villages. One of the recent ministry trips brought Dr. Savelle to Richards Bay, South Africa again. It was here that Jerry Savelle Ministries hosted a Bible school graduation. During the ceremony, one of the ministers remembered this was one of the first places Brother Jerry preached in South Africa. He said, “We’re the Zulu Nation.” When Dr. Savelle first went into the Zulu villages in the early 90s, the chief sat with him and allowed him to preach the Gospel to his people. These students were now descendants of those that heard the Word in that Zulu village decades earlier. Since 2011, partners, you have helped train over
1000 African ministry leaders and pastors using our Bible school training contained on a computer tablet. Using this digital technology has allowed us to put the entire curriculum of audio teachings, books, and test material in both English and Kiswahili on a single portable device. From the beginning, Jerry Savelle set a mandate that the computer tablet training was never to be sold. Because of this, we will ever be grateful for the contributions of our dedicated co-laborers and partners who believe in this mission of making disciples. This digital Bible training is offered to Christian leaders and pastors who would have no other way of getting this kind of advanced training in the Word of God. by Carolyn Savelle Have you ever prayed for something over and over, and you still didn’t get the results you were believing for? Have you prayed the “Prayer of Faith” and every other kind of prayer you knew to pray, and it didn’t seem to work? It makes you wonder, Well, last time it worked. Why isn’t it working this time? It feels like you are praying a hitand-miss kind of prayer, and you don’t really know why sometimes it works and other times it doesn’t. Well, I have found the missing element in getting your prayers answered. For the last fifteen years, every prayer I’ve ever prayed, everything I’ve desired, everything I’ve asked God for has been manifest in my life without taking months and years. The struggle of faith has ceased in my life. I’m walking in a level with God that I have never walked in before, and I want to give you some keys to receive the things that you have prayed and believed God for. The first question you have to answer is: How badly do you want it? How badly do you want your healing when the doctors have said it’s incurable? How badly do you want that new home when the world has said your credit is ruined? How badly do you want to be able to pay your bills on time? How badly do you want to get out of debt? How badly do you want your marriage restored and your children serving God? How badly do you want these things? What is it that puts that reservoir of power to work on the inside of you and causes some of your prayers to be answered and some seem to be ongoing for years? This is the mystery. This is the key. This is the secret I
want to tell you: Your faith will produce, proportionately speaking, no greater than the intensity of your desire.
GET FED UP! When you get to the place in your prayer life where you become so intense over getting the victory, you will not be denied. If you are believing God for relatives who have been unsaved for thirty years, and you’re fed up with it, you will see victory! You will begin intently declaring, “No more are they going to be serving the devil. No more are they going to reject Jesus. It’s time for them to get saved.” When you get fed up, you get determined on the inside. You become intense, concentrated, engrossed, absorbed, strained, attentive, and passionate to see changes made! When I think of someone being intense and refusing to be denied, I think of blind Bartimaeus. Let’s read Mark 10:46-52 in the Amplified Bible of how determined he was to get his healing: As [Jesus] was leaving Jericho with His disciples [in] a great crowd, Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, a son of Timaeus, was sitting by the roadside. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth [passing by], he began to shout, saying, Jesus, Son of David, have pity and mercy on me [now]! And many severely censured and reproved him, telling him to keep still, but he kept on shouting out all the more, […] And Jesus stopped and said, Call him. And they called the blind man, telling him, Take courage! Get up! He is calling you. […] And throwing off his outer garment, he leaped up and came to Jesus. And Jesus said to him, What

do you want Me to do for you? And the blind man said to Him, “Master, let me receive my sight.” And Jesus said to him, Go your way; your faith has healed you. And at once he received his sight and accompanied Jesus on the road. I want to warn you right now that people will criticize you and say, “Shut up! You’ve gotten ridiculous with this. You’ve gotten fanatical with this thing. Just be quiet about it!” However, if they do, you ought to shout even louder, “We will do it! We can do it! We do have it! It is possible!” Let your desire intensify just like Bartimaeus.
NO MORE DELAYS Do you see why there’s no struggle anymore when you get so intense on the inside of you? At once, it will come to you. Immediately, you will receive it. There will be no delays in it. The delays will be gone! Why? Because they’ve run out of time. I’m not just telling you something I made up. This works! I have had more prayers answered in my life in short time frames, and I know that I have tapped into a vital key from God. I have become intense in my prayer life. I just won’t settle for anything less than what God’s Word has declared I have a right to. Jesus wants His Church to be thoroughly furnished with everything He has prophesied in His Word for us to have. He wants us to have the information, and He wants us to obtain all things that pertain to abundant life and godliness. If you’ll lock into this and get a hold of it, it will change your life forever.
QUESTION: HOW BADLY DO YOU WANT IT? How do you know whether or not the desire for something God has for you is truly as intense as it should be to bring about its manifestation in your life? I’ve discovered that there are seven questions I have to ask myself in order to know that my level of desire is truly at the place it needs to be to receive God’s promises and blessings without hindrance, and these are the questions I want to ask you:

1. WHAT FAMILY WERE YOU BORN INTO? Knowing that as a believer you have been adopted as a joint heir of Christ to receive all the promises of God is essential to getting your desire to a place where you are able to truly believe to receive (see Romans 8:15-17). If you don’t know who you truly are in Christ then how will you allow yourself to be open enough to readily receive the good gifts the Father has for you?
2. WHAT CAN YOUR FAITH PRODUCE?
Understanding that your faith in God’s ability to do anything is what releases His power in your life. The Bible tells us that it only takes faith the size of a tiny mustard seed to produce a great harvest in our hearts and move mountains in our path (see Matthew 17:20 and Mark 4:31-32).
3. ARE YOU LIMITING YOURSELF?
What are your desires today? What are your dreams? God is able to do it superabundantly, far over and above all that we ask, think, dream or hope! You just need to begin asking Him for it (See Ephesians 3:20). Don’t play football with baseball rules. Find the promises of God that relate to your desires, spend time communing with your Father and then ask Him for it. You limit God when you don’t ask Him.
4. WHAT’S COMING OUT OF YOUR MOUTH?
Do you know how God created all things? He spoke it, and it was so (see Genesis 1). You have all the power you need to get the victory you’ve been believing for (see Proverbs 18:21). You just have to speak it out of your mouth.
What’s coming out of your mouth today? Are you praying one way and then speaking doubt and unbelief? Are you confessing, “My God shall supply all my needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Phil. 4:19), and an hour later saying, “We don’t have enough to pay our bills. We’re never going to get out of debt!”? What are you saying? Whatever is in your heart in abundance is going to come out of your mouth. If you really don’t believe God can heal your illness, then your unbelief is going to manifest out of your mouth.
5. DID YOU SAY THANK YOU?
Thanksgiving is the act of expressed appreciation. It seems that today’s society, by and large, has lost the attitude of gratitude. Even on game shows that I’ve seen, people don’t seem very appreciative for the things they win. Why is that? Are people spoiled at getting whatever they want? Well, in the eyes of God, a thankful heart is vitally important. I believe one of the reasons that I’ve become so blessed is because I’ve tapped into this intensity of desire, and I’m continually expressing thankfulness to God.
6. DO YOU HAVE A FORGIVING HEART? This is such an important key to receiving the answers to your prayers. You must have a forgiving heart. When you stand praying, you have to forgive because if you do not forgive, you will not be forgiven (see Mark 11:22-26). That’s the bottom line. Haven’t you carried certain things around with you long enough? The Lord wants you free of it all. He wants you totally and completely free!
7. WHEN DO YOU WANT YOUR VICTORY? Of course, the answer is now! The Bible says that today is the day of salvation (see 2 Corinthians 6:2). So let’s intensify our desire to see the move of God in all areas of our lives.
GOD RESPONDS TO YOUR INTENSITY Over the years, Satan has tried to distract me from this truth, and he will try to distract you too. He wants to cause you to lose your focus on this revelation of intensity of desire and God’s plan to bless us abundantly. God has revealed His heart, and if we can think it and truly want it and seek Him diligently for it, how much more does the Heavenly Father want to do this for us because we’re His children? If God wants to do more than we’ve imagined for us (see Ephesians 3:20), then we are the ones who limit Him and stop Him from doing it in our lives. God does not want us to put limitations on His ability to provide for us. It all depends upon us and our intensity of desire. Ask yourself this: How badly do I want the things God’s put in my heart? If you want it strong enough, and you have sought His will for it, then God will manifest it in your life.
