Office of Diversity Programs and Services (ODPS), George Mason University Fairfax, VA  Provided support and advocacy for students, particularly the Hispanic/Latino and American Indian students.  Advised three Latina/o student organizations to include the Hispanic Student Association, Bolivian Culture Association, and the Interested Ladies of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc.  Planned and executed leadership development retreats for Latino student organizations.  Coordinated the Mariposas Mentoring Program for first-generation Latina college students in collaboration with the Mu Chapter of Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc.  Co-created and planned “Latinas on the move” workshop series for Latina women.  Created and planned “Café Con Leche” brown bag lunch series as a retention programming effort.  Planned and executed programs for campus celebrations of Hispanic Heritage Month and American Indian Heritage Month.  Managed a programming budget of $7,500 in addition to seeking additional funds from other university collaborators.  Initiated first Hispanic Heritage Month Networking Reception as outreach mechanism to Latino alumni and local businesses.  Served as a counselor for the Summer Transition and Empowerment Program.  Disseminated scholarship, campus activities, and internship information through list serve to approximately 1700 self-identified Latino students.  Facilitated diversity workshops for classes and student leadership training.

Assistant Director of Multicultural Affairs, August 1999 to August 2003 Office of Multicultural Affairs, The College of William and Mary Williamsburg, VA  Provided one-on-one academic and social adjustment advising for approximately 30 Summer Transition Program students.  Coordinated tutoring services for Summer Transition Program students.  Hired, trained, and supervised student staff of five counselors for the Summer Transition Program.  Edited and published the Office of Multicultural Affairs on-line newsletter.  Advised the Cultural Organizations Presidents’ Council that consisted of over 20 organizations.  Served as faculty advisor for the Hispanic Cultural Organization.  Initiated the creation and distribution of Hispanic Heritage Month calendars campus-wide and specifically to all Hispanic students.  Initiated and coordinated the first Hispanic faculty, staff, and student reception.  Developed and coordinated the S.P.A.N. peer mentorship program for first year multicultural students. The program consisted of 50 mentors and 50 mentees.  Coordinated over 30 workshops and logistics for the Pre-Collegiate Multicultural Leadership Conference.  Served as coordinator of assessment efforts for SACS accreditation for the Office of Multicultural Affairs.
