Process (Assembly) Engineer

Salary:
£18-£26k depending on experience
SUMMARY Reporting directly to the Components Business Unit Technical Manager, your primary role will be the design of the productive process; undertaking operational analysis, work design and methods engineering and, where appropriate reviewing opportunities for simplification of tasks for improved effectiveness.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•
The identification and/or generation of all documentation related to the integration of new products into the production environment.
•
Perform analysis of part design characteristics, specifications and tolerances of parts, manufacturing process design, set up and tooling.
•
Identification of subsequent changes to manufacturing and assembly drawings as necessary.
•
Optimisation of processes to meet objectives of lowering cost and/or improving productivity.
•
Providing assistance in the assembly and maintenance of engineering and other technical files.
•
Actively promote process improvement to ensure compliance to industry standards and regulations and to secure the future business position in the market place.
•
Attend meetings and contribute to project/production design review.
•
Other duties that may be deemed necessary by Management.
QUALIFICATIONS Any Mechanical Engineering qualifications would be highly beneficial but not essential; however it is critical you possess an understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing techniques.
EXPERIENCE • •
Minimum 3 years work experience Knowledge of machined component drawings an advantage
ADDITIONAL SKILLS Knowledge of office processes, procedures, and technology.
